My personal battery killer is.. - HD2 General

the micro SD card!
i checked it twice overnight and during the day.. so i can say that for sure!
I own a Samsung micro SD 8gb class 6..
Night 1: lost 35 % in 7 hours with SD in it, constant data connection with hourly updates
Day 1: lost about 54 % in 8 with SD in it, constant data con. , hourly updates, some calls, texts & browsing in Opera
Night 2: same conditions as night 1 but without SD card.. lost 7 %
Day 2: nearly same conditions as day 1 but without SD card.. lost 27 %
Now a question: are sandisk cards better? i really need a new 1 cause my samsung's ****ed up!
Hope i could help someone with this..

Use BsB Tweaker which can enable power saver for SD Card.
And keep in mind that Battery lose first half capacity very fast and then stay on long time on the level 30-40-50.

In my case it's the exact opposite, power loss from 100%-50% is slow, below 50% it can go empty within 7 hours in STANDBY (reproducible). Thanks for the advice with BsB Tweaker.
PS: I have a sandisk 16gb class 2.

you mean the power saving option? it's enanled since the first day..
i know that with the first half but the sd card is really killing me! currently working outside so im in need of the radio.. with sd card in it and running fm radio, battery drainage is about 19 % per hour.. thats not even a bad joke anymore, its realy frustrating!
thank god that i have electricity here

That can't be right. Must be a rogue application. I have a 16 GB card and the phone never loses more than 1-2% (radio off) during the night.

must be my samsung card.. apps are all closed over night!
i got tomtom, navigon, some music & games on my card.. no idea

Formaty sd card and try again.
Must be some application installed on sd or some problem with the sd card itself

Ill try it when im at home!
is there an alternative for the built in fm radio? tried listening without sd.. same result 3 % loss in 10 mins! how can a dumb radio use so much battery?
i remember listening radio with my nokia e90.. listend for hours with minimal battery loss

It makes sense to me, thats why I was saying this here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5230146&postcount=10
Any fellows here are using the A-data class 6 16gb and dose not affect the battery life? I'd like to ask this again.
Thanks in advance.

I tried mine too, and I lost 4% in 10 minutes, but that was with the screen on. I then turned off the radio and lost 3% in 10 minutes with the screen on, but not doing anything (other than usual-for-my-phone background tasks). I then turned the radio back on and turned the screen off, and it used less than 1% in 10 minutes (I say less than 1% because the indicator had not changed.)
To me, that says that (in my case) the battery killer is the screen, which I can accept because I have it lit very high (I just don't like it dim.)

The only major thing I'm considering changing, to see if it has any effect, is my windows live config. I currently have my sync frequency set to "as soon as it arrives", which requires a constant data connection (before that starts a flame war, please read this.) I'm gonna turn that off and see if it improves, but I still think the screen is my big problem.

Sounds like you need to recalibrate the "remaining-charge-estimate-circuit-thingy" in your HD2's battery. Drain battery to as near as nothing as possible and fully charge it without unplugging it (I have heard its suggested to do this with the device off). Might work straight off the first time, might take a couple goes.
Do not leave the device below 20% charge for any long period of time as it can cause problems with the Li-Ion battery.

I'm gonna try it on mine and see if I have any improvement anyway. I'm sure we have different things running on our devices. I'm just trying to narrow things down before removing the SD card to see if that does anything.

SD Card is one of the factor
To my sense, if a lot of softwares in installed in your SD Card, then definitely the battery will deplete rapidly.
I install all 3G-constant-data-softwares in the system memory, not card. Those not required CONSTANT 3G data connection and not to be running 24/7 will be installed in SD card (eg. 1-Calc, TCPMP, Lexisgoo, Resco Explorer).
So far, with the stock ROM and related softwares (installed at "right" locations) gives me average 1 full day battery juice having 25% balance. And again, battery consumption is a very very subjective topic. SD card IS definitely one of the battery earter.

I have not tested the following in a very detailed way but I think it worth while trying it:
Even so I have used the power saving tweak from BsB Tweak I found in sk Tools in tuneup that all Power Saving features are switched off.
So I switched On all Power saving features in sk Tools and I have the feeling that the battery usage is less now.
For example:
From midnight full 100% charge till 8am in the morning I had 89% left which is a little bit more than 1% loss per hour and this is not bad.
But with the new Radio 2.06 I have the feeling that battery power is getting more drained during a talk or during interent connection.
On the other side the reception is quite good and I have also the feeling that data connection is better - receiving data faster after a connection is established.
Again: This are all "soft" fatcs I have not done a sientific evaluation
I have a San Disk 16GByte Class 6 storage card.
Best regards,
dingolino

Hi, are you sure that your micro sd is a sandisk class 6? cuz I've never found Sandisk has released a class 6 16GB microcard..thats why I had to buy the A-data one.
The only software I have installed in the storge card is a GPS software IGO8.
This battery issue is driving me crazy, I begin to miss my HTC HD(original 1.43 ROM) which drops only 2%(My hd2 loses about 40% power) every night, even I always have kept my data connection on.

CONFIRMED: T-Mobile USA HD2 MicroSD is Faulty!

We've uncovered that the 16gb microsdhc card that comes with the T-Mobile USA HD2 is faulty in 2 ways.
1. When the card is used battery life is AWFUL
2. Files are "deleted" but space is not freed.
For example: I have 10.5gb free on the card now. I delete a 2gb file from the card. After deleting I still have 10.5gb free.
Can someone test this a little more for us? Do other cards have the same effects?
Thread this was discovered in: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653229
My SD from T-Mobile completely died after 5 days, they're sending me a new one in the mail...it won't recognize on a PC or in a phone at all, lost all of my docs/pics/music/etc...
Remember boys and girls, back up your data!
Oddly enough.. I don't have these issues. My battery drains roughly 1% per hour on standby (a little less actually). I unplugged mine this morning at 8am, and had a day of heavy usage (15 mins talk time, 3 hours browsing, 20 mind of fpsece, 1 hour of music, and 30 mins of video), and I am at 34% as of writing (8:35PM). That's not bad for 12 and a half hours.
Also, when I delete items from my SD card, my remaining space reflects the changes I've made. I have had 0 issues with the card.

I have a feeling that there was a faulty batch.
I had bad battery life with another 16gb sd card that was mine. It's not the sd card that's faulty but the sd socket itself or the drivers. Hopefully it's the drivers. Or something about Sense polling the sd card.
I have bad battery life with an italian hd2 and 16gb SD. I don't think it is something from t-mobile.
I put the 16gb card I was using with my Touch Pro2 in the Tmobile HD2 and it wouldn't even recognize it. I think it even corrupted it because my laptop takes forever to access it.... I will try the 4 gig I have and post if anything changes.
I purchased my HD2 on launch day and so far haven't had an issue with it. I have had issues trying to sync my Win7 64-bit PC and the phone with Active Sync but so far no issues with the card itself. It's like a portable Harddrive to me. I have VLC player installed on my work computers and put XVid's onto the phone and run them off the phone at work without issue.
I'll look further into the space issues with the deleting large files, but I've moved lots of vids on and off and never noticed anything.

Is this for the Tmobile USA HD2? I have terrible battery life on mine and honestly its annoying and frustrating knowing I cant even browse the Web for 15min knowing my battery will drop 10-15%. I have blu-tooth off, and screen brightness at 30% and battery life is still horrible. This has worse battery life than my Sprint Touch Pro 2. This phone reminds me of the horrible battery life of the Sprint Touch. I dont know how you get those amazing numbers.
By the way, I dont have the weather or email autochecking. Everything is set to manual. I send about 30-50 quick texts a day.
really? i can use my phone on the internet for half an hour with the battery dropping oonly ~5%.
this is on wifi.
have you tried a couple discharge/ charge cycles?

I think this is a batch specific problem. I've done discharge and charge cycles and my battery goes down about 8% an hour on standby.
Also, the sd card will not get rid of things deleted off of it. they are gone, but no space is freed.
I'm going to go in to my t-mobile store and try to get a replacement.
Sandisk 16GB cards have problems!
I think Sandisk has been having MAJOR problems with their 16GB MicroSD cards for a while. I had one in my Touch HD and I needed to reformat it about every 6-8 weeks. Major pain. The last time it would not reformat again and after a major effort, Sandisk agreed to replace it (had to send in old one at my cost).
I am convinced they sent me the old one back because it is pretty much DOA!!! If it is not the old one then this one is buggered up too. It worked for a couple of weeks then stopped being seen by my HD. I tried to format it from 3 different PC's and two different (compatible) readers with no luck. I gave up and bought an A-Data 16GB card with no trouble at all!! Over 6 months later and not a single hiccup with that card. Keep in mind that I pretty much just leave the card in so "wear and tear" is non-existent.
My suggestion? Dump it and get a different brand (card that is).
Gordo
PS. Just do a Google search and you will find MANY people having issues with it.
mine works fine so far keep us posted....i deleted alot and i got my mem back

Yes, this is for the TMOUS HD2. What I did:
1. Bought the phone
2. Let the battery die once
3. Full charge, and let the battery die again
4. One more full charge, and then normal usage..
I know battery conditioning isn't exactly needed at this point, but i did it anyway. My email is pushed every 15 minutes, and WIFI is on about 60% of the time. No blutooth, and my weather and facebook are set to manual updates. Stocks are diabled as well.
Obviously BSB tweaks is installed with power management, and automatic screen dimming is on as well. I really didn't do anything out of the ordinary.
My SD card also works outside of the phone, and in my G1 as well..
I have the HD 2-NOT from tmo-and haven't had any issues with my 16 gig sandisk card-ever. And my battery life is really good. Best of about any PDA I've ever had.

Thanks bro. I will do what you did on letting the battery die and charging it full again. Now, isnt it bad to let the battery die fully on li-ion batteries? Im a little worried on this but will still do it. Thanks again.
You can buy another 16GB microSD and copy all data, and leave the original card secured.
Dane-Elec (class 2) is relatively cheap, and it's made by Toshiba (same as Kingston class 2 16GB).
Though it's a bit slow, it appears to be reliable.

sandisk is super slow... :/ I'm formatting mine. it gives me my space back now, but the damage has been done. only 5gb free with like nothing on it.
I just formatted the card and didn't put my backup back on. I'll report on battery life compared to what I had today.
Should the two posts be merged (or one close) to keep the issue on the same thread?
Couple of points to consider:
1) Having a memory card in a device will always drain it faster. In my netbook, if i leave an SD card in, I drain the battery faster than with out it. And I'm not even accessing the card, its just in.
2) There's a "FilesToBeDeleted" folder on the SD card. I don't know much about the file structure but is that like a virtual recycle bin?
Besides the first day of getting my phone and charging it that day, I've only done two full charge cycles (besides plugging it in to flash a new rom). I've had it off the charger for 9 hours and I lost 66% so far. My battery drain has lessen quite dramatically after I did some tweaks. I plan to reformat my memory card to night to clean it up and move some apps from my memory card to the phone so that its not perpetually hitting the card.

HTC HD2 Battery drainage?

Hi
Battery problem, keeps draining quickly, just by leaving it anywhere. I charge the htc hd2, after not much use... the battery looses charge? I have s2u2 installed any ideas why this would be?
In other words, battery is on 100%. I open it using s2u2 and close it, just random play aroung with the phone. Next minute you know the battery is going lower and lower in matter of minutes. Thats with no phone calls, few text, no music, no games played i think your getting the gist?
This is wierd? anyone else experience this?
Please can some help and advice in the right direction.
thanks.

hi pa49
I have looked at soo many post on xda, but i cannot get to to the bottom of it?
1. Is there any post you might note of, that could possibly put me in to the right direction?
2. also any place you can get extended battery (not the big fat one lol)

you may want to install battclock and check what0s your cpu usage, also disable s2u2, check differences, and whatnot... the only way you can find if it's a software problem or not is by checking with a clean rom.
Usual old boring advice, backup and hard reset, test with nothing installed, if there is the same problem of very high drainage, it's basically a good chance you need to send it back for warranty
I have exactly the same problem. Suddenly yesterday my phone's battery drained and I found my phone switched off, out of nowhere. I charged it for 3-4 hours, and then played some games, the battery was left at 85% and when I woke up today, after 6 hours, it was off again.
So you are suggesting to perform a hard reset and observe the way the battery drains?
Ok, First get the battery working at max capacity by charging it non stop for at least 2 weeks. Whenever you can and wherever you can for as long as you can.
Once you have done that there is a battery monitoring capability built into the charging circuits. You could then allow your battery to drain to cuttoff and then recharge to full again which will accurise the power remaing readout. I never bother with this step as I just use the phone and then recharge as soon as I can again, but, if it's important to you then go ahead, but, don't continually allow the cutoff point to be reached as this will damage the battery.
Now you have maximised the capacity of the battery see how it performs and assess whether you need to take further action.
Installing apps to mem card will eat battery.
Some say leaving apps open will drain the battery. I'm not too sure, but, it's good practice to close them any way.
Finding a clean and pared down cooked ROM will save a lot of power, but, you will have to do your own experimenting there.
After that you could invest in a spare/extended battery, however, I would suggest an external rechargable power pack (Have a look at the juice bar solar pack as it will recharge itself without needing a power socket or USB port (although you can use them!), purely by sunlight. Another advantage is that if you change your phone you still can use the pack with your next device and they will also charge many other devices!
Good luck!
I have my new hd2 leo, and battery seemed to be the main issue for me cause it couldn hold 1working day... but as everybody told its nessesery to charge 1 week to exercise battery for its full potential.. but i did some improvements, did the registry thing with dissablepowersavings dont remmember where found that, and instaled wmpowersaving, for control of 3g 2g data, using 2.12 radio rom, witch is more stable than 2.08 cause i use hd2 for a lot of browsing, and 2.08 was freezing my device.. 2.12 is stable and seems using much less power, i can feel less heat in the back of the case.. tried android... but that was not intterested me... i dont need those 1000ds of apps i need to browse the internet using iris browser.. and now battery easily can hold 2 days with some wifi 3g browsing.. and few phone calls some usage of camera.. witch is poor in dark conditions... so i think battery life is 2days ... and control the 2g 3g networks, turn off location service, turn off data connection.. and the battery for today evening is still 72% after 10 hrs of few phonecalls and a bit browsing with wifi.. some gps navigation i dont even think to buy expanded batery cause i dont like the BACK BIG CASE ... Also i wonder how much power is nessesary to run Micro SD built in card reader... because its a pitty to have 180mb internal memory for progams... if it had 2gb then u install everything in the memory and dont use the sd card reader witch i suppose will save couple of hours of battery.
this issue has been well documented..imo the stock rom battery life is awful lasts up to 24hour on casual use for me..there are cooked roms with better battery life or you could invest in a bigger capacity battery from htc or third party ones on ebay
There is a known issue with the HD2 and microsd cards, when the microsd's filesystem becomes corrupted, causing battery drain.

Ok, so I did a quick test, I turned off the radio just to take that out of the equation.
I ran for two hours, first hour with SD card out and then an hour with it in.
From the log, you see that I am about 6 to 7 mA up until 0945 and then it started to cycle, I dont know why, the phone was in standby the whole time.
I put the SD card back in at 1016 and opened explorer just to access it once.
the cycling continued for like 30 min then settled back down to 6 to 9mA.
So, it looks like the currnt is a few mA higher with the SD card in, but I have no idea why the phone was sucking over 150mA in those four to five reading bursts when I was not using the phone.
What do you think?
Jeff

Battery life is extremely short

Hey guys, I've had the phone since Saturday and even though I've been through a few charge cycles my battery only lasts about 6-8 hours. Today I took the phone off the charger at 10:00 AM and it died on me at 5:45 PM. I only texted a few times and only did an hour or so of Slacker Radio. Seems a little low for what I'm doing with the phone.
I am on Kumar's classic 2.2 ROM with 2.11 radio.

A lot of things can drain the battery, 3g on in a no 3g area, weather updates, twitter , email updates ...
But If I was you I would try a diff radio ... I get a full day out of mine at this point a little more ...
I've tried 2.12 as well and the battery didn't improve.
Is your activesync checking as items come in? That's what drained mine terribly. Basically, it can be a ton of things that make your battery drain such as:
1. backlight
2. agps
3. certain programs
4. etc
You'd have to list a bunch of stuff on what you're doing to your phone
Can you turn activesync off? If so, how?
Also, any other tips to save battery life?

Definitely lower down the screen brightness to 20%, turn off Bluetooth and WiFi, don't let things like Twitter and your e-mail update so often.
Also using the internet/music/videos will drain quite a bit of power, especially if you use the internet while listening to music.
Yeah I mainly use internet radio while at work. Would using WiFi be easier on the battery than using 3G/H?

Yes, I've done it both ways and wifi most definitely draws less juice when streaming data than 3g (and when idle too, for that matter)
do you think it matters whether you install programs on your SD card or on the device?
i have CHT installed on the SD card and i can't make it 8 hrs on light usage.
I only have 3 apps installed so far, but it's on the device.
Also, is there a way to have the default wallpapers without animation? I'm sure that doesn't help the battery every time I unlock the phone either.

Honestly, there's really not much of any reason to install apps on the SD card with this phone...there's more storage available than even most power users would ever come close to filling.
im in teh same boat. had it since march. on elegancia rom which people say is great for battery. on 2.12
now im in a bad service area in my basement often so i know sometimes thats the cause. but even at the gym 40 mins of internet radio dropped my battery almost 20 percent.
if i do nothing with the phone it usually drops 5 pct an hour 10 pct with moderate use but 20 easily if i do anything on the web over 3g or wifi. its awful
oh and i have lumos configured, i only have email connect every 2 hours and weather every 6. nothing else connects

Wow! your phone's battery usage sounds a little over the top. Might want to try using a different radio. 2.08 has given me the best signal/battery efficiency, but of course that varies from phone to phone.
Also, I bought a 2600 mAh battery so now I'm not afraid to use my phone. As long as you don't mind the extra bulk it adds to the back of the phone , I would suggest getting an extended battery to everyone complaining about how their battery dies too fast.
I will back up the statement that putting apps in main memory will save you battery ...
The less your phone has to access the SDcard the less power it uses.
A big thing is if you have any apps that run all the time that are on the SDcard , not only does it drain battery but will degrade the performance of the SDcard .
Anyone else have any ideas?
talked to tmo on webchat last night got em to send me a new battery
so if nothin helps at least il have two
I'm trying that method right now, we'll see what happens.

hd2 battery help ([email protected]!)

FIXED! USE RADIO 2.14
link1
My wifes hd2 is having horrible battery issues on WP7.
Normal use is 5 hours.
zero usage is just about 12 hours.
I have tried 4 different verified working sdcards:
scandisk 2gb class 2
patriot 4gb class 10
Adata 8gb class 6
Kingston 16gb class 2
I have tired 4 different roms:
xboxmod's XBmod (normal and modded), Moon light (none have working gps)
Football's HD2 project (no gps)
DFT's original release (gps actually works)
In all of the roms, location, wifi, bluetooth, find my phone - were all turned off.
email sync was set to 1 hour
I searched the following threads and did their battery tricks:
1
2
3
4
No luck.
Running a tmobile hd2
radio: 2.15.50.14
I also tried:
-without an sdcard (150mb)
- not running htc connection wizard (no mobile data)
- using MY HD2.
as a last resort i swapped batteries and then flashed TyphooN CyanogenMod 2.0 (my main rom). both phones get 40+ hours of normal usage. Today with 8 hours since the last charge and 4 hours of screen time i still have 87% battery left. So its not the phones. My wifes had 95% batter with 6 hours since charge, and 1 hour of screen time.
I would appreciate any help.
thank you.
That's what I can say:
1. Flash Radio 2.12.50.2 - It improves battery life. If you have 3G probs with 2.12.50 (I don't have any but some users reported weaker 3G signal) then try 2.14.50. 2.15 is the worst radio for WP7.
2. Don't panic and recharge as needed for a few days. Apply the battery indicator registry tweak. Somehow WP7 settles with the battery and bat life gets better ovet time. I now get over a full day of usage including 3G on, 2 mail acc syncing every 30 min, about 40-50 min IE browsing, 20-30 min gaming and 20-30 min. calls. That's about the same I got with WM 6.5.
I had terrible battery life also until I applied the registry tweak.

Number4 in my post above was the registry tweak. I tried it. No difference. Time to flash a radio
raidio 2.12.50.2 has shown no improvements. its been 4 hours after a full charge (no sdcard), everything in settings turned off, and my battery is half full.
the battery tweaks dpnt seem to address the actual charging issues.
Personally i find that after i get a reading of 100% full on the HTC battery tool i can usually see that the amout of charge in teh battery may only be 70%.
Restart the phone and recharge, repeat as nessary. there is something very wrong with the battery driver on this thing
raidio 2.12.50.2 had no improvements. 7 hours and 15 minutes after full charge the phone is dead. Flashing 2.14 after it charges.
Radio 2.12 did not work for me either. I've read 2.14 is the best for battery life. Flashed my HD2 last night with it but haven't tested it yet, I'm on my iPhone now.
Did the registry battery tweak twice but no change at all.
IMO the radio overall is the major reason for battery drain. Turning off 3G will help for sure.
I have location, mail, push notifications, etc. on my iPhone and battery holds 2 days with no problem, regular usage - texts, internet, talk. These services (except 3G) don't have big impact on excessive battery drain.
as i can try to help you, i'm using this tool
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11242320&postcount=20
don't know hoe but before i installed it battery goes at about 20% in a normal day use.. When i turn on phone, in about 5 mins, battery goes down.. i saw in registry that the number changes from 11 to 10, in about 5 mins, and the other 5 mins, it changes to 9, so.. it's a big bug
when i install this tool (yesterday ) all works, full battery IS full battery
try.. may can help you as help me

The number is supposed to change, 11 being full, 1 being 10%. The trick with the registery tweak is doing it when the battery is completely full, the ROMs with this built in wont make the blindest bit of difference unless the battery is full
The author himself states that it will change by its self.
Ok, let me put this another way.
If you charge your battery to 50% and apply the tweak windows will assume the batter is full, which it isnt, that is why you end up with massive battery drainage because it will still try to appear empty when the battery is empty.
So, your battery will be about 1250mAh, do whatever you have to do to get it full, restart and charge as much as needed, unplug and charge, whatever it takes to get it to 1250 or there abouts, THEN apply the reg tweak, that will set windows to use the correct scale for the battery icon.
What this doesnt unfortunatly fix is that windows will refuse to charge the battery to 100% sometimes for reasons unknown, its more than likely that its a driver issue and since this was never ment for our hardware that makes sence. usually restarting or unpluging and charging can correct this however.
flashed 2.14 no change. trying the battery tool. thank you.
Just one more thing,
SD cards appear to be a massive part of all the dramas people are having with HD2 WP7 including battery usage, I searched all over HTC sites and found that they will only recommend SanDisk SD cards. European HD7 ship with 8GB and US/Asian HD7 ship with 16GB cards.
Maybe you should change?? I switched from Class 2 SanDisk 2GB to Class 4SanDIsk 8GB and have had no problems so far. Had my music player on for the last 12 hours straight.
SD cards from within the same Brands and Models may be different, you cant assume because one person got XYZ to work you will be able to do the same. ive got several Sandisks and a kingston and most of them do not work or work but with serious issues, oddly it was my main card that i was using for WM6.5 and android that worked in the end.
Its worth remembering that we are not supposed to have removable media and im guessing that what ever the cards are in teh HD7 have been made for the jopb and are not just off the shelf. (or at the very least all from the same production line.
HTC Recommended
SD Cards in the HD7 are listed in their tech spec, as "non-removable storage", however, if you search the forums and youtube, you will find the only reason they are "non-removable" is because they've been covered up.
I'm guessing this is because of all the trouble that most HD7 consumers (non XDA members and followers) would have in fixing the issues caused by swapping cards.
Looking back over the SD card threads you will see that yes a lot of cards do work, but the majority are SanDisk 8-16GB Class 4 cards, as recommended (I spoke to them on the phone), and shipped by HTC for the HD7.
I think its important to note, that i am having these issues without an sdcard AND with any sdcard.
The htc battery tool allowed me to see when my battery was fully charged. after everyflash before anything else i do the regedtry edit, and so far nothing has helped.
xda2_haseeb released his Twilight rom where he gets killer battery life. I however do not have the same fortune.

Radio 2.12 and 2.15 have the same battery drain.
2.14 worked best for me. Give it a few days.
2.14 is it! after 24 hours of regular usage i am still at 43% battery.
Wifi off, data on, bluetooth off, 3g on, location on, find my phone on, feed back off. email sync across 3 email accounts 30 minutes.
General usage of sms, email, and phone calls.

I'm running Radio 2.15. Not bad but not 24 hours either, so flashing to 2.14 (which I haven't tried yet) is worth a shot!
If I flash to 2.14 (without using task29), will it erase everything?

[Q] Battery Status / Lifetime at Pdaimatejam ROM

Hi Guys!
I have flashed my HD with Pdaimatejam ROM, this rom is awesome! But I have one question:
Every time I made a hard reset, my battery status show about 1 day and 10 hours of lifetyme in 100% of charge.
After 5 or 6 days, HD2 shows about 20hours in 100%. and so on...
This happened also in ROM HD2O I had installed few months ago!
This is normal? Or a radio problem?
Radio Version: 5.51.09.29_22.32.50.10u
Thanks!

The estimation is based on your current consume ....
I think is more relevant to monitor your real battery drainage using a dedicated application like "Battery Status" or "BatteryTool".

How i can control with Battery status or Battery tool?
Hi!
WP has to "learn" how you use it so the first week or two you'll notice the battery status changing a lot It is practically unusable so I would recommend (like mentioned above) that you install battery status or the htc battery tool. You can find the xap-files on the forum if you do a little searching ;-) As an alternative you could look on marketplace - there are a few apps out there for the purpose!
If you need help to figure out how they work - just ask! :-D
/Anders
Hi Anders!
Thank you for your kindness in quote! I downloaded the battery tool, and from what I understand it only shows the percentage of the battery, right?
Also downloaded the HTC battery tool, it shows me some more accurate data, but do not know how to use them, you could help me to improve?
I noticed that my HD2 spends too much power in standby (like 4 or 5 percent at hour without use, with 3g, wifi, localize and more off), is there any way to minimize this?
Thanks so much!
hug
Sergio
ps: sorry my bad english, im Brazilian!
Hi again!
No worries about your english - understand perfectly ;-)
You are right about the battery app from the marketplace only shows the voltage and percentage remaining. Its nice for your startpage but other than that not that usable.
The HTC battery app on the other hand gives you a great deal of info! What you have to look for is battery current. It should be between 5 and 10 when you have had the phone on standby for some minutes with the settings you describe...
Anything else you would like to know?
/Anders
Sorry to be asking me all the time, but you are helping me right! Thank you!
I installed the tool for HTC battery, the tests and did as you instructed me! it shows the values of -80 to -100: |, is this normal?
can somebody pls tell me why I get only 7-8 hrs of battery life and also why my hd2 always heats up..

drainage and heating is not connected only to those settings, i got on mine all that turned on, + mail sync ewery 30 minutes, and battery lasts ower 24 hours with normal day usage (surfing on 3G is most intense on battery for me)
Its hard to say what is causing high battery drainage, because for me first it was SD card, so after I changed it ewerything was good for day or two, than my screen broke (tough luck) and while i was fixing it, i used an old iPhone which broke my sim card (more tough luck) in way that celular data didnt work, and that caused teriblle drainage when I fixed HD2. So after replacing sim card it was ok again (2+ days on batery saver prediction, but usualy lasts for day and half).
p.s. I use yuki-xbmod rom on adata 8gb C4 sd card

if I let those things turned on, my battery life is halved, this may not be the main but I think it works, right?
I'm using a SD SanDisk's 16GB class 6, once wore a sandisk 8gb class 4 and nothing has changed about the battery life .. it's not strange?
Does the capacity of the SIM influences that too? there are various SIMs sizes right? mine is very old: D
That does sound strange I must say :-( Could you try to turn on flight-mode, let it rest for 30 mins or so and then check the batterystatus again? Then at least we can tell if the radio is draining the phone or not!

I always turn of localization and sometimes use 3g. My data is always on. Am using a 16 SanDisk card. I don't know the problem. Am thinking of doing a task29 and reflashing the rom. Do I have to repartition the size in Magldr? And can u plz give me simple steps in doing it because I will be using hd2 toolkit and that will be my first time. Thank you...
