What is the location of the saved files?
I'd like to access the files after they've been downloaded.

I don't mean to resurrect a year old thread here, but I was looking for the default download location because I couldn't find my downloaded files in /sdcard/download.
Apparently the default display settings for EStrongs and Astro file managers are different. EStrongs doesn't show hidden files by default, which is why I couldn't find my downloaded files beginning with a '.'
hi peeps.
i have a question, am i the only one having problems
while trying to download files cabs in all browsers?
by problems i mean, once i hit any download links,
the browser starts to download. but never actually
downloads the contents? thanks in advance.
mmm when you download it do you tell it what folder to store it so you can install it?
thanks for responding.
and no, i just click save and it should automatically save to my documents.
but the .zip or file downloaded regardless of size. just never even start.
theres an icon for it in my documents. but it wont launch, since it didnt
even finish dling. but this only happens in opera.
How do i get it to download all file types, i tried downloading a zip file and it came up with this file is not supported , i have it rooted and have a file manager, it may be simple but i am new to android
do you mean download through a browser?
if you long press the link doesn't it give you an option to save it ?
zip support is built in I think, certainly astro handles them easily.
personally I tend to use xscope-gl (1.6 version) to grab files now as it supports pretty much anything.

Download a program called androzip its safe and it works awesome.
Use another browser as I found the default Android browser wouldnt let me download zip,rar or apk files. Dolphin is a tweaked android browser, which works great. I think you can download an HD version...which might suit the 5" screen better. Check it out before you buy

I wasnt as descriptive I should have been. If you download androzip it makes zip recongizable for download and it will open them as well. Also if you need to send any file over gmail you go through androzip. Open it go to the file tap on it and choose send, no zipping required.
Thanks for all the replys guys downloaded android zip and another browser and all is well thanks
Hello chaps, what browser would you guys recommend for android?

I have downloaded apps from 4shared and worked perfect.
But now when I try to download any apk file it says the file is not supported. And if I force the download it downloads its as .bin
And whatever I do I can't open it.....
How can I fix this.....?
Edit:
After I downloaded an app I manually changed it from .bin to .apk
Do I have to do this everytime?? Why is that? Help please

Please post all questions in Q&A section.
Thanks so much. I had previously installed Astro and had been downloading apk's but then did a factory reset, and reinstalled everything, and couldn't figure out why my apk's weren't installing. such a simple thing caused hours of frustration.
Why won't my stock browser download, works ok on firefox browser on the sgs2
It's a file association thing. Try this...
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.hwkrbbt.downloadall&feature=search_result
It downloads literally anything!
- Download All Files from Market.
- Download Astro File Manager from Market and Enable the download option for Stock browser.
- Just use Opera
Regards.
Wow thanks that worked a treat
