I was trying to update my magic into cyanogenMod (I had this mod before I was just using CMupdater to updating to the lastest version)
and during the applying step, I messed up (step 6) I rebooted my phone accidentaly. Now I have a phone with no OS.
Now how to I go back to the step I was at before? I did flash to the lastest recovery before but I have forgot what is in my SD card. (I have no card reader to read it)

Ah okay...thanks
okay... cool!
I just purchased the phone today and got perma-root with s=off. I tried flashing a nightly build from cm7 and all the phone does now is turn on but gets stuck on the tmobile mytouch 4g start up screen and doesn't go anywhere else. I tried doing some research but no luck. After a bit of reading I can tell you a little about the phone and what I see. I can go to the bootloader by pressing the volume down and power button. It shows the following:

And I have stock recovery...
I don't know how to get this thing operating again. Please Help.
HOW I FIXED IT:
1.I used fastboot to push the correct clockwork recovery(I used a 2.x instead of the 3.x)
2.I reflashed cm7.

Well, if you have stock recovery, you should be able to factory reset from hboot and unbrick that way.

what rom are you trying to recover to? because trying to restore a froyo recovery using CWM3x isnt going to work, but will freeze at the splashscreen. Instead, it requires CWM 2.5.1.2 be restored, then restore the froyo backup from there.
Well ill tell you what i did last night
1) perm root my phone
2) installed clockwork mod 3 onto the recovery manager
3) install the update-cm-6.1.2-RC2-glacier-signed from the manager deleted the file
4) went into recovery flashed the rom and flashed the gapps
5) Rebooted the phone
6) stuck at the splash screen
Also i was running with the stock android
FIXED! Thanks to jmwils3
There is your problem...6.1.2 is a froyo based rom and need cwm recovery 2.5.1.2 and you flashed cwm 3.x which is strictly gingerbread!

not to toot my own horn or anything, but make sure to thank one of the posts of mine, so it actually gives the credit. and Im really glad I could help, Im always glad to help a fellow androidian in need
i too HAD this problem
OK, so i did the same thing, but i didnt have a backup,LIKE AN IDIOT!!! that being said, IF you can get to the Hboot screen, i can walk you through how i fixed it...BUT, i accept no resposablilaty for your phone and the things that you may do to it by these steps!!!
1 hold down volume down and press power
2 volume down to "recovery" and select
this should let you enter clockworkmod recovery (my version) v2.5.1.2
3 pug your phone into your computer via usb cable
4 scroll down to "mounts and storage" and select
5 select "mount USB storage"
6 download a rom compatable with your version of clockworkmod recovery (i used ice glacier v1.6)
7 open the drive on your computer that is your phone and drop the downloaded rom in the root (not in any folder)
8 select "unmount"
9 and this may be over kill, but i wiped the phone again, so "wipe data/factory reset" "wipe cache partition" then go to "advanced" and "wipe dalvik cache" also
10 select "install zip from sdcard" and then "choose zip from sdcard"
11 select the rom you downloaded and let it do its thing...
12 then back out and select "boot system now" and if you are lucky, then you are no longer partially bricked!!!
just a noob that got lucky and wanted to help some noobs, since there are so many tech terms out there... just trying to keep it in "average joe terms"
sorry i didn't see the thanks button xD

Thanks for millions of times!! You saved my life
I have rooted my HTC wildfire with Froyo and now I finally against the following problem. I'm using ROM CyanogenMod Manager 7.0.3 and it put him to create a backup (you can check). Then he goes far from everything and start it again, then there is a blue figure on a skateboard and there is an arrow around it (loading) it keeps happening all the time go and nothing else.
How is this possible?
Did you do a data wipe?
No, how can i do it?
Reboot into ClockworkMod Recovery, Then select Wipe Data / Factory Reset. Then, in staying within Clockworkmod Recovery, select Install Zip from SDCard and select the CM 7.0.3 Zip file.
If I reboot then do it but still loading. (a hat with an orange circular arrow)
Navigate in the recovery with the trackpad not the power button.
Did you see the hboot menu? If not, use the vol down button with the power button.
Hi robinjuuh,
Follow these steps:
1. Switch off the phone.
2. Press Vol Down Key and Power Button
3. You see the HBoot menu and from there press Vol Up/down to navigate to Recovery and Press Power Button to select the option.
4. The Phone now reboots you to ClockworkMod Recovery. Vol Up/down keys to navigate and press trackball to select the option.
5. Select Wipe Data from the main menu.
6. Navigate to advanced -> Wipe Dalvik Cache
7. Go Back by clicking the power button.
8. Select Install zip from SD Card -> Navigate to the cyanogenmod 7 zip file..
9. Press Trackball again to execute it.
10. Wait for 10-15 mins..
You're done.. Don't touch your phone.
Hope this Helps!
My Tmobile mytouch3g is rooted and has a custom rom running. I want to reset it to factory reset and give the phone to someone else. Unfortunately the phone was rooted by my brother about a year ago and he doesn't remember the method used or how to reset. I don't mind flashing a brand new rom on it either. Just need some basic guidance please.
when I turn on the phone by holding the volume and power button this is the info I see... Help please

Easy...
You need check custom recovery. Turn off, then turn on by pressing Home + Power
If you will see something like Amon Ra recovery vX.X or ClockworkMod Recovery - you have custom recovery and can use it to flash custom ROMs
If you will see triangle with '!' - it's stock recovery
But as you have s-off engineering hboot, you simply flash custom recovery through fastboot.exe utility
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (i advice version AmonRa 1.7.0 G )
p.s. Make sure your phone is correct connected to PC
Thank you let me try it... I'll post the update. Thank you very much for the advice. Appreciate that!

I adviced RA Sapphire 1.7.0 G !!!
p.s. In custom recovery choose "flash zip from sdcard" and flash custom ROM for [32B]. But do "wipe data/factory reset" first
