FM Radio for Elf

Is there a cab of FM Radio for Elf??

The Elf does not have fm radio, never has, never will. It is not capable as it does not have the hardware; however, if you want to try it anyway - Try the FM Radio cab for the touch diamond.

Sorry, It doesn't work because it can't work. As I said before, No hardware in the elf for FM Radio.
If you have a good data plan - Use can listen to internet radio. This is what I do and I get much better selection of music to listen to with no *(or hardly any) commercials.

Never heard of such a thing myself...
However, you can go to the dollar store and buy one of those cheap fm scanning pocket radio's - even comes with ear buds and you are good to go

Hi i think there is a bluetooth headphone with built in FM radio ( may be Motorola ! i cant remember ) you may search ebay or amazon

Mercedes BT Remote Sim Access SAP, any news

Hi everybody,
is there any news using the Mercedes Bluetooth SAP cradle with the HTC Touch HD?
Comand will detect the Phone, but then won't trigger the authentication dialog on the phone but instead gives up immediately.

The version using remote SIM access will not work, you have to replace it with the Hands Free Profile adaptor Mercedes Part No:B6787 5877, which works fine but doesn't use the antenna and amp built into the car, it uses the phone's own antenna so connection is not as reliable. Has been working OK for me though.

SAP compatibility
Yeh, I would of thought a high profile phone like the HD would support this.
I have had to settle for the far inferior HFP with poor connectivity and reception.
I don't think it is rocket science, but perhaps less of a priority for our wizards at XDA.
Would welcome any suggestions besides changing my phone or my car.

I'm using the MB Bluetooth cradle adaptor in an '07 ML. Pairs up and works great for answering and dialing out but there is no access to the HD phonebook or previously dialed numbers. Sad as the wifes iPhone is 100% compatible.

I have exactly the same problem,just added a new post on this!
I find that once you flash a rom you can have full functionality but when you add any extra programs you cannot view the address book or the recent calls.Very frustrating.

It would be awesome if someone stumbled upon a tweak that would correct the problem. I'll try some bluetooth setting changes in montecristoff's HD tweak and report back if I have any success.

I am using the VW Passats Sim Access Profile and this works perfectly. Make sure that the SAP is activated under the bluetooth settings on the phone..
I also cannot sync the adress book, but had the same problem with my old Touch. Guess this is a WinMob problem. A workaround is to use the SIM Manager and copy your contacts on your SIM card as well, they won't show up in the contact list anyhow. Then have the car sync with the SIM card and all is ok...

Actually, I'm not sure its MB's fault. Like I said the wifes iPhone is 100% compatible and so was her Motorola razr before that. To me this points the finger at WM.

Actually it's Mercedez's fault. MB is known by the lack of support for BT connection on their cars...
My father has a CLS, and by default only supports a handful of mobile phones. He has a SE k800i and the CLS wont go with that phone. And there's a official list, from MB, with only a few phones that work with the builtin BT on the CLS.
On the other hand his phone works like a charm, like my HD, on my BMW S1. This also includes full support on BT SAP.

Note: I don't know if these issues have changed lately, ie more support to more BT phones from MB on their cars. Maybe now MB has more support on this.

I've got a jvc headunit which is pairing nicely and auto connecting with my hd, one main issue though it it doesn't seem to be sending through the id3 tags, anyone managed to get these sent through from htc touchflo 3d?

i`m having the same problem! using the HTC Touch Pro with Mercedes Bluetooth HFP Cradle on E Class. Everything works perfect, except the thing, that i can`t see my contacts on the Command!
Any suggestions, please

N95 and SAP
I have a Nokia N95 8gb and I'm thinking of buying the Mercedes bluetooth SAP-profile for my CLK. I was a bit surprised though when I read on www.viseeo.se (in Sweden) that the SAP-profile does not import the contacts from the phone memory, only the SIM-memory.
Anybody using N95 with the MB SAP that can confirm this?
I prefer original MB products of course.

I can confirm that the N95 8GB works with the SAP module but you do have to copy your contacts onto the SIM.

I cannot connect the htc touch hd with the BT craddle from my mercedes glk (partnbr: A2048200535).

I had no problems with accessing the phonebook (POL and SIM) with the HFP Module on my 2005 C-Class (Comand) and my Orbit. The 2009 C-Class uses a different system so I cant say anything about the HD. BUT, I had good success (in the former car) with this little software when it came to the sync of bigger contact lists: JetWare Mobile http://www.jetwaremobile.com/
Lets you choose what contacts you want to sync. Perhaps it helps you with your problem, too.

Please forgive me/move thread if this is the inappropriate forum. I couldn't decide for 10 minutes, so I decided to go with the dev forum.
The FM radio: Is it going to be impossible to get it working on the N1? From what I understand the current state of play, devs have got the app working, it scans and finds stations, but it's as though the audio lines are physically not connected up (is this accurate?).
Could it be a limitation of the Alpha status of the Desire ROM being examined?

i think it is radio's fault
if google give us a new radio with fm and maybe some extra mb ram it will work just fine

I'm pretty sure the N1 doesn't have an FM receiver in it.
And if you don't have the hardware, you don't have the hardware. Software can't magically make up for it.
It'd be like trying to get an FM signal out of a toaster.

It has the hardware...there is a Gizmodo (think it was them) teardown of N1. Discusses the FM capabilities. Also...Desire and N1 have same hardware on the inside (different trackball feature and buttons..but the same). There are posts around the forums confirming this by Modaco and some others.

The Nexus One features a Broadcom BCM4329 chipset with "IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n system (MAC/baseband/radio) with Bluetooth® 2.1 + EDR (Enhanced Data Rate), and FM radio receiver and transmitter" (according to Broadcom's product page).
It may not be fully connected up, or it may just be a software issue (hence my asking in this thread) but the hardware is in there.

What we need is the Desire's completed ROM, and might need it's headphone with built in FM receiver as well. When yo utry and open the FM radio app, it asks you to insert headphones with a FM receiver... well, some have tried and get it to lock on stations, but no sound. Which seems to mean it is a lack of a completed ROM/app, not hardware.

It's possible we may never get this feature working. Not a big deal to me, though. Pandora works fine!

The headphones don't have the receiver in it. it simply uses the headphone cable as an Antenna just like the iPod Nano's built in radio.

any headphone can act as radio antenna...at least it works in nokia symbian phone. no need to use specific headphone.

Yes and no... if the chip set itself has FM, which the Nexus seems to have, then this is true. But for many "dumb" phones it is the head set itself. This is why I said may need the Desires headphones, and then went on to say it seems more like a lack of a completed ROM/app, since you can tune, just no sound.

Pandora is way better" there is one show in particular here in town that I can only either stream over the internet (requires flash) or listen on the radio that would be kickass if I could catch over FM on my phone. If i want to listen to music then FM radio is definitely the last place I'll go lookin....

I'm not sure I would use the FM radio every day, sure, but it's an important feature nonetheless. For fast local news with minimal battery drain there's nothing like having a radio handy.
Many of the on-line radio services are great/better, but require you to use precious data bandwidth, and I resent that. I don't like the idea of my phone being a gateway for the phone company to make more money off me. I spend most of my life within wifi hotspots, and use the cellular web service as little as possible. Apps, audio books, and presynched RSS feeds can pass the remaining time.
For example, I was shopping for an iPhone in the final months of '09, and the cell companies all offered to "unlock" the GPS function of the iPhone "for three months for free". Hang on, I asked, the iPhone has its own GPS, so why a) would I need them to "unlock" the capability and b) I would have to pay for my own GPS after the first three months? I learned that, while the GPS coordinates come for free, the maps are the domain of the cell company. Screw that.
One of the best features of the N1 is the built-in Google maps, and while I might be willing to pay one-time for TomTom maps or software (the best GPS OS imho) but pay every month forever, no way.

Thinking of buying carkit(hard)

I am planning to buy some bluetooth carkit for Raphael and I want to ask you for your opinions and suggestions.
I want following:
- Build into a car directly-hard kit
- Sound goes to loudspeakers
- Big display to browse phonebook(Outlook),call logs(missed,incoming,outgoing)
- Comfortable control and browsing phonebook(not like wheel on Parrot)
- Phonebook with support for more numbers per contact
- Maybe some control buttons separated from display
- Browsing phonebook should be quick,not slow.
Has anyone some suggestions?

I have researched a fair amount on the subject. Never got too far - you will never find what you are looking for.
Your BEST bet in my opinion is to go for a higher end headunit - i think Pioneer makes a bluetooth capable receiver which has a lot of the functionality you require. I think they were like DEH-700bt and DEH-900bt. When i get some more cash (and these start showing up on the used markets) i'm buying the 900 model myself.

I know it's not enough for what you're looking to do, but if anyone sees this and cares, I got the MotoRokr T505 for like 70 bucks new on amazon, Does bluetooth hands free, stereo audio, fm tranmitting that autoscans for the best channel, has phone and media controls on it, battery lasts forever, audio quality is great, people don't even know I'm on a hands-free, uses your cars existing stereo, I can't say enough good things about it, had it for over 6 months, not a single problem.

However,I don't accept them,because:
- car radio with BT is for me useless,because in my car it is located pretty far from driver(Citroen Evasion),so I cannot comfortably see phbook on the display. Another thing against,it is expensive and for example Alpine I tried was unable to browse contacts.
- MotoRokr has no display,so big disadvantage for me.
I like the BT carkit in our company's Skoda Octavia II,with comfortable browser located right in front of my eyes on the onboard display,controls on steering wheel,sound to speakers,etc. I want something similar to my private Evasion.

Take a look at parrot.com site.

I use THB Bury CC9060 Plus.
It's touch screen or fully (even the deepest settings) voice controlable, works with up to 2 phones and one A2DP connection at the same time and offers great sound quality.
No need to take hands off steering wheel for anything you would like to do.

How could one use a cell phone(s) to listen in on their office when off premise. For instance-A phone with ringer turned off & auto answer where a phone will answer after a set amount of silent rings-3, 5, 10 etc. Or could Bluetooth be used if someone was only 15 feet away & again an auto answer scenario/setting. Sometimes a headset is supposedly needed & has to be plugged into achieve this effect & would use the Michael in the headset for listening. Any hardcore mods would be OK that may require soldering, micro soldering, extra parts, rehousing phone in different case, programs etc. Also, If anyone knows of any Java options/programs or anything that would need a cable & software would be fine too. Yeah, An older Java type track phone would be great-But Android, Windows Mobile etc. would be fine. Or would a website work for 2.4 ghz fine tuned to the device & have it bookmarked on a browser on an android phone device for quick access but prob limited range unless there is a site you can buy a page for your special needs-Or what aouta scanner site like radio reference?. Also is there anyway to listen to the audio portion of 2.4 ghz The portion of the band used for security cameras etc. Audio would be fine-Video a bonus. Bluetooth operates somewhere in the 2.4 ghz band as well. Some phones have FM radio but that would require a major overhaul_basically starting over as the system is not set up for a FM transmitter-But it could be done. I've seen devices that use a sim card like a computer mouse that works/acts like any mouse but uses a GSM sim card-So, One calls the number assigned to the sim & gets full audio of the room with no distance limitations-But many have the disclamer "Does Not Work In USA Or Canada" Most say this-But not all. I'm wondering if this is for legal reasons & more of a formality than reality as I had a similar situation before. What would be the best GSM sim do you all think would be best? Also a finished modded unit would be fine too-But really need the reciever to be a phone-Of any type. Let me know. Thanx.

Saw a phone modded & done for sale by an outfit in England for about $1,500 that was amazing. Did way more than I needed-But maybe at a later date etc. $1,500 is way out of budget-But zi'm realistic & not cheap for what I need. Prob a $300/cap.
