Sometimes when I write sms the XT9 just don't work, but it magically work the next time I write. This is bloody irritating. Anyone got this problem? Are there any fixes?

I use HTC Touch Dual and seems to have hang problem when sms coming with vibrate. The vibration is not going to stop and the screen just freeze.
I tried hard reset, and don't install any program, but the same problem still happen. i also use the original tone given from HTC. It's not always but it's the one that bugging me lately. Maybe you guys have idea what the solution?

i also having similar problem sometimes when received a SMS the phone will non-stop vibrating until you softreset or received another SMS but that's no freeze like teguh36.
same issue here... turned vibration off for sms for the time being... device doesn't 'crash', but it won't stop vibrating... Is this a female phone or sumthin? ;-)

I also have the same issue but no freezing.
A quick fix I use is to jump to the Profiles tab, click Vibrate and then back to Automatic (I usually keep it on Automatic). This does the trick without having to do a soft-reset

My uni has always had an annoying problem with the on screen keyboard... It often wont work.
Some times you select the point where you want to write and the keyboard automatically pops up,
other times you have to select the keyboard icon and it works,
but quite often it wont pop up and when you select it the keyboard flashes up for a moment then vanishes.
I am running the latest orange UK rom, Is there a fix for this bug?

6.1 keyboard still disapears
Hi all,
I' still have this problem, no one got any ideas?
I finally got the courage to flash to 6.1 which I thought would cure the problem but it still keeps disappearing.
I am running TML871_WM61_21028_REGULAR_64M
I'm not sure my previous post is clear. Its the on screen keyboard I am talking about.
It pops up as it should and sometimes is fine but often will have bouts of just disappearing while typing.
has anyone else had this problem or do you think its a hardware glitch/faulty touch screen?

I have looked everywhere but can not find any setting for it, and i have upgraded to the latest stock htc rom but still same issue:
Sometimes, only sometimes, when I get a new text/sms message the phone beeps about it, but sometimes it just flashes the green light and no sound. When I turn the display on, it takes a second and then! the beep! for a new text/sms is played. It is very annoying, as I can go hours without knowing I actually have a new message.
Anyone else have this issue? anyone know the solution?

yea it happens to me too, duno y tho. Sometimes mine vibrate with no sound and the vibration doesn't stop either, just keeps going.
HTC released a hotfix, go check their website.

The advanced config tool is knocking around somewhere, should come up easily in a search, hope that helps...
Sometimes when my topaz is off, it won't turn back on or wake up. I know this isn't a problem with the button because it also doesn't respond to phone calls or charging. The only way to fix it is to reset it by pressing the red button. This is really frustrating since I will miss calls etc. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution? Please Help!

Its a ROM issue
ive found that taking the stylus out SOMETIMES works...but as Bruce correctly said...ROM issue.
I use the phone keypad as my favorite keypad..
but everynow and then it changes by it self to the qwerty one..
Anyone have this problem and maybe a solution?
i had this kind of experience once or twice. But only after a phone freeze, and battery take-out.
Other than that, it never automatically switch to qwerty.
If you need to restart, try to shut down properly. Or use a restart software. Maybe that should solve your problem.

Mine do not have this problem... my real problem is that the XT9 keep wanting to work regardless of me always choosing 'ABC' as my input choice. XT9 on the keypad sucks in imho.
I have also had this issue one time. Maybe a ROM issue?
