hd2 multitouch - HD2 General

hello all, as i know that hd2 is multitouch and i get a paint application multitouch "l3v5yMultiTouchDemo.CAB" and i saw it runing as multitouch in the youtube video on hd2, but i install it on my htc2 and it doesnt work as multitouch only one finger can paint, if any seconf touch it will stop, what is wrong here, is ther a driver to be installed or is my device not multitouch or the hd2 not multitouch???what did i miss?

writing or painting on the HD2 screen does not work very smooth. Not even with only one finger. .

it's not about smoothness, if you watch this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4IkVp3uWtE you know what i mean, here it's possible to multitouch the hd2, in my case using same application, i can draw with one finger, but once i put the second to choose color or draw, it stop to respond until i release one of the fingers, so it's not working at multitooch, any idea?

i just installed the "SciLor's Multi Touch Test v3.CAB" dunno if this matter or not, but now both app are working as multitouch

Multitouch Touch pro2

I read an article about multitouch on HTC dream and I researched a lots about it.
yesterday, i found that i can touch 2 point on my TP2.
I thought why don't we make the simulator multitouch on TP2 like HTC Dream.
we are xda developer
Lets make it with me.
now im making Sim Mul app, but i dont have HD2, so i don't know exactly how it work on Wm device.
if you have any documents, pm me.
check out the multitouch on diamond and dream:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3Owgcos_KY&feature=player_embedded
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pT-npF3r5B8
the dream has a capacative touch screen, as is the navipad for the diamond, so no go for our resistive touch screens. I can image why you want it given the scroll bar on the tp2

trouble adjusting from HD

If you haven't calibrated your screen, you may try to do so.
There are some tips for learning how to type on this forum. Read it, it may help also.
Try to reduce the sensitivity of the screen, there is a twik how to do it, here on XDA among other tips. (Tips to Improve Typing Accuracy on Keyboard)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583638
I have also switched from hd only.
For some, it takes some time to get used to it.
Have patience. Just remember to touch as gently as u can.
Also, try the sensitivity tweaks.
What is the ROM you're using? If you're using 1.43 ROM, applying sensitivity cab would help.
At first I had some problem with the HTC keyboard but now I can type quite easily.
You should try Swype, it's a very good keyboard except it lacks direction keys on the main keyboard. Another interesting keyboard is Fingerkeyboard, you can seach this forum.

I used Energy ROM WM6.5 on my Blackstone in conjunction with Fingerkeyboard and loved it.
Moving to the Leo, I struggled with the standard HTC Keyboard but installed Fingerkeyboard and finding it almost as good as the Blackstone. Having used it for less than 24 hours, I am not yet used to the Leo screen but I do not feel that far behind where I was on the Blackstone already.
Methinks the best phone around (Blackstone) just got a whole lot better (Leo)
i am using stock 1.48
sometimes, the alpha jumps between the 2 letters... this is making me crazy
I hope this ins't redundant or something you're aware of, but the button you release, rather than touch first, is typed. In the day or so I've had mine I've concentrated on tapping quick, light and as straight up and down as possible.
HD to Leo
I struggled with the keyboard too coming from HD to Leo.
I am using cliquick which does the job, minus direction keys.

HTC Multi touch....

is
Explain this
Can v Use this !
Not new
Not New.
Actually the d-pad can be used this way not the touchscreen. Still it might be useful to use on the Album or Zooming in other programs.
How can I do it ... that's impressive ! we can use that to zooming pics by multitouch ^^

pinch to zoom?

Does WP7 not support pinch-to-zoom in IE or that a problem with our ROM? All I can do is double tap to zoom in on web pages. Anyone else experience this?
Can't check it right now, but make sure you touch the screen with both fingers at the same time. If you put one before the other, chances are multitouch will not function..
I've been doing it at the same time.
Unfortinatly, Its a known prolem on our HD2 :|
OK, so if it's not a WP7 thing then it's just a driver issue. Since the HD2 fully supports multi-touch it's probably only a short time before we get this working I'm thinking.

[Q] Keyboard can't keep up with my typing

Okay, now this happens regardless of the OS on the phone - Android, Windows Mobile, or Windows Phone.
Basically, when I start trying to type quickly on the HD2, it can't keep up and starts missing out letters etc. but when typing with the same speed on another phone (e.g. an iPhone or a Galaxy SII) they have no trouble keeping up.
Now, is this a fault with my phone or is it that the touch screen just uses older technology and isn't as responsive?
try to use a "multi touch" keyboard for whatever platform you are using and see if that helps.
i think NO such keyboard exists for WM6.5.
i KNOW several such keyboards exist for Android...the HTC Sense keyboard included in most Sense-based Android roms for the HD2 is NOT multi touch, look for "gingerbread keyboard" on the market place. it also works on froyo roms!
for non-Sense-based Android roms for the HD2, most of them come with the stock gingerbread keyboard out of the box, which IS multi touch. if you are using froyo, see previous paragraph!
i think WP7 keyboard is already multi touch.
finally, the HD2 screen hardware can only handle up to TWO touches, which should be ok for typing fast, provided the keyboard is multi touch.
and, if you are already using a multi touch keyboard but desire a bit more responsiveness, consider disabling prediction, auto correction, typewriter sound, and vibration. some keyboards also support "calibration", so you can run that to see if it can learn your finger tap patterns to tune the keyboard's response.
Thanks for the information.
I've already tried the HTC Sense keyboard (currently running Sense 3.5), Gingerbread keyboard, and ICS keyboard, but none of them seem any better than each other.
I have tried calibrating the Sense keyboard, but you say that it doesn't support multi-touch anyway so it doesn't seem like it will be of much use. I don't use vibration feedback or the typewriter sound ever, but I'd find it hard not to use prediction or auto-correction.
From instinct I'd say that this seems far more likely to be a hardware problem than a software problem, so I think it is probably just that the HD2's screen is only 2-point multi-touch, whereas other phones I've tried like the Galaxy SII are 4+. So there's probably not really anything I can do to change this.
Thanks anyway though

hi, i had the same problem before. using swiftkey X will help alot.
otherwise, try to unbox heptic feedback(vibration) on your keyboard...since its (in fact) the vibrations that cant keep up with us fast typers
btw, my girlfriend loves my fast fingers

I bet she does
I actually bought Swiftkey X when it was on sale a while back - I wasn't amazingly impressed but I'll try it again now. Thanks for reminding me.
And yeah, I don't like using vibration on the keyboard anyway so I keep that turned off. Probably saves battery too.
