Volume Hack - Nexus One General

Anyone know if Meltus' volume hack works with the N1.
I doubt it as they are different versions of Android, but one never knows.
I am too scared of breaking something, else I would try it.

True.
Odds are though that I would partition my SD card somehow and be stuck.
That's just how I roll.

Ok, I am going for it.
I am getting frustrated with how quiet this phone is....
Will post whether sucessful or not.

Ok. Pushed Meltus' files.
It seems to be working. Ran a Youtube video without, had trouble hearing it, and then with it was almost too lound.

see and thats how you roll ne way lol. next time seriously bro. nandroid yourself. it is truly your friend from stupid thoughts that i get i mean we get lol

thanks for testing this, i'd like to try it out. at meltus.androidftw.com i'm looking around and i can't find a clear description of what each of the v1/v2/.../v7 do. do you have any ideas?
more importantly, can a hack like this blow the speaker?
EDIT: actually, i found it under "version info" :-[ but i still would like to know if this has the potential to blow the speaker...

I tried louder Volume hack 2.2.2 and it failed to work which files did you push?

I pushed everything that was in the v2 folder.
On the down side, I have to readjust everything for my car sound system as it messed up the bass and treble balance that I had previously.
As far as I can tell it works.

got a link?

Here that web site your looking for. I think it worked when i pushed all the files....Thanks Meltus

If this works why does Meltus say on his website that he's gone through the 2.1 code and that theres no way his hack works on the Nexus?

i think it did work though lol i just tried it and i seemed to be very satisifed with the volume unlike i was before i pushed the files..maybe its a placebo :/
edit: Its definitely louder

i followed the instructions but i didn't noticed a difference

I got louder volume from a custom overclocking kernel.

Which one?
Do ringtones get louder?

android audio hack?

to all devs: can we please make the in call volume loud as can be on your builds? i know zen incorporated the audio hack in one of his but it still did not do much. the issue is i can barley here the caller im talking to, even with the volume all the way up. its weird becuase the rest of the system volumes are very loud but the earpiece volume is soo low.
^ this and battery life need to be addressed.
Not to rain on your parade or anything, but you probably won't see an answer to this problem for a while because all the devs are working on porting the Tattoo ROM. This will, however, unlock a lot of answers, no doubt. Think of it as the cryptix for the Davinci code of HTC's Android stuff.

You are probably talking about this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=652594&highlight=audio
If they couldn't figure it out, I'm sure it cannot be done.

figured as much. thanks for the fast reply.

Attention rooters!

If I have understood correctly that rooting the X10 gives you access to everything surely one of you clever bods can work out how to increase the in call volume to the levels it is in the "Test mode" ???
There's a file called AudioFilter.csv in /etc (I believe) that may control the phones audio levels. Editing that is probably your best bet for now. I'm not sure if anybody has successfully done this yet or if it even works.

Thanks but my phone is not rooted but I would root it if I thought I could increase the volume levels. I thought that this would be one of the first things that people tried to fix and surprised that nobody has done it yet......
dude if this happens then we don't need SE for S$$t.

I second that. Its ok for normal conditions but at work I canty hear anything without my headset. There was an option available on the stock our liberated rom that allowed you to make the volume much louder
yea I saw this feature on my Liberated ROM and have been using it ever since. Will continue to use it.
