Elfin looses screen alignment - Touch GSM General

hi
i have a elfin
it looses the screen alignment after a few minutes
i have done hard reset of the phone twice but to no avail.
sometimes it remains fine for a few hours and at other times it just gets misaligned after a few minutes. Manual screen alignment (when i am lucky enough to get to that menu ) helps but only for a few minutes and sometimes for a couple of seconds....
can anyone help me in solving this issue

The touchscreen must be broken...
take it to an authorized service center and have it checked out and repaired

Big problem with my D810/Trinity

I am quoting a fellow user's problem which happened to me as stated. I had to send my unit into the service center which they claimed that they had to reloaded everything but resulting the sytem to hang after that, and had to replace a brand new motherboard: Can someone enlightent me why did it happen and how to prevent such things from happening again.
I am encountered a problem with my D810.
I was loading a Sudoku game and after that my touch screen stopped responding, and the TODAY pull-down menu kept flashing on and off. But all the buttons working fine.
Tried to realign screen, but problem kept recurring, even after removing the new programs installed.
Soft reset many times, yet to do hard reset.
When connected to PC, the connection only established for a short while and dropped off after a while!
Now things got worse, my PC now can't recognise my D810 at all.
Could some one please help out here?
Thank you.
Not sure about the PC but sometimes a screen protector can get between the case and screen and it can put pressure near the start menu. Also, the actual phone case can do this on rare occasions. Check for clearance with paper. Hope that helps.

Problem: Flickering Screen

My father's Hermes has a problem, maybe you guys can help: Now for the second time the screen just began to flicker, as if the picture was interlaced, and the colours are off (see attached picture). The second time it happened while the camera software was running, but without obvious reason.
The first time it happened a hardreset (but only that) helped, now the second time even a hardreset doesn't help. Interestingly the screen was ok for a moment after the device was switched off over the night, but after 2-3 seconds the screen began flickering again and it didn't stop yet. Any ideas what this might be?
Ok, I found this out: It seems to be a hardware problem, because when I open or close the device with a hard push then sometimes the screen gets ok again, and other times when I open/close it it starts flickering again. So I should open the device and take a closer look at the connections between keyboard- and display-part of the device (or, regarding my repairing skills, maybe rather take it to the repair center...).

Align screen

My Trinity constantly "get out of alignment", probably not ROMdependent as I tried more than one and the problem didn´t go away. I´ve replaced the screen once.
After reboot everything is well for about 5 minutes, then it´s out of alignment again.
What to do?
HPN
...send it back for repair? it is probably a hardware issue...sometimes, a false contact works when the device is cold, and stops when the chips get warm....

Touchscreen not responding after only 2 days

After only 2 days the phone froze. After soft reset the touchscreen and the front 4 buttons stopped responding. Tried several hard resets with no luck. I left the battery out for several hours, which let me finish the calibration process. The touchscreen worked for about 30 seconds, now it's dead again.
It's running the stock Dutch rom. Provider says they can't replace it and repairs can take up to 4 weeks.
Is there anything else that can be done before I send it back?
I don't think you have other options... if you have done a hard reset and still not working, send it back.
I figured i'd try to turn it on one more time before sending it back... what do you know, it works better than ever now (for 1h at least). This thing is driving me crazy.
Does anyone with more knowledge about touchscreens have any idea what might cause the part that's detecting the taps malfunction for a period of time and then fix itself?
I have another problem, I can see the sensors of the touchscreen (they should not be visible) even when screen is turned on. It affects image quality, because I see small green dots when I have a white background, it looks like dust and when I try to remove it, I realize it's not dust...
Still don't know if I should send it to the service, because it would take 4 weeks and I don't know how the world-warrant works. Hope you can resolve your issue or have a better tech.support near you.

Touchscreen Unresponsive After Sleep

Anyone else have this problem? Sometimes, if the screen goes to sleep, when I wake it back up, the touchscreen is unresponsive. I have to soft reset to get it to start up again. Any ideas on how to fix it?
I had the same problem, and flashed another rom, and problem gone.
Hello guys,
I was just searching through the forum with this exact problem and found this thread.
If the phone wakes up from sleep the touchscreen is unresponsive for a few seconds. If I insist to press it it only takes longer for it to respond. This is a very big problem because I sometimes miss calls because I can't answer them. Not even the for hard buttons don't work (maybe because they are also touchscreen).
I've tried flashing different ROM's (Miri, Dutty, NRG) even flashed back to the standard one and again back to a 6.5 one (as I saw this step fixes a lot of problems for some people) but the result is the same. I'm running out of ideas.
I don't think it's a hardware issue because if i leave the phone until the backlight dims and touch it, it goes back on, so it registers the press but doesn't act on it.
It's a very serious and I'm hoping someone here has a solution.
Nobody else is having this issue? Is there no hint on what is going wrong with our phones?
It appears it's happening more and more often and the screen is dead for more and more time.
Hi
I have had the same problem but solved tonight
There are many threads about this but no real solution I tried them all.
My first HD lasted till last week when I had to replace it because of a "Newton Ring" problem. In 10 months of ownership I got a screen freeze maybe 5 times.
My new replacement arrived last Saturday - same original Orange Rom and radio.
I have loaded exactly the same programs from the old phone and have found that when I put it in sleep mode via the power button its a 50/50 chance of it waking up. Receiving a text message does not wake it up either.
I can hear the volume control working and the haptic buttons provide feedback - but black screen. If I hold the power button down I get the bleep to ask if I want to power the device off - then all goes dead. If I wait 5 minutes the haptic buttons/volume buttons work again and the screen comes alive revealing the yes/no option to power off.
Also strange whilst in this locked state the orange charging light comes on - when it goes off I know i can wake the screen up !
I tried :
Enabling and disabling the Today Screen timeout
Auto adjust backlight off and on
Different screen brightness
Manual/default operator selection
Checked HD Tweaks settings were correct in registry and things I can't remember.
What has worked :
Start - Settings - System - Power - Advanced and unchecked the box "turn off device if not used for 5 minutes"
The daft thing is this was enabled on my old phone and would always wake up with a text/call or power button push !
What has changed ?

Update - Found the problem
Whilst the above fixed my freeze problem it has been bugging me why - as the advanced power features are useful and I don't always remember to hit the power button to sleep the device.
I have now realized what was not set up the same as my old phone.
No start up password !
To enable this I found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5004821 and changed my registry setting to 0.
This immediately takes you to the lock screen where you can now enter your password details and make them stick.
I now have a start up password and can set the timeout to 24hrs.
All the power settings now work correctly - and no screen freeze

Spoke too soon
3 hours ago went to use my phone - black screen
Connected via activesync and MyMobileR.
Rebooted and got the "Microp Version Mismatch 0" message.
Checked out threads about this error on the mainly Diamond forum and can confirm my screen is well and truly dead.
Contacted Orange and they are sending another replacement tomorrow.
What p*sses me off is the number of hours I have spent to get one normal days use.

Sorry to keep posting to this thread - but I am hoping that my experiences may help somebody
As said I am getting a replacement tomorrow and in one of the threads a guy said put it in the fridge for 20 minutes !
Well I thought what the h*ll and did.
Wrapped it in some tissues to absorb the condensation when I took it out - replaced the battery and it works - no Microp message and has behaved ok for 6 hours.
Got to be a hardware issue ?
Your thoughts.............

Hi Andrew,
the fridge trick did not work for me. i kept searching for solutions and i found out that the problem is the digitizer (the touch screen). it might have received a shock (dropped on the ground) or other unusual pressure (in the pocket), and the digitizer gets out of initial position. the digitizer takes that contact as a tap -a continious tap- and does not respond to other taps. you might have to open the device and reposition the digitizer or replace it is there is some damage.
cheers
mumur
Sorry to hear that.
My replacement phone - so far has behaved perfectly.

it strikes me that if I shake the phone that the phone jamming. I get no response. Even when I tap my finger hard against the rear top I get a crash. The only solution is to take out the battery and reboot. I think it has to do with a hardware problem.
there are others who also suffer from it?
