hi all im kinda of new around here. i have been learning and reading everything all of you have done and it has taught me alot.
My question is im using arcsoft 3.0.26.11c(same version blee used in his custom rom) and i can not seem to get my mms to work at all what so ever.
is there anyone here willing to help me out or atleast point me in the right direction.
THANK YOU
really no one?
MMS isn't supported on the Touch, and never was officially. You used to be able to download a 3rd party program, like Arcsoft, and get it to work. However, Sprint has blocked even that on its servers, so there is nothing we can do. Google "sprint touch mms" and you should find a million posts on the subject.
*EDIT*
This will save you the Google: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=11158&highlight=mms

Its sending for you? Sprint supposedly blocked it so you couldn't send. I haven't tried it in a while, but once they blocked it everyone started getting a "message delivery failed" message when trying to send.
To receive you should just be getting a text message with a link in it to Sprint's PictureMail...that has nothing to do with the Arcsoft app.
why would i get a link to sprints mail when it is on cricket like i had mentioned in the title.
i am so confused.
Hi,
I have cricket, and had the same problems you are describing with my touch and my titan.
The solution was to:
a) use a ROM with an MMS client built-in, or
b) create your own ROM with an MMS client built-in (added to OEM folder)
If I installed MMS using a .cab, I would not receive anything, regareless of version of Arcsoft I chose. My phone would wake up, status icon would go EV-->1X-->EV, and no notification, ever. If I cook a ROM with the same version of Arcsoft built-in, it works fine. I'm still a terrible cook, and enjoying every minute of it! It's actually enjoyable working through the issues I think most people have building their first ROM (none were MMS related). Compared to tracking down why MMS can not receive when installed onto an unsupported device using a cab.
I recommend Arcsoft 4.2.8.1 or newer, so you do not have the problem of the respawning X-Alltel-MDN/X-VzW-MDN registry items in WspHeader.
i am using a built in arcosoft.... i am so lost any more help would be greatly appreciated
Hi there. Firstly I would like to wish all of the members of the forum a Happy New Year!
I have been running my HTC universal with the TOMAL v85 WM61 20764 rom image for some time now and find it exceptional, however, now my wife has moved into the 20th century and is capable of sending MMS messages I notice that there is no MMS capability to send or receive on my Universal.
Does anyone know how to install the O2 MMS App for the Universal? I have the original ROM image that came with the Universal, but do not have the knowledge of how to strip the app out.
Any pointers would be extremely appreciated!

ok just install the following app....
Thanks for the reply Rajivshahi, but this app was not designed for Windows Mobile 6.1 and does not appear in the Programs list.
Does/did anyone else have this issue on the O2 network? How do you receive MMS messages?
I have done a search on this topic, both here and in general web pages and can only find details of thesettings to use, however, when I go to messaging I do not have an MMS section, only SMS and email.
Yours perplexed....

It's normal, ... just go to text message and click new then you will get get 3 option Voice mail, MMS and SMS. choose one and start sending.... go to menu in text screen to adjust the setting....
I have read all over these forums that many are having issues sending MMS's.
I have tried numerous android builds. Darkstone's builds are my favorite. I am using a T9193 on ATT in the USA. And I have never successfully sent an MMS. I can receive them.
While doing a speedtest to check my speeds with the new darkstone froyo v2.1 I got on average 1400 down and 15 up. I believe all builds have issues with very slow upload speeds. There lies the issue.
When I attempt to send a 300k pic through MMS the message times out and cannot be sent. Most of us have seen the forever sending but never sends issue. So I attempted to send a 10k pic through MMS. And what do you know, it sent. So I tried another and it sent. If you could keep the larger MMS from timing out they would eventually send.
So the issue is not that we have incorrect APN or MMS settings, it is that the upload speed is just too low at the moment. So when the devs get our upload speed fixxed we will all be able to send MMS messages through android. I hope this sheds some light on the subject of MMS messages not sending.
To answer my own post. After I successfully sent the small 10k messages, I can now send larger MMS messages quickly. What is up with that?
Edit: the new larger MMS pics were not larger in size. They were png images which were also about 10k. False hope.
aye this actually worked lol
interesting. so wifi would be better if we try to send a larger pic mms?
Seems to make no difference when using wifi. I tried to send a 300k mms using wifi but it was "sending" for an hour before I finally cancelled it myself. Quite possibly at least with ATT that MMS messages send over cellular data anyways.
I've also got issues sending mm messages except I'm on t mobile and using at mobile issued HD2.
I'm using mattc's 1.5b build and both incoming and outgoing messages are capped to 8kb.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Mine receive and send fine. I'm on T-Mobile using darkstone v2.1
Sent from my HD2 running Froyo.

i'm with you. i'm on att and i can't send, receive is completely fine. i'll try sending a small pic and seeing if it works
EDIT: just tried a 39.2KB pic and no go..........THEN tried a < 5KB pic and BOOM! sent!
EDIT 2: still can't send anything over 10KB even after multiple sends. definitely has to do with upload speed and/or latency
i cant remember where i saw it...but there was one of the devs that enabled ppp data in the smd1 and this was supposedly making data work perfectly..no packet loss at all up or down. This was awhile back and dont know why this feature never got implemented in any of the builds. I bet this would fix our problem. I'm gonna do some searching and see if i can find what im talking about here..lol
*edit* Here is the link, dont know how we can get our hands on this: http://git.linuxtogo.org/?p=groups/...it;h=2e866a70a6eea4a9a31d4954572ba100151513d5
I had issues with sending MMS until I deleted the appropriate APN and recreated it. Even though the settings appeared to be identical.
It's worth a shot if you haven't already tried it.
Is there any solution to the problem of sending and receiving MMS in CyanogenMod

It is constantly sending. Do not send or receive MMS. The APN is correct. I lowered the maximum message size to 300k according another colleague has told me because I am not t-mobile. I do not know if any modification needs to be done in the buildprop. Otherwise it is the best build I've tried ...I know there are more people outside the U.S. that has had the same problem ...
it sounds like either A) your APN settings are incorrect, or B) your trying to send it from a bad signal area.
having same problem, using simple mobile, all settings are correct. if i try to send anything it stacks with "sending" for like 20-30 minutes than says sending failed. user agent set to NexusOne, i am not complain abt receiving 3kb mms anymore, but only for sending.
But only happens in the build CyanogenMod of Americanandroid. In the build MCCM 4.0 DesireHD send and receive MMS Without problems with the same APN
Thanks anyway....
you have 2 threads open for this issue now
When I send an MMS message it works fine as verified by the recipients. When I receive replies to that MMS though, some return into the MMS thread while others start a new SMS thread between me and the one other person. The people who I have problems with are using verizon although some people on verizon are working for me.
I tried to find a similar problem which I know must exist but I couldnt find any threads.
I am using t-Mobile monthly 4G with the PA ROM.
