Touchscreen "touched" without touch... (not the already posted problems) - HD2 General

My HD2, randomly and (fortunately) sporadic, have a strange problem:
when I unlock the device and the start screen appear, the HD2, open, close, scroll, type, change and so on... without I touching the screen. This problem hold for 5 or 10 seconds... after that the device working good.
Any ideas?

Do you have a screen Protector on the phone? I had this problem too after installing a brando screen protector.
Regards,
Schroedinger

I have no screen protector, but I wanted to know if grease of the finged can influence the touching...

Do you have a cat? Is it both alive and dead at the same time?

Not sure about grease but perhaps some moisture?

What's the temperature outside at your location? Is the screen working fine at home or wherever it's warm enough?
This problem has been reported lots of times, btw.

i also have this problem, when i'm outside sometimes.. at temperatures below 0 degrees... ?

I have this problem sporadically, but has only ever happened after I hang up a call!

I have this problem in most of the case when i wakeup the phone from the standby... independently from the ambient temperature, but... maybe... dependant from the pressure/grease of the finger.

Weird touch screen on Trinity

Hello,
My pretty new Trinity has a weird feeling touching the screen. It is very precise and seems to work ok, but I feel as there is some space below the surface. It has not a screen protector yet.
Is that normal or I have an issue?

It is normal. I've had this on serveral pocket PCs I've had (Wallaby, Blue Angel, Wizard).
100% normal.

Disable screen fading-in delay?

Anybody knows how to disable the delay of the screen fading-in effect? It lasts for approximately 0.5-1 second and I want to get rid of it (i.e., screen lights up immediately). Any registry tweaks? Thanks.
I'm looking for the same thing.
Need to touch two times to get the phone to react if the screen has faded...

Me too. Tell us how
Lol I'm happy of that. Hoping they never remove it!

Anyone have a problem with part of the touch screen not registering?

I have an HTC hero and I am having problems with the bottom third of the screen. I cannot "click and hold" in order to drag a program icon, for instance. Instead it just registers the click, and not the hold! Very annoying.
I have MoDaCo custom rom 1.5 on it, but don't think this could be a software/firmware issue. I don't recall it being a problem before, so it appears it has developed a fault!
Nightmare. Anyone experienced anything similar and an easy way to fix it?
James
Hi,
I can't actually help you but i can tell you the first iphones would develop a similar problem with their touchscreen where sensitivity dropped off, especially near the edges. This turned out to be a coating wearing off.
This seems to be happening from time to time with capacitive screens.
If you are sure it's a hardware issue, i wouldn't hesitate to send it back.
Kr,
-Kevin
Have you tried re-starting the phone?
Yes, and it made no difference. But pulling the battery and restarting (I had to do this to get theserial number fot HTC support!) worked!!
Cheers
James
You could also download a "Draw" app to test all areas of the screen.
When I first had mine I had problems hitting the Backspace on the portrait keyboard, I tried a calibrate but I think its better now because my finger knows where to go.
I find my screen seems more responsive when the phone is in my hand, less so if lying on a table. Is this a quirk of a capacitve screen or more to do with the angle of attack?

This. It doesn't seem even remotely responsive when I have it lying down flat on any surface, but as soon as I pick it up it works again.

The metal bezel actually acts as a grounding point between the capacitive areas that don't have any adjacent space to get a good contact...

Screen Does Not Lock When Talking?

Hi,
I have noticed that when I call something, screen does not lock and I click various stuff during conversation.
Is this a default behavior or not? As in HD2 advertising it said that phone turns off screen when talking.
Do you have a screen protector? That's normally what stops the proximity sensor working as there's quite a few that stop it working. I have a protector on mine, but it's one that doesn't cause this problem. I'd hate it if I kept hanging up with my cheek! lol
Today I've bump onto the same problem - no locking during calls - reason - using Lumos app. instead of autobacklight - check it !
Yeah, using advanced screen protector from clove.co.uk however, i haven't sticked it on those small lights.
Strlus does not work as well though.
What screen protector do you recommend?
Nop, not using Lumos or anything backlight related.

[Q] G2 "ghost clicks" screen sensitivity

Has anyone noticed that their screen is picking up "clicks" without actually touching the screen?
on occassion my screen will detect a button click even if i haven't actually touched the screen. It's starting to get annoying, but I don't know if that's just the way the phone is, or if i'm too used to a capacitive screen rather than a heat sensitive one.
i had this happen a few times. not enough to bother me that much. it happens sometimes when my finger is hovering really close to the screen, like i'm getting ready to press on it but not yet because i'm still reading whatever it is on the screen, and then it ends up clicking it anyway. i think its happened a total of 3 times for me. 2 other times though, i've had the screen do double taps when i was just swiping around. trying to scroll up and down on a webpage and it registered as zooming in. i did do some zooming in and out a few seconds prior so i think for some reason it was "stuck" on double tap mode or something. had to switch the screen off and on to fix it.

yea it does the same thing for me as well. I sometimes go to press a letter and the letter gets pressed twice. it's really annoying. i'm hoping that if i buy a screen protector it will get better but i'm betting that I'm gonna have to battle with LG's terrible customer service.
Never happened to me. The screen (as with every other smartphone I have had) doesn't react unless I'm actually clicking. Even if I touch the screen with the SLIGHTEST touch I can do, it doesn't react. Which is good, no problem reacting when I actually click.
I guess it might have something to do with my fingers being hard as metal due to guitar playing or something.
On mine it seems to get worse as the screen gets oily. If it starts to wig out, I wipe down the screen and that usually solves the problem for a couple days.
When my screen gets overly sensitive i turn the screen on and off again. Usually fixes it.

Maybe i'm just crazy, but when i spend this much on a phone I shouldn't have to turn the screen on and off constantly to get it to work.
Hopefully LG realizes this is a problem and rushes out an update...

it happened to me... not only that the screen freezzes from the ghost clicks... the clicks are on middle of the screen staying... for example by playing Plants vs Zombies 2... the screen doesn't react at all.
I think that has something to do with the "smart-stay" or with the screen time-limit.
... plus of that... the phone gets really hot at that time.
any solutions?... or back to guarantee?
Greets.
Never happened to me, however I know exactly what you're talking about from using cheap Chinese tablets. Therefore I suggest getting it fixed or exchanged.

Same here, works this way, slightest touch wont react, actual press would.
