The only Metal I have on my TD2 is on my storage card...hehehe
Under the softkeys is the scroll bar which is part of the digitizer. There is a thread about replacing this, just search on it.

Does the atom play vidoes? and how to fix air bubbles!

Hey,
I just got my atom in the email after o2 had the phone for 3 months because of a cracked lcd screen they are hopless!
Any way i was wondering how do i play Videos on the atom? and is there a way of changing the color of the home screen text as it is all in white i rather have black because i have a very light background picture!
Also is there a way of using a mp3 file to play when you receive an sms just like you can do when you receive a call?
Also how do i remove small airbubbles under the screen protector?
thanks

Try to use an adhesive tape in the corner of the screen protector and carefully pull it.

Is there an easy way to remove the back cover...

...or am I missing something. Nothing in the manual about how to remove it. Do I push down and slide or apply pressure from the side...it proving to be a right pain ...cheers

The first time it is hard. On the back cover push down and up towarsd the camera
and i find using the palm to apply the pressure the easiest
place palm near the camera lens and slide it out
Thanks guys. Done it

Windows slide unlock, Can you move it?

I like the windows slide to unlock feature.
But I hate the location of it? What's the point of putting it right at the top of the screen
If you've got the phone in your right hand it's almost impossible to slide it around (not that I'm complaining about the screen being too big )

I have the slider on the bottom of the screen. I installed 3 cabs for the lockscreen. One of these put the slider on the bottom of the screen. The 3 cabs I used are Dusk_6.5_Lockscreen_v3.0.CAB, HeartofWolf Lockscreen fix v4 transparent.cab and tommy34_fix_2_not_disappear_(W(Q))(Q)VGA.cab. Found them on htcpedia (heartofwolf you can find here http://htcpedia.com/forum/showthread.php?t=363)

OK, don't bother. I tried it and it looks good. Seems to do exactly what I want.
hmm, maybe can skip s2u2 then, since having not so big hand sliding all the way up with one hand was kinda hard
thanks
Why not use your right hand thumb to unlock it?
I can do it with no problem when I'm holding the HD2 in my right hand.

possible to move the small, "x" and "ok" button?

I'm using a gel skin, I find it difficult to press the small x and ok buttons on the top right of the phone without having to peel the skin back just a little to use the buttons. Is it possible to move them to the center or even a little to the left where they are more accessible with one hand instead of using two?
Thanks

Cant be done. Try 6.5.x roms for more finger-friendly
I totally agree that the X is not accessible with a gel skin. Is there a cab that would allow this? Would someone please make a cab app for this? Thank you!
Thanks for the responwell that kinda blows. I will look into other roms and see what they can do.
much appreciated
Why not use the back hardware key (the arrow) at the bottom of the screen? It has the exact same effect...

Air Bubble around the Home Button

I found out that i have a little bubble at the upper right side of the Home Button....is there anybody with something similar ?
It became quite annoying as i tend to look at it instantly when i use the phone..
Don't look at the screen shield, i removed is just to check then i managed to reinstall it but it's way too far from perfect...
is it under the screen protector or actually under the screen?

It looks to me as you have a screenprotector applied, look in the bottom right screen corner where its cut. Never seen or heard of bubbles in a glas screen itself
