I am looking for the official ROM version 4.24.422.1 .
If there isn't one available, is there a way I can dump my current ROM as a SIGNED nbh?(Would be exactly like the one supplied by HTC) I don't want to have to modify the bootloader at all to burn a rom image that isnt official.
Thanks

I am looking at ROM's and I found a few but I wanted to see what the difference is between shiped and a ROM that doesn't state it.
Is it an edited ROM?
Like these two.
Sorry if it's a noob question but I couldn't find the answer.

As far as I am aware SHIP would normaly indicate that it is a complete working tested ROM. This will be the ROM that would appear on a new device assumming it was purchased after the ROMs release date.
e.g you buy a new imate jasjar and this will be the ROM it should be shipped with.
The other ROM example you give is of an old ROM.
so WWE means World Wide English _13076 is the OS ROM _164_ is the extended ROM (added games, apps etc) _10900 is the Radio ROM(bluetooth, signal etc)
Hope this helps
I just got a used and unlocked AT&T 8525 with WM6 installed. How do i tell whether this is an official release or a bootlegged ROM upgrade?
hmm, that's a little hard, but i guess one way of telling is if there's that super annoying loud startup sound, then its 99% most likely the original at&t rom. any of the cooked rom will most likely have that statup sound removed.
go to start>settings>system>about device. This tells you what rom you are using. most stock roms will have their name on it. for example, my rom version is 3.62.03.dvh. this ISNT a stock rom as I'm with Telstra. Also the extended rom might be weird too. Hope this helps... Cheers
Sorry, still out of it from saturday night... I meant to say most stock roms just have a series number. cooked roms generally have their name on the rom...
my ROM version is 2.15.502.3
looks like it could be stock rom as most cooked roms have there own label. Also, does it have a lot of apps for AT&T as I can guarantee no cooked os would have this. The chefs take what is good and leave the bloat (network oriented apps). Cheers....
I just bought hero and i am delighted with it
I heard that new ROM version is much better than the old one (i have 1.76.405.6)
What is new in newer version, and can i just download RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_2.73.405.5_WWE_release_signed_NoD river.exe and flash it with that or i must be careful with something?
For the most part, the newer version is just a significant speed bump to the original.
Rather than applying an RUU update, I'd be more inclined to apply a custom recovery image and one of Modacos ROMs.
Regards,
Dave
It also has scandinavian language support
If i want to applay RUU update, that will automaticly install ROM on my hero? (like on Touch HD)
Why would you rather applay a custom recovery image and one of Modacos ROMs, and how to do that? My hero is new and i dont want to do something wrong or bad..
To do what is not written in front of you is living...........

If you don't know why, you probably shouldn't be on these forums!
Seriously though - read some threads and do some research.

Dave
The official RUU update will apply the update automatically. If you're not sure about applying a custom ROM then the official one is worth installing. Installing a custom ROM will require a couple of extra steps though.
Asd foxmeister says, read, read read.
Ok, thx for replay and help
haha! I met a guy today at my phone market in the same boat as you I offered to give him my Hero with the newest update and 500RMB to have his and he wouldn't bite. Fortunately my vendor loves me and she is now looking for another hero with the 1.76 ROM for me
There is nothing wrong with the updated phone. In fact it works great. You just need to decide what is best for you.
Hi,
I noticed that Brazilian HTC Magic support page have a rom update for 2.1
http://www.htc.com/br/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=272&cat=2&dl_id=1065
this update is not as RUU but as a ZIP file, any rom moders can check this? Is this rom better than the one that already exists for Rogers HTC Magic? The update is dated from 2010-12-13
I have download it.Use winrar to zip it.I think, can just use recovery update boot.img,radio.img,system.img,so do not lost my root.
just put this in the SD card, turn on the magic with "volume" pressed and follow the steps. The rom is great, fast and stable, no problem untill now.
sorry for my bad english.
what devices this rom support? only brazilian htc?
Should work on any 32A. Upgrade to the new radio/spl using the radioswitcher and flash the system, boot and userdata images from fastboot. Or wait for someone to build a ROM based on this, but since it's the same main version as the Rogers one I'd doubt someone will.
Is this rom multilangual??
then i will flash this one an i have warranty, because it is a offical htc rom. so i can say the support, i've download it form your page
edt:
doh!! modell id incorrect... at the end on my 32a..
Is there a way to backup the original ROM before upgrading to custom ROM? Should I look for a original ROM type to see if there is one in the thread with original ROMs? How to check for a radio ROM version, and how to keep the old one?
how to use the search function on xdadevelopers forums?
Sadly I just looked on the HTC/UK website and there in no HD2 left, its still on the US site if you have a Tmous version
