Games for Xperia

Hi,
Xperia will be my first Windows Mobile device ever, and i had no idea in regards to gaming on WinMo. Though there are a couple of games available at Microsoft Total Access and a few other sites, most of them failed to impress. Then i found this site that had tons of games including a couple of really great looking 3D games for windows mobile devices.
Any how, i found couple of old PC game ported for Windows Mobile devices as well including sybaria 2, Myst and Myst 2, Atlantis Redux, Age of Empires, Sims 2, and many more. I downloaded these as i'll definitely want to try 'em out.
I then also downloaded ScummVM for Windows Mobile and am now in the process of downloading games for it including The Curse of Monkey Island, Broken Sword 1 & 2, and more. (notice i don't even have the mobile in my hands yet, and i'm already stacking up software and games for it )
Anyways... now i found a pack that has tons of games that are listed to have been ported for PPC (Pocket PC). The creator says: "All games run on my QVGA Windows Mobile 2003se PPC". So i'm guessing they'll probably run on Xperia too?
There are a couple of really cool games in there: Duke Nukem 3D, Need For Speed, tomb Raider, Call of Duty 2, bobble bubble, and many more.
Anyone who has a Windows Mobile and has loaded such games before or tried, can you confirm if these actually work? and if not then is it wise to give it a shot on the Xperia?

In youtube there are vids where they running Duke Nukem 3D and COD2.
I just tried TombRaider but it is unplayable. The touchscreen does not work like it should...Unofrtunately.
I heared that AGE 1 is working. Have fun!

All of the ones you mentioned are working perfectly on my x1.

I've tried some of them, and they work fine. Limited fun factor though.
Try MorphGear and some old Nintendo and Sega games.

I'll be posting some I've tried and enlist 'em here. Take note though that I use it on an unlocked official X1 rom. Phones in my location came unrestricted. And yes, it differes from a cooked rom since I can't run TF3D on my device.

Hi, Folks.
Has anyone around here found a version of AstroPop that will run OK on Xperia?
Missing that game from my old Java phones.

hi i'm wondering if it is possible to play traffic mania on x1. thx..

warcraft2 plays fine on the xperia but it's a little slow. that's understandable. although it would be nice to incorporate the optical joystick to scroll the map instead of using the directional buttons because let's face it, the directional buttons are crap on the xperia.
anyway, props to you for porting one of my favorite games! this game brings back old memories!

People with Touch HD say that Warcraft II is moving fast, so maybe we have to tweak something. It's so slow it's unplayable on X1.

Big bump, but has anybody found Lux World Domination for the Xperia? Recently played it on the iPhone and really want it available on my xperia.

I must be very baad., but it's true what i'm goin to say now. There are much more 3D and good working games on W580i than on my new XperiaX1. I'm very disappointed... Expected WINDOWS MOBILE - a lot of applications, games... there is nothing, everywhere the same, bull**** games like prince of persia or assasin. What is this? I'm goin to bring back my W580i :///

Well, X1 ain't exactly positioned as a gaming phone. More like a business phone.

Need For Speed Undercover is one of the best I've ever played on my Diamond, runs hardware accelerated and looks great

PocketUno is pretty fun too. It's just one of those quick pick-up-and-play games. Very finger friendly too. Loads and exits fast for quick games when standing in line, using bathroom, listening to your gf, etc.

how do you guys play these games? especially need for speed underground, i'm constantly pressing the home/call/end/back keys while i'm trying to press left and right...

I like the Oldies and classics.
Age of Empires gold edition (1.25) - Nice strategy game...almost like on the PC.
Syberia 2 - no comments, great game.
Myotopia Poker - to play on online rooms is great!
SCUMMVM - monkey island series and others like "The Dig"
Morphgear with SNES, Genesis and GBA module - with user defined touchscreen/hard keys controller. This ROCKS!

how come the leo, with kingsize screen and awesome specs has only a few WORKING games with nonimpressive graphics mostly when the iphone has billions and billions!?!?!? the entertainment factor is completely missing i think, and marketplace; it's a joke, an expensive joke...... Anyone know something i don't?

There are some 3D games in The Awesome OpenGL Games thread. Those are free. You cna find other on the internet but most are payed.
FF games are played on FPSEce. Its Playstation emulator. There is a video of FF9 running on Omnia. HD2 runs it better.

as you don't like the marketplace, you may want to check out the omarket
i am using fpsece together with a msi bgp100, works awesome! all the games i could get my hands on, work and run with high performance.

NOW we're talking! I have already used omarket for some time, a bunch of useful stuff but to be honest I didn't buy the by far top of the line device to run crappy java-like games.. thanks everyone, my leo is now officially super-mega-awsome!!!

Did the sims 3 played alright on the galaxy 3?
Cause didn´t work on mine (g3 i5801), There was some problems with the textures (no hairs and some other stuff were invisible).
Is there a way to fix that?

About the games, those are the ones I have installed and play well:
Snesoid (snes emulator)
Tiger GBA (gba emulator)
ScummVM (to play some old school adventure point´n click games, I love this kind of games)
Worms (a bit slow, but playable)
Island Settlers

Sims 3 seems to work OK for me, I haven't played it for over 5 mins but I don't see any graphical errors, except the resolution is a bit wrong and texts aren't exactly the best to read (still readable, though)
As for the link.. It was part of the mega pack, which has a lot of quality apps too, so I don't want to encourage you to not support the makers (though EA deserves to be pirated ), so you'll have to search it yourself.

I want everyone to check quake3droid out. The game almost smoothly works on the phone. The FPS is between 20-30 but still it is very cool to play.
Note - If you download quake3droid for free you wont get links for v2.6 and in the previous versions the on-screen virtual gamepad didnt fit to the screen so it would be better if you buy it.

Just delete please the last sentence.. It's up to you.. Or if you will grow up - will you work for free ? Of course you will I hope, because of course you didn't buy it. You have many of them trial or free. But shame on google that you can not purchase the apps from anyway.

Nah, I try to support developers of quality apps as much as I can, but seeing as I don't have a card to shop them online It's just easier to get it the easy way, obiviously.
For the record, most of the apps were 'paid' versions and not trial ones.
But well EA and other classic PC game-raping companies deserve to be pirated, they have ruined so many game series in the past 10 years that they deserve it..
