Hi everyone,
I've been a long time reader of these forums (and owner of many HTCs), but I've never posted yet.
I've a very strange problem with my new HD2. Whenever the phone goes to sleep (that is: whenever i press the power button or the screen sleep time elapses) it does not ring the alarm for received text messages anymore. When it is sleeping, and an SMS arrives, the green LED starts to flash, but no sound; then, when I press the power button to awaken the phone, it suddenly rings the alarm for the SMS.
Is there any way I can fix this?
Thank you very much!

I recently installed the day light savings patch to my cingular 8525 so I don't know if this has anything to do with it. However, my pre-set alarms now will chime when they're supposed to, but the "notification" in the bottom left hand corner does not come up. Now, the alarm goes on and on until I turn the phone off for a short period of time. Even then, sometimes the alarm continues to ring, maybe until it times out. But I can't seem to turn off my alarm.
Anyone have an idea of what might be causing this?
I've noticed that if I turn off ALL of my alarms that it no longer does this (no alarms to come on!) but the secondary issue is then I no longer get notices when my meetings are about to start. So either I get notification for when my meetings start and every morning I struggle with turning my alarm off, or I get no notices whatsoever.
The missed calls and text message notifications are working normally.
I currently have my Wing set to flash the orange notification light and vibrate when a new text message is received. Does anyone know if there's a way to set it so the screen doesn't turn on when a new message is received? I push the power button on top to turn off the screen so I don't accidentally push any buttons or do anything while the phone is in my pocket, but when a new text message is received it wakes up the phone and then buttons get pressed, people get accidentally pocket-called, etc. So I'm trying to figure out how not to wake the phone up when a new message is received, just have the vibration and the light flashing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Hi everyone,
I am having a problem with the HD and would like to ask you if you are also having the same problem sometimes.
As I said, it is not all the time but sometimes. I get a message but the phone does not let me know about it at all. However, it only does when I press the power button to do something else, it rings the message tone so I am aware of that I got a message (sms). When I check the time of the message, it is definetely earlier than when I pressed the power button.
Threaded messages are turned on. Phone is set NOT to wake up when an SMS is received. I don't want it to turn itself on in my pocket.
Regards.
After I got RC33 update over the air, I've been having problems answering phone calls. My phone rings, and I press the green telephone button to accept the call, this silences the ring tone, but shortly afterward it just starts up again. Pressing the green telephone button continues silencing the ring tone and it seems like the phone will answer a call at random presses. This problem seems to only come up when the screen has timed out and requires an un-lock pattern. Any help would be appreciated.
same damn thing happens with mine after the update i press the answer button and nothing happens just silences the phone....it really annoying and since the update my home screen freezes alot more

For the home button waking phone issue, see this thread in this forum from yesterday:

I'm not as worried about the Home key, but I have the same complaint about receiving SMS.
When I receive a text message, my screen turns on for a few seconds, then turns off again. Is there a way to stop this?
If I touch the screen when it is on, it takes me into whatever I touched, and the screen stays on. That is particularly a problem when it turns on while in my pocket.
My phone is set to have no lock screen (and unless you use a PIN or similar, I don't know why you would want a lock screen - it's just one more step to get to using your phone).
My Messaging app is set to show notifications in the notification bar and play a sound and vibrate, but not to show a message preview.
So, I think it's actually a bug that the screen would turn on at all, just from receiving an SMS or MMS message.
Am I missing something? Is there a way to stop this behavior?
