New update for SIM Contacts?
http://www.htc.com/uk/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=297&cat=0&dl_id=839
This update for HTC HD2 allows for contacts stored on your SIM card to be properly displayed on your phone along with Phone and Exchange Server contacts.
The problem is, unlike last hotfixes, this comes in form of a RUU, so you'll loose your stuff on the phone.
It also says it's for ROMs equal or inferior to 1.59.XXX.X., which either means we'll have a new ROM soon, or that this is the new ROM (1.59). I haven't tryed it yet, but I downloaded it in case HTC deletes it. Anyone had a go yet?
What do you mean we will loose the stuff on our phone?
Funny, how did you find this update. Because its not listed anywhere in their support section......
Indeed, it is not listed on Worldwide or UK software downloads for the HD2. Could be that this is a leaked link that is about to published or a malicious link. Im not in a a paranoid mood but I'll not install until its visible in the official software download list.
Ah, if you select "Update" as the category it appears. Bad web site management means it doesn't appear in the "All" category.
I follow their RSS news. The minute there is an update, my RSS reader notifies me =)
That's how I found out.
jrvenge, using the RUU (ROM Update Utility) it warns you that "Installing this update will delete all the information on your pda phone", because it's installing a new ROM.
I just don't have the guts to backup everything, do it myself and then through all the trouble to get everything back into the phone, just because of SIMs contacts...
I did that but still nothing...

It is the latest Radio-ROM 15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07 and nothing more.
Nope, it didnt even show up on RSS...strange, anyways Im still waiting for the Swedish ROM update to come. Strange why it takes them so long just to translate the rom.. :S
I got it before it's gone. File name RUU_LEO_07662_20091217.exe with file size 12,636KB.
Whats gone ? I can still access it trough the link given..
It's back online!

Why would one mask Radio ROM update for a "SIM Contacts fix". HTC should fire cryptoidiots that have occupied their site. Guessing what another update with a silly description actually does never been so hard.
How are you so sure it is the latest radio version?
Did you install it?
I downloaded the update from their Asia site. It's a ~12 MB file. It showed up on my RSS feed, but, again, I subscribed from HTC SEA site.
Anyway, even though it looks like a RUU, it's not very drastic. I've applied the update. The only change I've noticed is that it upgraded my radio to 2.06.51.07. I was - and still am - using the stock ROM 1.48.707.2 (71294) WWE. I didn't have any contacts saved to my SIM sard, so can't really comment on the the efficacy of the actual objective of the target. :-S
Didn't delete my data or anything like that. So, didn't need to restore any backup.
Hmmmmm
donest work form Vodafone stock roms

The radio version is the same as rom 1.61. Battery life of rom 1.61 is a lot better than the 1.48 version. Is this also what you experienced.

No need to flash, a comparison is enough. It is binary identical to the Radio ROM from 1.61.
Here new ROM for Mozart
http://www.filefactory.com/file/b48..._1.28.111.03_5.52.09.16_22.33a.50_RELEASE.exe
DO NOT TRY TO FLASH THIS ROM FOR ANY OTHER DEVICE EXCEPT MOZART!
Enjoy!
THNX a LOT!
Hopefully it fixes my problems with sending text messages.
Will I lose my data (mainly my SMSes) if I install this update?
//EDIT -> according to several forums, I will lose my data...
and I haven't found any solution to backup my SMSes - yeah -.-
Is there anything I should regard or be aware of before updating?
//EDIT -> I just tried updating my phone and don't know how. It boots in the bootloader (RGB-test with some data on the device, SPL, the SD card, ...) just fine but the RUU doesn't find it.
I'm trying to flash it from a Windows XP machine - is there anything I have to take care of before I can flash it?
Or is there a real step-by-step manual for total dummies (I've flashed my HTC Diamond several times before without problems and have got no clue, why the PC won't find my Mozart).
The update process cancels with a CONNECTION ERROR [260].
will the hspa work on it from the tmobile usa after flashing this rom???
Invalid vender id
I have
INVALID VENDER ID
T-Mobile
Is there already a solution?
THX
nice greetings
Do you have the German T-Mobile version?
Mine flashed without any problems (after solving the driver problem...).
I have T-Mobile Austria.
but that this should be the same, right?
Greetings
Well, I'm not exactly sure.
However, if you think about the update failing with a wrong VENDOR ID - I guess it makes a difference.

are there any big noticable changes after flashing the new rom?
or is it just a minor security/stability update?
Be careful when uninstalling TMO apps
ROM is working very good, more fluent than stock version 1.25 - no problems found yet.
Still noticed the same problems with the stock ROM after uninstalling TMO shipped apps. When I uninstall Navigon the BING Map "Search" and "get directions" is gone/does not work anymore. When I remove "mediencenter" and plug in the headphones the phone is neither accepting nor able of making calls. However reflashing solves the problem - but you can't get rid of those TMO apps without losing functionality.

According to some other sites (just google the version number), this rom ships out with new devices. So no, it should not get you blocked, as it's a legit update.
Flashing is fairly easy: Backup everything you can, start you Mozart in Bootloader mode (pressing volume down while powering it on), plug it into your PC via USB, install the drivers if needed (done by installing Active Sync in XP, Windows Vista and newer should automatically find the needed drivers), start the updater and follow the instructions.
There is no official changelog, but several people think that the animations are smoother, the touchscreen reacts faster, ...
Seeing that there is no official changelog and the only thing we can do is assume what could have changed, I think there's no sense in discussing this. Especially since you can find several threads in other forums that discuss the changes in various lengths...
I haven't noticed any new problems after the update, so I guess it's at least as good as the previous version.
But this are just my thoughts

No you can't flash the HTC_Europe version, only the TMO_DE version.
TMO_DE stands for T-mobile Germany
HTC_Europe is the generic software for the non branded devices.
Doesn't make any difference except the useless apps you get from t-mobile.
But after you delete them everything is the same.
And for the record, You don't have to flash your phone at first... Installing new firmware IS flashing. so you just run the RUU and make sure zune is running and phone is running, not in stand-by.
And be sure to backup everything you want to keep, haven't flashed my mozart, but i think you lose all data when you flash it.
Sure someone else knows that.

Thanks for the answer!
I thought that I have to set the mozart in the bootloader mode, in order to flash. When I was telling it "flashing" I meant something like hspl like we had to do on the HD2, befor we could flash custom roms or htc roms on it.
edit: and is there any possibility to go back to: 1.25.2250.5 firmware (now installed on my phone)?
and last question this 1.28 version will not breake my warranty, right? It'S a normal t-mobile rom, isn't it?
Guys, I'm not sure I fully understand everything so far.
I basically have a Telstra (Australian) HTC 7 Mozart. From what I gather, I cannot flash this on my device until it is unbranded, is that correct?
hello to everyone.
I have a htc t-mobile mozart Germany but I live in Venezuela and I can assure you and proven DepNet.com for both 1.25 and 1.28
posted on this page to a friend Football and run to perfection
and also I can tell you that my phone came with 1.25 and the 1.28 istale him but then return to 1.25 and all is well.
and the echo for several times trying to place the Spanish language and if anyone can help I'd appreciate it forever
@ WinUser009:
HSPL was needed because we used to flash cooked (and therefore custom-made) ROMs, which were not signed by HTC or any other company able to sign them. These ROMs are unmodified and signed, which is why you can flash them without flashing any unlocked HSPL first.
Bootloader-mode is just a different mode to boot in - it does not need any changes to your phone!
I don't think that there is a possibility to go back to 1.25.xxx - but honestly why would you want to? But I have to admit that I have not yet tried it...
As to the warranty: that's a complicated matter...
This firmware is not official and my new Mozart (I got a new one after sending it in) still had the 1.25 firmware installed (someone posted that newer phones should ship with the 1.28). So there might be a person detecting that you flashed it yourself, if they keep sending out new phones with 1.25 preinstalled.
However, the phone I turned in had 1.28 flashed and I have not received any complaints when I sent it in for a replacement. So I guess it is up to your shop but it should not pose any problems!
@ameel
You can flash as soon as one of these things happen:
- custom roms are released that don't check for the carrier information
- you unlock your phone (somehow)
- Telstra releases an update
But as of now you can't flash these T-Mobile roms on your Mozart.
@minino405
Sorry, but I didn't understand your post. What did you try to tell / ask us?
I hope I could help you with some of your questions
Hey folks, novice user here.
Quick background: I've had the HTC Legend for over a year now, it's on the Bell network however I unlocked it the first day I had it with a $5 unlock code deal from RedFlagDeals so the phone is UNLOCKED. I've put SpeakOut! SIM cards into it, it's on a Bell one now, etc.
The thing is, I've never, ever updated the software on this thing, at all. It's on whatever basic firmware came in the HTC Legend box to begin with. About phone says: Firmware Version 2.1-update1, Kernel Version 2.6.29-9e497, Build & Software Number 2.02.666.3
So in a nutshell, can somebody help this novice user get the latest and greatest onto here? I also would like to wipe out all my contacts & account infos etc. and start from scratch
The links and acronyms are all very confusing for me since I'm just trying to learn this all at once, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I have subscribed to the thread so I will get replies instantly!
Thanks in advance all!

do as he said then what you want to do is install this rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=866849
basically becuase bell hasnt released an official 2.2 update you have to downgrade your legend (yes counter productive it seems) then root it(jailbreak it) so you can install custom ROMS which is basically android 2.2 plus lots of extra tweeks
Sorry to ask this question, It's a simple one but all the threads seem to go into too much info. I've hunted through numerous threads, but maybe someone can point me in the right direction.
I'm a Win 6.5 kind of person and Know nothing whatsoever about Android (Until my next upgrade (Sensation Hopefully))
In 2010 I bought my daughter a T-mobile UK Hero, unlocked it and is now running with an O2 UK sim.
She has never recieved an over the air update to 2.1, is this because it should come from T-mo and she now has O2 Apn settings??? On 1.5, I can't even find "Check for Updates" in the menu.
Is there an easy way and a step by step guide to this?
I'd like to use a stock rom, as I'll have her and everyone else to answer to if anything goes wrong.
Is there a thread or glossary that explains upgrading procedures and words like rooting etc. as all this seems a little different to Win Mo.
Thanks
a good place to start would be here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=797740
also, please post [Q] threads in the Q&A section: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=511
if you never want to root your device, just flash an RUU to the device.
you should find the correct one here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=559622
I expect only a T-mobile one will run. I am not certain if this will remove your sim unlock.

Thanks, I'll give that thread a go, and I hadn't thought about the simlock issue. I did an over the air update on my girlfriends desire that I unlocked from O2, and didn't have a simlock issue, or is this totally different to an RUU flash?
Sorry it went in the wrong section. I spend most of my time on the Leo forum where there's no Q&A Section.
Thanks again
Does anyone know for sure if this will re-lock the phone?
If it does, can the phone be unlocked using the same code as used last time?
I seem to recall reading that flashing a rom doesnt affect the sim lock. Dont know about an RUU though
I have never touched a windows phone before but have exp. with Installing unsigned code and ROMS (xbox/360,androids)
With that being said I just received a Windows HTC T8788 from a buddy last night. I have read so many tuts. and info that I have 15 tabs from being sent from one to the other and back again. Here is what I have gathered.
Model:T8788
Carrier:AT&T
Software: Windows 7.5
OS version: 7.10.7720.68
Revsion:003
Radio: 5.69.09.05a_22.50.50.21H
Bootloader version:4.5.2250.0(129685)
Here's the question that sends me in circles and its not the procedure or directions, its which path do I take that is not clear to me to get RSPL/HSPL.
Now for the procedure and Hacks I would like to get but keep finding myself jumping from old to new material.
1) Download WP7F3 and check Bootloader. SPL needs to be 1.5.xx or
lower because DFT program doesn't support the SPL 4.5.xxxx bootloader I
have.
2) So that tells me that a downgrade is needed so that I can RSPL/HSPL then I
can Install Ansars New 8773 ROMs. This is were I get messed up!!!
I found that is has to be a stock provider ROM build;NoDo that has SPL 1.5
Which I found here in this form in FOOTBALLS post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1427902
I have also read some were that My version was not able to downgrade
unless i use The goldcard procedure.
I missed a lot of info above but just wanted to clarify were I was
I have no backups of old OS from Zune, Nothing at all. The process to do this is pretty easy just just need someone with windows handset exp. before I take the leap without confirming proper order and software versions.
Sorry If someone take me to the direct link that I couldn't find
So thats it, nobody will even flame me and tell me to to keep reseaching.
Am I missing something. This is Q&A thread for HTC T8788 Sound right?
I wish someone had answer this... Did you have any luck on your own?
