Weird glitch with Touch X Task Manager - HD2 General

Hi,
I installed Touch X Task Manager which seems to work like a charm but on the "Home" tab I get a weird glitch.
When I push the upper right corner to get the tasks list to appear and then close it again the clock does it's "flip" animation, as it would if you were for example unlocking the phone and the weather animation starts.
Is this normal and is there anyway to disable it when using the task manager?
TIA.

That is normal.
For whatever reason, closing the task manager refreshes the home tab, therefore causing it to do the "show off our clock" rubbish that HTC thought was a good idea.
There's a cab in this thread called "Touch_X_Homescreen_Flip_clock_OFF".
It stops the clock flip, but not the weather animation. Also, the weather animation plays every time the clock flips. This also bugs me, but not as much as that -1 hour and 2 minutes rubbish did.
Hope that helps

Cheers mate.
I saw this before bu I'm assuming that cab disabled the "refresh flip" entirely, I don't mind it in general but it was a little annoying when it happens everytime you open/close the task manager!!
Hrm, I might live with it for now, if it bugs me to the point of distraction then I will install the cab!

Am I the only one not annoyed by the clock flip? It just doesn't get to me...

You can also get rid of the weather animation if you chose the animated wallpaper setting in the manila settings tab, ( you can still chose a non animated wallpaper) or your current wallpaper and this will get rid of the weather animations, but keep the weather pics, from home (not weather) screen. It may sound a bit confusing but I managed to get rid of both annoyances.

Weather effect on home screen

I just installed new official 6.5 rom so I will see how it goes on my TD2.
My question is: how do you activate that weather effect on whole screen, rain drops, clouds etc.?
It show 2-3 times at my home screen, don't know what I pressed, but is there any way to get that effect when I like? (so I can make fun with my iPhone friends ). Seriously, is there how to activate it?
It go automatic after weather update tab for home city...
No, it still doesn't work for me.
It showed 2-3 times when I installed new ROM, but since then I cannot see that effect, no matter if I update weather forecast.

tap on the programmlist on the taskbar and close it
If you hit the windows button, and afterwards the back button you'll get the animation for the current weather condition.
cheers
It also runs the animation if you hold the "Home" button when on the Home Tab to lock the screen and then unlock.
For some reason it only works with the default wallpaper though.
Niall
I was going nuts when trying to get the damned effects _off_ and custom wallpaper did the trick!
Yes, I tried everything, close it, windows/back, it didn't work.
I works ONLY with default wall paper!!
Damn, I just installed wallpaper changer
Guess that this is bug then or not

On the home page, do Menu, Home Wallpaper, Animated Wallpaper, and just pick the background of your choice. You can select animated ones, or just browse to a static image of your choice.
Edit:
I just thought, if you mean the small animation that's on the clock, I've got no idea! The description above gets rid of the weather animated background.
I'm not sure about the question too .. anyway if he meant the background, yes, that is the way.
However I'd like to get rid of the weather altogether.
the thing is when i first got the phone there was no weather at all on the clock calendar thing, but i want to get rid of that, i find it quite distracting
anyway ive just turned it on now for teh sake of peace, its annoying,

It probably wasn't there at first because it's set to use "my location" as default, and that generally doesn't work, so you get no weather.
o yeah thats right, if its my location nothing happens, it makes sense because after i deleted my location thats when it started happening, makes sense !! finally thank god
No weather animation on clock can be disabled

Disable Weather display

Hello,
I have seen a great deal of posts on the improvement of the Weather display / animation. Even some complaining about or applauding its functionality. Oddly though I have not seen any that ask if it can be removed entirely.
I know this is personal choice but for me I don't want any weather to be displayed at all. Can this be achieved?
Cheers.

Do you mean the wallpaper animation, or the animation on the clock?
On the clock.I would really prefer no weather at all on my home screen.

Fair enough. I know how to remove the animated wallpaper, but not the bit on the clock.
I'm sure someone on here must be able to help you though.
To disable weather animation.
1 - go to HKCU/Software/HTC/Manila
and change "HomeWallpaperMode" from "0" to "2" you will end up having your static wallpaper but without weather animation.
or
2 - just select animation wallpaper and choose one of your static ones.and that is it!
Credits go to Polystirenman. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=600528
Neither work. The registry change you mentioned is already set to 2. Actually I did that earlier whilst trying to find a solution. Whatever wallpaper I choose I still see the weather.
Not sure you understood my question completely though. I want to get rid of the weather entirely not just the animation.
Plus one on this .. all this weather mania is beyond me ..
no weather on home 4 me too
me too
i would like to get rid of that too, aleady seen in leo themes section under transparent clock and slider but got no response in how to do that
anybody please?

Tried that thanks. All that did was change my wallpaper. Tried changing it to 2 also. Can't remember what the default was anymore though.
Ok people .. once again .. this thread is about disabling ANY WEATHER INFORMATION on home screen. Not just the wallpaper.
HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\HTCServices\WeatherService\WeatherService.dll
Rename to WeatherService.dll.back then soft reset. Rename back to restore.
I have created a cab file for it for those who are interested.
Oh yes indeed. Many thanks that is just right!
It works .. just don't try 'weather settings' from the menu !

Definetely good trick.. Thanks
But i'm noticed "world clock" feature also disabled with this setting..
I noticed that too. I suspect they're connected and it's unavoidable.
I do it in a different way. I dont like the bugie effect of disabling the weather DLL.
You can disable "my location" and choose my location as your default clock.
When you update the weather, it will not be updated for "my location" and in this way you get a cleaner home screen.
Whenever you want, you can choose your favorite location and get the weather info for it.

[Q] weather widget not in widget list?

i mean the one on our homescreen by default.
if i go to the add widget list then straight away there's the accuweather one. if i add that all i get is a 2x1 widget and not the 4x1 that's there by default. i mean, if i removed it how would i get it back?

yea, just got it. but OMG is that annoying to resize. in LP/adw it's easy, this thing has a mind of it's own on whether i get that yellow box or not. seems freaking random!
anyhoo, what i'm trying to do is move to adw launcher and alls fine apart from the weather widget and the task manager
resizing the weather widget in adw doesnt work properly (big gap in middle) and i assume that the task manager is like HTCs apps? only shows in their launcher?

edit
hmm, never mind. adw launcher lagged like crazy

It's exactly the same for me in TW and LP
hmm, i tried go launcher as well but that's the same.blue square in the middle that's empty. weather is forced to the far right.
weird
The TW widgets only work properly in TW.
The trick to getting in Resize mode is simple. You just put the widget on the homescreen. Then tap and hold it for 2 to 3 seconds (you know, a long press). But dont move at all during that tap and hold. Hold it STILL for a moment, and then drop. It will then go in resize mode.
I dont know if I explained it right. But I always get to resize when I want, not random at all lol

Explanation was useful ... I even will manage to learn it some day LOL
It's dammed difficult !
What ? You can resize the widgets ? But it's pretty tricky ! Well .. why make it simple ?

Only very few Widgets (AccuWeather) supports resizing ... maybe that's why it's so difficult to use this feature LOL
tommo123 i think the weather widget that you are talking about is not the accuweather one. the one that comes default with the phone is a widget called "News & Weather", it will display the 1x4 widget directly. keep scrolling in the widgets towards the end and u will find it.
regards.
yea tried that too. it is the accuweather one but when you stretch that with the defaul launcher it looks ok. but not using other launchers.
using fancy widget at the mo though

[Q] Cannot delete broken/ghost widget on homescreen

Hey, everyone,
I just developed a problem on my Evo Shift that's driving me nuts: when I go to my homescreen from my lockscreen, the weather portion of the HTC Sense clock widget (shining Sun in this instance) shows up on top of everything, then disappears after a few seconds. I've tried grabbing it to delete it, but once I touch the screen, the Sun/widget disappears and I'm taken either to an app I touch or to the Personalize screen. I'm not rooted and running Sense. My homescreen has no widgets on it, only apps. I've tried changing the scene and the skin, but to no avail. I've also tried to delete data on HTC Sense via Manage Applications, but again, no luck.
I've searched through the forums here and while a few have posted about broken widgets, none seem to address this particular problem (part of a widget appearing on top of everything else). I'm at a total loss here.
Thanks.
That's not a widget, that sounds like you are describing the weather animations that is part of sense. I do believe there is an option to turn off the weather animations, but not 100% sure as I mainly use aosp not sense.
Sent from my PG06100 using Tapatalk
On some versions of Sense (not sure if this applies to Froyo), you are given the option to enable/disable the weather animation when you add the clock widget.
Delete the clock widget, re-add it, and see if you have the animation option.
Go to settings, then display and in there you can disable all animations if you want
Thanks for the replies, guys. I tried all those and nothing worked. But on another forum, I found the answer:
I have LockerWidget installed. In its settings under "Look & Feel," there's a setting called "HTC Weather Animations." If you set that to "Disabled," the annoying animations stop.
Again, thanks for the quick replies and offers of help.
