Hd2 wifi router - HD2 General

I tried to connect many instruments to my hd2 while in router mode but only my ipod touch can see the network.
htc touch hd, a notebook and my psp go can't connect no matter how hard I try. and the ipod touch can see the network only if wifi N is disabled.
can anyone of you connect anything else but ipod touch or iphones?

i have my lap top working fine, 1.61 wwe rom.

Search .. I'm tired replying this question again.

Your laptop and other equipment might be set to only display 'Infrastructure'-type networks. Your phone will create a P2P network and therefore might be filtered out by the default settings.
Look if you have those options anywhere.

uhm, I didn't know about this difference, can you please help me find this setting?
I tried on vista, htc touch hd with miri rom (wm6.5) and on psp (but I'm quite sure this one doesn't have that kind of setting)
EDIT: problem solved on pc, it doesn't show the network if it's already connected to another one.
still having problem on psp

htc diamond

I am new to all of this and am havng trouble w/wifi, on the diamond says running, but my laptop dont pick it up
what wifi router program are you using on diamond?
I am using XDA-WiFi sharing , its a free download, Ive tried everything that I could think of and a feww things from the forum from other members, would you have time to walk someone through it, do you have it and does it work for you
Have you tried enabling the G setting of your WiFi and setting the power to best performance? I had to cause my WiFi sucked otherwise.
if you don't have a wifi router it's called wifi adhoc I would google it for quirks on the windows side it's not really something that works out of the box with windows when you dont have a wifi router

HTC HD2 can't see ad-hoc wifi network HELP!

Hi, I am using windows vista, and after set up computer to computer ad-hoc with internet sharing enabled, my HTC HD2 won't detect it? Any solutions?
The obvious.. In the advanced wifi settings on the phone, start by making sure it's set to show both AP and ad-hoc.
I found it, thank you!
I have a similar issue, i don't see any wifi networks in my list but when i look on my laptop or my other phone there are plenty of wifi networks around. Would anyone know what i need to select as my adapter under the Configure Network Adapters... or anything else that might solve my issues?
Thanks

Anyone use WEP or a Pocket PC w/ wifi sharing to their Tab?

I can't seem to get my Tab to recognize the WEP WiFi internet sharing network that is on my Tilt2 (Rhodium) WMPPC. My netbook, my two full-sized notebooks, and my desktop all can simultaneously connect to the WM phone (in fact I am right now on this netbook to post this), but for whatever reason the Galaxy Tab can't even find the WEP network my WM phone is generating much less connect to it.
The entire reason I bought the Tab was to connect to my WM phone like the phone was a mobile wireless router. ???
Anyone had this issue? I'm sure a number of you came from a WM phone and used wifi router feature. And the Tab looks like it supports WEP networks and encryption.
Update: installing a warlogger style applet on the Tab called "Wifi Tracker" finds the WM-generated WEP nework. So is it Samsuing's native wifi setup that blows?
It finds my WM network as [WEP][IBSS].

I know this doesn't help you one iota, but for what it's worth, my Tab can pick up HTC Desire as a mobile Hotspot without issue. I normally use WPA2, but I just tried using WEP and I had no problems either.
So, I don't think there's anything intrinsically "wrong" with the Tab, though I have a Euro Tab running the very latest JMA firmware which may be significant.
If I had an WinMo phone to test with, I'd give it a go, but I don't, so I can't!
I presume that your WinMo phone is created a proper access point, and not an adhoc (point-to-point) network?
EDIT: Ok, just googled and found that IBSS means it is an ad-hoc network, and not an access point which means that "out of the box" Android devices can't attach to it.
This thread may help you.

Wifi problem on my hd2

I just got an HD2 (flashed windows 7) and when I try connecting it to my home network, it will say connecting and then after a while it shows "Connection Unsuccessful"
I have a linksys wrt610n router, and i even tried resetting the router but still the problem persists.
First I thought it might be a phone issue, but it was connecting perfectly fine to the local library's hotspot and a starbucks hotspot. So that means, it's definitely something wrong with my house network that it won't let me connect.
All the other devices : ipod touch, laptop, xbox 360, connect fine to the network.
Please help me with this issue, as I am using HD2 without a data plan so without wifi,i cant fully use the functionalities of hd2.
Thanks.
Is your ssid hidden? Wp7 has troubles with that, you could try the wp7 section without sounding cocky, there is a couple of threads mate about it, more help in there.
Sent from my HTC Leo using XDA Premium App
Yeah, even before flashing the rom the same problem existed. I think it's something wrong with my network, as I am able to connect perfectly fine with at a starbucks hotspot.
And no it's not hidden. The networks visible and the name of the network is with spaces -> cow boy , does that make a difference?
do you have mac filtering or anything turned on liked that in the router setup ??
do you have any crazy characters in the password like %^& ??? that could be a prob not sure also check these out looks like it could be a sd card problem, have you ever had it connect using android or winmo 6.5???

[Q] Setting HTC HD Mini Wi-Fi Router

Hi all,
I seem to have some problems with setting my Wi-Fi Router. I sometimes need it for my work, so i can use that Wi-Fi for my portable. I can set it up, but theres no chance i can find the wi-fi. I already tried with different types of portables with no luck. When a guy from my work does it on his HTC HD2 then i can find his wi-fi? Anyone any idea?
I haven't installed a custom rom. Its all ROM's from HTC itself.
