Replacing HTC Magic front cover

Hello,
I currently have a HTC Magic with a Vodafone cover, and I recently bought a new cover without the Vodafone logo.
Yesterday I disassembled my Magic to put on the new cover, but after a while I found out that the new cover (that I bought on eBay) doesn't have any metal screw holes that fit the screws. There are only plastic holes where the metal screw holes are usually in.
Is there some way to get new screw holes? I have already tried to transfer the screw holes from my old Vodafone cover, but they seem to be glued in to the housing.
I hope someone can help me out!
Thanks in advance!
I recently replaced the front cover on mine, if yours does not have the metal screw housings, you're either going to have to find a way to get them out of the old cover, or you are just going to have to return it.
Lol, I did this on my G1, but same problem for the magic.
What I did was take a small metal punch and heat it up. I then punched out the old brass screw fitting from the old phone housing. It took a couple tries, but I got the right temp so I didn't set the thing on fire. Once I had them out, I cleaned off a bit of the melted plastic that was on them. That was easy enough.
Then, I gently set the brass fittings into the holes in the new housing. They will rest level in holes. Then I heated up a steak knife until it was rather hot. I then GENTLY held the knife level against the brass without touching the plastic and in about 5 seconds the brass fitting was hot enough to start melting the plastic and it started sliding into the hole. I sunk the fitting in until it was level with the plastic rim. On one I went to far and melted the plastic a bit, but when I put it back together, it worked well enough.

Moving topaz to a new housing (I dropped the old one)

I dropped my phone about a week after I got it and chipped the edges pretty bad. I purchased a new housing on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270480549174&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT) and figured out how to move to phone into it. The only thing I couldn't figure out is how to move the digitiser. Does anyone know?
Also the housing I bought didn't have the seal that the LCD sits on. Is in ok for the LCD to sit on the bare metal of the housing ?

Umm I have no idea. I'm gonna attempt this for myself in a couple of weeks. I'm gonna do a practice teardown now just to have the know how to do it quick. I'm gonna buy the Housing off ebay with the digitizer. It's like $34-$43. Someone had mentioned that you have to get a new digitezer. But they did move the guts out of a Pure into the Topaz housing.
As far as the digitizer sitting on metal I'm not sure but doesnt sound right.
Yes, I suspect I have to buy a new digitiser or a housing with a digitiser. Please send me the link and let me know how it is.
As for the lack of a seal, it isn't the digitiser sitting on bare metal, it is the LCD. Functionally I think it will be ok, but I have heard of dust getting into the unit between the digitiser and the LCD. Surely if there is no seal, then this would be more likely.

my N4 weent face first on an automotive shop floor

It didnt shatter oddly enough, but scratches on the side, do they have replacement glass yet for it ready?
I was under the impression that the screen is glued to the glass now so you can't just simply take the glass off and replace it - you have to send it in and pay a fair bit for repair since the whole display has to be replaced..
That sucks im pissed they dont have a hard otter box type case yet,

Replacement adhesive for back cover

I have a Moto X Pure with a broken screen. I replaced it with a new screen and frame from iFixit, but the replacement screen had a few bad spots and I had to RMA that. So I disassembled the phone again for the RMA. After being taken apart twice, the original adhesive on the back panel is starting to ball up and wear out a bit.
What's the best replacement? I was only able to find one company selling a pre-cut double-sided foam part anywhere, and they're quoting 21 days for shipment.
I'm sure I can do a decent job by removing all the old adhesive and using some 3M double-sided VHB tape, but I'm not sure which tape to get or how thick it needs to be.
Has anyone done this before? Any suggestions?

Anyone have done a S7 Edge back glass replacement?

Well... Today, my S7 Edge fell out of my pocket, onto concrete. No damage to front screen, but the back glass cover now is cracked. I have done a repair with a S7, but that costed me $70. I looked up some tutorials on how to replace the glass myself, and I am wondering whether I need to purchase a heat gun or would a hair dryer be fine as well for prying open the back cover. I am not too concerned about losing water resistance as I won't purposely dunk it into water anyway. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Or should I just send it to Samsung for repair and call it a day.
It's easy to replace. The back cover is just stuck on. A hairdrier should be enough.
I've done it to one and it was an easy job. There are plenty repalcement back covers on eBay. SOme are genuine, but most are not genuine, but still looks very similar.
Great. Thanks! I was planning to go to home depot and buy a heat gun. Looks like that is no longer necessary...
