When my HD2 is on standy-by mode, whenever I receive an SMS, the phone just wont react - unless I switch off standy-by and wait about 40sec, only then I will receive the sms.
Anyone else with this problem?
Ok I found out how to solve this problem:
Go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL
Locate DisableSMSWakeUpEvent entry, and change its value to 0 (the value is 1 by default).
I've found out that it was Kaspersky's firewall which was blocking the access of incoming SMS when on sleep mode!
(BUT if you have a related problem, the above mentioned should always work)

Occasionally, I am unable to turn off the red notificaiton LED after receiving an SMS or a reminder from the calendar.
Usually, viewing the sms, calendar entry or missed calls list will solve the problem, but once in a while I can not find a way to turn it off.
Is there a utility to do this - or could someone write a program - it must be really simple (I assume..). My only solution at the moment is to do a reset.
Regards
Michael
go into settings for notifications and the exit them. that will do the trick.
beside its pretty anoying anyway.
I have a problem with my Himalaya, but this might be an WM6 problem also.
When my device is switched off (so in standby) and I receive an SMS, the device does not notify me that a new SMS arrived (doen't ring, blink). I receive the SMS when I turn the device on next time. I'm sure that the SMS should be received earlier because of the timestamp. I also tried this by sending a message from another mobile to myself.
What might be the cause for this? I can receive calls while the device is switched off.
how are sounds and notifications in settings set for on recieve sms?
For "Messaging: New text message" I have:
"Play sound" set to some standard-sound (Alarm5)
"Display message on screen"
"Flash light for no limit" and
"Vibrate" set.

Hi. try to search for the smsalertfix.cab patch and install it. Make sure it is on your startup folder so that it always starts when you do a soft reset.
It has helped me with that problem.
Hi all,
I can't seem to change the settings for the notification of SMS and e-mail messages. Both seem to make the device come out of standby, play the notification sound, and show the blinking green light. It's annoying, and I can't seem to be able to change it (even with the TD2 tools).
Any one with the same issues?
Thanks
Have you turned off notifications for SMS in Sound Settings? Also, there's a cab floating around called SMS tools or something that may have this tweak.
or
Use a regsitry editor and go to the key:
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL
Set DisableSMSWakeUpEvent to 1
If the entry does not exist, you will have to create it.
Hi guys!
I have MDA Vario II with DarkVisions 5 final rom, sim and cid unlocked.
My problem is that I can't get SMS Delivery Notification to work. Tried to google and went all through this forum, but no luck.
I have created HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings
Dword key name “SMSDeliveryNotify” and set the value to 0x000001
“SMSAvailable” and set the value to 0x000001
“DisableSMSDeliveryReceipt” and set the value to 0x000000
Further
I have created HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings
Dword key name “SMSNoSentMsg” and set the value to 0x000000
Also did MENU -> TOOLS -> OPTIONS -> select SMS/MMS -> request delivery notification
Soft reseted the device.
When I write new SMS I see checkbox checked and I send SMS. If phone is near PC speaker I can hear that SMS went. Also second phone to which SMS was sent was near the speakers and also heard when SMS came to it. After that I hear that MDA is receiving something (I suppose delivery report), but there is no notification whatsoever on it. It's just like it's filtered somehow.
Anyone has a clue what else I can do?
If you have a Advanced Config. Tool. You can go to the Messaging Tab, and enable it. If you dont have one, you can search it through the forum.
Hello
i have an issue with the sms notification, everytime i receive a new sms/mms, the notification pops up and then disappear after only 1 sec.
This does only happend with sms/mms, not with email or calendar.
can someone help ? can i change something in the reg ?
i have artemis 8.0 (great rom )
Thanks
there is a key that may be worth you having a tinker with.
HKLM/system/shell/notification/OEM/reminder
the key is called 'EnableAutoDismiss' and i think defaults to 1. I set mine to 0 using my personal config cab.
