I installed the cab but it doesn't remove the duplicate links in the Start Menu.

The cab is to prevent it from reappearing every time you restart your phone.
To remove the shorcuts, you will need to remove the file manually.
Go to file explorer,
My Device > Windows > Start menu > Programs
Then, remove HTC Music, etc ... that you don't want to be there.

Does anyone know what the last three do? I searched the forums and never found a clear answer.

Services.lnk has to do with SPB apps. I have it linking to \Windows\spbservices.exe.
Anyone know what custTDYTSK.exe deals with??...and also, do we need it??
I think sddaemon.lnk is for voice tags. I don't us the tags and deleted this shortcut

I use tags and deleted it...no problem, it relaunches when you use voice-dial

i always delete everything in the startup folder when i flash a new rom except capsnotify, and i never have any problems

Hey guys..i'm back with another n00b question! haha
Anyway..i was wondering how to delete a folder from the program screen on my phone (the start>program screen)
Well..the thing is, i once installed iContact..then i uninstalled the app but the icon and folder were not deleted..now that i reinstalled the app i have 2 folders in the program section both with the same iContact icon inside and both working..
[ Programs & Programs(1) are the folders i have now..]

a friend of mine just got his SE Xperia, and asked me to install the TouchFLO 3D application on his phone.
During the installation, I accidently removed his 'Media Xperience' and 'Xperia Radio' panels (in start -> settings -> system -> remove programs).
Is there any chance I can get these back? Is there any place I can find the .cab files, or do I have to hard-reset his device?
Ouch, hmm only way as of now is to get access to the extended rom on the device and manually reinstall the cab files. Havent seen anyone posting the files for the internal panels yet.
If not I suggest backing up his files using ppcpimbackup and do a hardreset and redo from scratch and restore his files (contacts, sms, and etc) back.

I have SPB Shell 3.0 in my diamond and I have problem. I copy my contacts from SIM to phone. Now I have all contacs double in "Contacts" in "Home". What I must doing to hide contacts from SIM?

You have to use nikisimfix (attached), I don't remember where I found it.
Softreset the phone after the install.

have you tried dupe de dupe from modaco?

You can use sktools, but it's not free.

22. Hide SIM Contacts: HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone - create a new DWORD value named "ShowSim" and set it to 0
It is better to try finding programm to solve this problem because manually is a long process
dupeDedupe that was mentioned earlier is an easy way to erase the duplicate contacts, also by using advanced configuration you will be able to hide the sim contacts. alternatively, by using sim backup, you could delete all your contacts via the menu option then restore them via active sync etc

But I don't have double contacts in the same memory. In my opinion this application erase double contacts if double contacts be in the same memory. Yes?

I can't try this method because in my diamond were I have SPB Shell 3.0 don't work registry manager. I have FdcSoft TaskMgr and this application don't work. Maybe you know what application this type work in SPB Shell 3.0?

Erase contacts of SIM card it simple method but what application is the best to copy contacts of SIM card to PC in your opinion?

Been following the thread, I thought, must of missed that one, so I tried it and it does not work, no biggy for me, I only have around 40 contacts.
i use a hide sim contacts cab, but everytime i soft reset i have to run the cab again!

in order to sort the icons in the program tab (pressing the windows symbol under manila) i deleted a few of the icons, eg. 'settings'. now i can not add them anymore since they are not shown if i choose add..

Re-install the missing programs.
both answers are wrong.
i found the solution, just install the following cab and the start-program display is set back to standard!
does this cab do anything else but repairing the start-display? I don't want to mess up any other settings of my system which is a 1.40.162.2 (49069) GER Vodafone
