FedEx cutoff time is 6pm for next day, if 'Im correct.
And I'm sure the shippers at HTC are long gone as well.
Only if you pay for Saturday Overnight express, though I think that might be UPS who do that.. but either way, it's way too late for them to ship it out even with a saturday overnight express.
I actually just ordered tonight around 7pm EST and just received my shipment notification for Monday delivery. I am impressed that they are still doing free overnight delivery.

After upgrading my PC, my laptop, my truck, and grabbing a netbook, and already having gotten my G1 (to replace my Hermes), I too am finding it hard to logically justify an N1.
But, damn, do I want it.... And the fact that we were thinking of jumping to VZW already... that might let me justify it.
Or maybe I can venture back to WinMo with an HD2....

Just gotta brag a little bit. The cell phone provider I work for is going to be getting the Nexus One in the near future, and I was picked to test it for them! I should be getting it sometime in the next couple weeks (Upper management is ahead of me on the list), and will only get to test it for a week, but none the less I am very excited! Best of all, I get my handset discount again in March, and I know what I will be using it on!

Yeah, when my manager came in today to tell me I jumped up and down like a little girl! I was only going to get 4 days, but she is giving me 3 of hers just because. It will be hard for me to give it up, very hard! But I will be able to knowing coming March I will be getting my very own, for whatever the after rebate price! Gotta love good job perks!

anyways im hearing the phone itself won't be in sprint stores and you cannot get it serviced at sprint either. you have to buy it online from google and send it in for repairs, is this true? if soo i smell a BIG fail coming. will the phone even be branded with a sprint logo at all?

Well, the problem is that since you bought it from google.com, when you have problems and call Sprint for help, they can say "You have to call Google."
Of course, Google doesn't seem to have any publicly available phone numbers for you to call, so you're stuck with their worthless message boards...
Plus, if the actual hardware craps out, you can't walk into a Sprint store and get it replaced the same afternoon, you have to deal with shipping in two directions and be without a phone for a week....
Or at least that seems to be the major complaint about the N1 currently on the market....

i just think the idea of going without a phone while it's in for repairs is stupid when there are local sprint repair centers. i don't see this going over well with sprint customers if they follow past suit.

if you pay 69.99+ with sprint, you can get the full upgrade every 365 days so by the time that all happens, you can get a DC snapdragon 1.5 right around the corner and still have an EVO

Hang on to your hero then. I still have every phone in my sig as a backup. I'm glad that google is doing SOMETHING to shake up the status quo a bit. Remember if you buy phones that are sold and supported by sprint, you'll have to wait on sprint for things like android 2.1, just like we're doing now. If google is able to get sprint (and other us carriers) to budge from their traditional phone-tied-to-carrier model, it'll just put us one step closer to breaking the wireless phone oligopoly.
Many years ago, you had to buy your land line telephones from your land line provider. They were sold and supported there, and they had very high costs. Then over time, that changed and people bought phones that weren't branded by their carrier. (or supported by them either, omg!). I'm sure it was a very scary time, but think about how ridiculous that sounds today.

You are going to have a difficult time finding a store that sells Sprint service/phones. Most stores do not carry anything Sprint at all, so you've just got to keep trying to call different stores to find one that does.

I may be going to the Evo, we'll see. Sprint offered me a different model phone finally and I'm going to go for the evo. Third hero from them and their repair/refurb people can't seem to get it right... They said I have to pay sales tax on it though, which I found amazingly strange.
I will never leave the Hero forums, though, that was what got me into Android in the first place and I really wish I could still have a hero...
How did you swing that? Im on my 4th defective hero and they told me they will not replace them anymore. That they can only do so many replacements per year. I have insurance too. Oh yeah and if you do get an evo, it will probably ship with the new patch that prevents root. No work around yet either!

And I was pissed enough to be willing to pay the ETF on this line and close my other brand new line if they didn't take care of the issue by sending me a different model phone due to the circumstances. I'e been with them for a little over 3 years now and always been good with my bills and such so they try to keep me happy, and I really do appreciate that. The guy said I could pick the phone so I checked out online and decided to go with the Evo even though I'll probably never get 4g. It's the only other phone comparable to the Hero and that is made by HTC, since I like the HTC product.
Only thing is, though, is that he said they'd be back in stock in approx 2 weeks... well... I leave for vacation on the 21st and if they're back in in exactly 2 weeks, that puts it at the 20th. Plus 2 days for shipping and I'll have a phone sitting outside my garage for 2 weeks.
Can someone who works for Sprint, like a rep I'd get a hold of if I dialed *2, let me know what the expected arrival date is for more Evo's, please? I really need to stay on top of this so I can get it if they come in earlier. I can't have that phone sitting outside for 2 weeks. I'd owe you one if you could do this for me. PM me or whatever!

I'm pretty sure that after 3 or 4 replacements, you're allowed to switch the phone out for a new model... At least that's how it was for my sisters blackberry.

There is no "eta" (sorry) they've been available twice since the first time they sold out for approximately 3 hours both times before they sold out again. I work sprint retention.

ASL - Account spending limit --- your bill usually shows if you are part of the program. You also get a $4.99 fee / month on your bill if your not on auto-pay and part of the ASL program.
You also need to be in an area where its avail. -- its not avail everywhere, http://sprint.com/airave click where is it avail. Put your zip in.
Also don't just ask for one. That's rude. Explain that you don't have signal in your house, your diggin your new phones but dropped calls in home are worth the ETFs to you and the high cost if you can't get your signal in your house, and then see if they will help you out.

The newest OTA was rooted yesterday, huzzah!
There is no way in hell you are going to get an evo from sprint and only pay sales tax. If you did you must be sucking someone off because they wanted to ship me another refurb hero, i told them to shove it. i talked to 6 people and spent 3hrs on the phone with them. one guy actually told me he could get me an evo but of course the dipshi* didn't note the account. i hate sprint with a passion. they told me in the end that they are giving evo's out to no one for free, if you want one you have to pay full price or wait until your upgrade and pay the difference. what a bunch of crap!
Oh well in a few months im sure i will be able to pick one up on craiglist for $150 or so.
FYI this would be my 4th replacement hero in 6 months.
I also didn't mean any offense towards the OP but im pissed right now! I even offered to pay the difference on the evo if they would push my upgrade status up.

Sprint.com is out of stock for them. Getting it replaced when they come back in stock, in about 10 days or so.
I just seen it on Sprint's Website....

My wife got hers last week for $199, wouldn't you know, they lowered the price. I just got off the phone with Sprint and they credited my account the $50.
Of course, if they hadn't, I would have had her return it as "I didn't like it" under Sprints 30 Day guarantee and then gone to Best Buy. She doesn't need 3D and its easier to maintain 2 identical phones.
Best Buy's website has it at $49.99 when I just checked. My NS4G is going back along with the $100 going back in my wallet. I'm within my initial 30 days and this is my second NS4G and the radio still sucks. I didn't want to go with a yr old phone, but it performs great and just got the official GB update so it's still well supported by HTC and Sprint. White Evo 4G will be in my pocket tomorrow.

Lmao ya I know what you mean tho my wife would kill me lol more then happy to just motor boat away with her lol I might not get a discount from Breast Buy but always a great meal from my lovely wife .

Think I may run by the store tho need to get her a better phone EVO would be great . Right now she is using a HTC touch pro 2.

Ya...glad I waited and put off his....Dad, I really need a phone so I can call you when I'm with...well you know the rest LOL. Besides, I'm thinking Hya, no more 'can I talk with...' SOLD!
Almost got him an LG the other day with basic android and no support here, can't wait to finish work and go get another one for ME...no wait..my son. Won't have to wait on Sprint to send me my replacement this week...LOL

Lol I bet he will love the new phone. I was using a crappy clam shell bought this and never will go back. Lmao ya another good reason no more using dads phone.
Done Done and Done....
Went by the local BB this morning and picked one up for him @ $50 was in and out within 15 minutes. Told the guy..."No need to take any more of your time...I'll activate it myself". There were a couple phones having the activation and UPDATE done..
Activated and now rooted..good times.
Went to Sprint to check on my replacement of the replacement EVO (BAD screen) they replaced last Friday..no go and phone calls to customer service etc have yet to get me a NIB phone..will deal with that. Guess I was a little frustrated..on the way out I saw three couples looking at the EVO and proceeded to exclaim..."Might want to go across the street to BB and get yours for $50 instead". Probably should have just kept quiet, but felt better as two of the three followed me out the store.
