Market issues - Hero CDMA General

I flashed Fresh 1.0 a couple nights ago and now I am noticing that I can't get to a lot of apps on the market. For example, a search for "Twidroid" turns up about 15 apps, none of which are actually Twidroid. I tried scanning the 3D barcode from a search site and I got a market screen saying no results returned. Is there a fix? If not, does anyone know if the other roms like Modaco 1.3 have the same issue? I really like everything in Fresh 1.0 but I don't want to have a semi-crippled market. Thanks for any help in advance.

Did you try out the 2.1 rom?
http://geekfor.me/known-issues/known-issues-open/market-items-not-showing-after-using-2-1/
There are no market issues with fresh 1.0. Searching twidroid returns 14 results. The first two of which are twidroid and twidroid pro.

I read the bug you linked, should have done that first. Now I see the problem. Hopefully it will resolve soon. Thanks.

i can also confirm that i am having market issues, and im not reallys ure how to refresh it so that i can see all of my apps. i flashed to 2.1 like others have about a week+ ago. I reflashed back to 1.0, but have not had any luck in seeing teh "refresh."

i have the market issue as well. I went from 1.2 MoDaCo==>2.1 AOSP===>1.2 MoDaCo. Market missing protected apps since. I have also went back to stock once and still no protected apps. So ill blame google on this one.

We have forum post some what dedicated to this issue already, so I encourage you to post there (and bump it up ) so all of us with this problem can sort of stick together. Still no changes here either...

Can Not Download From The Market

I am successfully running the Magic 5.0.1G rom... and everything was running OK... then yesterday I cannot download from the market.
I shows that "download is starting"... but it never actually downloads....
I tried rebooting, turning wifi on an off.... nothing is working.
I have the app to sd engaged.... but I did not mess with the cache to sd.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks!
Web
Same problem here. I had to flash back JF 1.43 RC9. Any solution would be appreciated.
Same problem here. Same details also. Looking forward to any ideas.
**app to sd not enabled.
Same here 5.0.1g, apps to sd not enabled, tried starting gtalk, cycle wifi, cycle airplane mode, multiple reboots, clearing market cache, everything I found on google. I don't want to go back to JF. Any solutions?
Yeah, boycott the market. We should make our own market!!! Free apps. How dare they decide to cut off the folk who could no longer wait for them to release "buttcake" and downloaded the Magic rom. I thought Google was my Friend. Now I see otherwise. I pay for their open sourced product to find it's nothing of the kind!!! Dirty rotten heathens!!!
or... we can just wait till the cupcake is released or the G2 hits the states. Market should be back up. This could also be a big ol' mistake in which case "Google is my friend, buddy and the best man at my wedding!!!" If not... Start a market and pay developers 88% of the proceeds...
I'm having issues similar to those stated. I noticed this morning that the apps weren't downloading, but after a few minutes they started. Tried a few more ten minutes later and the problem is back again. I'm running 5.01G appstosd
Did reverting back to JF solve the problem for those who did so? If not, could it possibly be a problem with the market itself? Maybe they are updating, and throttling the downloads to reduce the load while doing so? Just throwing the idea out there. I'm rather new to the scene and don't really know if that kind of thing ever happens. All other networking is working fine, and the market got a few apps for me today after it stopped working. Other files download from elsewhere. It sounds like an issue with the service rather than the roms.
Based on a report from BGR it's jus the G branch of the Cupcake builds while the HTC one still has access for now.

This was report to BoyGenius from XDA. Check the Magic/Saphire thread - last couple of pages.
Thanks for posting that.
I'm still keeping the build though. I don't need program updates and when I do I'll just download them off the online webs or download on another g1 and copy to an SD (for free apps) obviously.
Not getting rid of the candy they have in this build just for a market.
Didn't take long to get this problem solved. New builds labeled r2 (fixed market) can be found at Haykuro's google code page
http://code.google.com/p/sapphire-port-dream/
Sweet. Haykuro is god.
I downloaded it and flashed it and I still can't download apps from the market. I'm using 5.0.1Gr2-appstosd. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this to work?
I wiped the phone before I updated also FYI
IM still having this issue, with the new 5.0.1Gr2
I am still having issues as well. Also, do not know if it's related, but on my t-mobile bill it says £ instead of $ on the "amount due ---"
im using 5.0.2H and ive never had an issue with the market, nor did i have one with 5.0.1H or 5.0
doesn't works
what im wondering is where is everyone getting this info about google blocking 'cupcake' users from the market? where is the official statement? because im using haykuros 5.0.2H and everything works on the market for me

The 5.0.2.H build works fine the issue is only on the Google Builds. I've tested the HTC builds and I can dl from the market with no issues, but once I install the Google one I run into the issue.
I have the same issue with the gr2 build of apps to sd...I used the HTC build prior and market was fine, but everything else was glitchy so I went for the google build...still, this rather sucks..I wanna play my paid apps!
Flashed to the HTC build until problem resolved. Even with no wipe, just a flash, market works fine.

Market problems after trying AOSP 2.0

Hi,
I was playing around with LoxDev's most excellent AOSP 2.0 ROM today. After installing, I added the Google apps so that I could look at the Market. This all seemed to work fine, but I noticed on "My Downloads" that most of my paid apps were missing.
Anyway, I reverted back to my previous ROM via the Nandroid backup I made before flashing 2.0, and now I find that the Market problems have followed me.
Specifically, most of my paid apps are no longer in "My Downloads", and I can't even find them if I search. Of course, they are all still installed on the phone, so I've not lost anything, and I can still see many paid apps on the Market - just not most of the ones I already own (though oddly I can see some). I tried buying another app to see if that would "refresh" my list of apps, but that is now stuck on "Authorizing Credit Card".
It seems likely to me that playing around with the Market on 2.0 has done something server-side to cause this issue.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dave
I did the same thing, i reverted back, i backed up my apps and bought new ones and backed them up, and imported them into my AOSP rom file because market enabler doesnt seem to work for me on 2.0. But when i went back, i didn't have this issue. this is strange
I am finding this too, some of the apps have also disappeared from the market altogether for me! Luckily I only have a few 99p apps installed, but as a warning to others!
I fixed my issue by wiping the device so that I had to go through the set up wizard again. When I went into the Market, I was asked to confirm the terms and conditions, and I could once again see all my paid apps.
I then restored the Nandroid backup that I made prior to installing AOSP 2.0, and then I could see all my apps in the Market again. The new app I purchased began to install immediately too.
Regards,
Dave

Did it ever occur to you that the apps's devs can manage their accounts so that their apps only shows up in certain regions or on certain versions of the operating system?

I am *well* aware of this. The point is that my apps disappeared after running the Market on AOSP 2.0, and even after restoring my Nandroid backup (back to Modaco 2.8) they did not reappear.

Indeed clearly something was left behind - but I was quite surprised that a Nandroid restore didn't fix it on its own.

i did a wipe
and reinstall modaco 2.8
wipe again
reinstall again
but i still can't see radalert und twidroid in the market
@foxmeister did you wiped and go through the setup process again while using asop 2.0?

grr same problem can find twidroid in the market. Also missing some barcode scanners
Is it possible that this apps don't have support for Android 1.5?
It could be, that marketknow, that we are still at Android 1.5 and shows noapps, that have no service for Android 1.5
has anyone fixed this yet?? i still can't get around it. I need my twidroid.
Has everyone had this problem? It seems that the Google account needs to reset itself.
Been reading in a few places and if you log in with a different Google account the missing apps show up.
Getting a few paid apps pop up but still no twidroid. Also when I went to help in the market it said that "help wasn't available in my language"
Blacklisted for custom rom?
I think you need to re run the the agreement thing for the market as right now your google account is "un agreed"
sorry guys.... wouldn't it be "enough" to just uninstall the market app and reinstall it from apk? First start = terms and conditions accept button, doesn't it? I had a similar issue with googlemaps and evn though it took a lot of effort that is KIND of what I did. Some of you surely know it's not too hard and could maybe figure out a quick how-to... Just an idea!
ok, I've found a workaround. I tried to flash 2.1 ASOP ROM, open Market, Accept its Terms... then wipe and flash MCR. The Market is normal.

market.google.com updated...

Allows you to manage APP installed via the website and have them pushed to your Android devices. Not sure if anyone has looked at it yet.
Im on Bonsai ROM with Market version 2.2.11 and its not working for me. The website finds my Epic but apps don't get pushed to my phone when I click install. Is there a newer version I need?
I havent I'm not by a computer but I'm interested though....
Is it like the app store on itunes?
I'm tired of updating my phone and not having acess to certain apps
This would take all the pain away!
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Worked for me, but I'm on stock.
Wasn't that one of the features of Gingerbread? It thought they mentioned that at the Froyo push last year.
They actually first showed this off last year at the Froyo event.
Getting SERVER NOT FOUND error?
I was able to use this today successfully. I remotely installed 3 apps, with absolutely no problems. It recognized all the programs already on my phone.
I'm on Nebula 1.0.7, so stock is not required
I'm on ViperROM 4.0.2c and am able to use it. The thing I like the most about it is that it has kept track of all the applications I've installed (which isn't the case when I flash my ROM). So I can reinstall the APPs throught he market. (yes the market keeps track of my purchased APPs, just not the rest of them via the phone.
It also makes installing the same APPs to multiple devices at the same time via the same Google account very easy.
I am on Quantom 2.7 and the website just doesn't see my phone at all. Wonderful.
are you guys just going to market.google.com??? I can't get to it from my computers.

Google the term "market"
Thank you.
And for anyone else reading this, the correct website is:
https://market.android.com/
I'm running Nebula and when I go to the web market, all of my apps that I've downloaded are there, but it won't recognize my epic. Anyone else found a fix for this?
Works on the current nightly of Cyanogenmod 6.
Shows the list of currently installed applications, and the instant I told it to add Angry Birds (not that I'm interested) my phone began the download.
Awesome.
Combined with the way all apps reinstall after a new flash, I should not need to use the crappy on-phone application again!

Well, I just flashed to a new ROM and am now once again having trouble with the sync.
My market.android.com list shows like 20+ applications, but Bonsai ROM downloaded 2 and acts like it is done. I'm going to have to go down the list and search for each of them now. Or maybe I'll try the same from market.android.com
EDIT it's working, but the list of installed apps on the phone's Market won't even update...
Time to say "goodbye" to appbrain. Finally.
Oh nice
Thanks for the tip. I was able to use my computer to browse the market and it was able to see my installed apps ok. I am running stock DI18.
Darkk
Says no phone associated with my account even though I can see my market history. I'll chalk it up ito being a new service and not fully up and running yet.

[Q] Market apps requiring location are now missing/incompatible with Adam

While chatting in IRC "cos" brings this to our/ my attention, that it seems like location based apps are now missing and deemed incompatible with the Adam.
Well this seems to be new in the last week, maybe even since the weekend.
I had several apps installed on my Adam from the market; dolphin browser HD and mini, as well as Locus Free, firefox, google maps, gps status and many others are now missing and grey'd out as incompatible with the Adam through the online android market.
Anyone else notice this?
-CC
They show for me but I'm running the CM7 ROM.
still there for me on Beast
I am on stock beta, used the market + root + adhoc hack.
Guessing a build.prop edit is at hand, anyone have any suggestions?
Might have to take a look at what's on other roms ie beast that have it working still.
-CC
EDIT: just to test I flashed vegan 04042011, as others have claimed to not having this issue with that rom. And same issue, shows up in market account, when looking for gps status or dolphin browser hd, they show grey'd out as incompatible..
I thought perhaps something to do with activating AT&T, I used market enabler to switch carrier to Tmobile, same results.
Found something else, my market updates itself to version 2.3.4 or 2.3.6, vegan came with 2.2.11.. Is there a way to stop it from auto-updating?
EDIT2: Flashed Beast 2.1.4 rom and it's market version 2.3.4 and the apps missing or incompatible with the previously listed roms do show..
I had the same issue on Utopia Beta 2 and VEGAn 04042011, but it showed most if not all the apps on Beast 2.1.4.
Rothnic mentioned it may have something to do with permissions, the issue with market not showing location based apps, Dougie187 suggested I copy Beast rom permissions, since it does work and put them on my stock adam.
So that's what I did and it works!
-CC
I've got the same issue, can't find maps, dolphin browser HD or any other gps based app on the market. I've got the stock rom with root+market, can you tell me please how to solve the problem??? I don't know where to find the permissions you're talking about nor how to put them on the adam.
Please I really need help.
Many Thanks
Utopia
Working fine on root+Utopia rom
hi CC, same issue with me. .please elaborate. the process to transfer permissions on my Adam running Eden's 2.4
PLEASE help it's really an important issue!!!

EdenX should not have this issue, as it includes much more than just the standard root+market hack.
I would ask the dev of that rom directly in their thread.
-CC
Try this:
Settings — Applications — Manage Applications
Choose All
Choose Market
Force Stop
Back out, choose Google Service Framework
Force Stop
Clear Data
Back out to the homescreen, run the Market (it should fail – that’s what we want)
Reboot
Wait at least one minute after the system boots up, then retry the Market.

[Q] CM9 (SD Card) Google Play can't download some FREE apps anymore

I was running CM9 latest without any issues. I've downloaded a bunch of free apps...no problem.
All of a sudden, I can't download some FREE apps any more. I get the message :
"Error processing purchase"
Lots of people are having this kind of issue and I haven't found a fix for it yet. I have not tried uninstalling it and reinstalling yet.
I've tried clearing the data/cache in the app area. That did not help.
Its really odd.....some of the freebie's I can.....some I can't
Time and a couple of reboots seemed to fix that same problem (on a different ROM) for me.
I don;t think Google has all the bugs worked out of the new Play Market.. I get random errors on various apps when I try to update or download. Most work, but some can't finish the download or won't download at all.
Thanks......but very weird
Yeah, strange things happen on the new Play Market even on my stock Motorola Droid X2
So I shut the nook down for a while...started it up again and now I can download free apps again. No changes.
The problem was going on for days before I posted here.

Nahhhhhh , Google is playing with their Play implementation , getting ready for their big movie and cloud grand opening. I would expect random issues for a few weeks.
Something to look forward to!
PLAY is been a real mess.
It is not only in CM9, and it seems to affect only certain apps. I have the same problem with one game that I had installed on other SD several times before but have trouble today. While other apps installed fine.
Any possibility of reverting back to an earlier Market app if this continues? I don't have this problem (yet) but always anticipate the worst from Google. Running racks' triple boot now, everything hunky-dory.
I think the problems are on Google's server side not the app. I have seen reports from people that reverted back to old market and still had the problems.

I can verify that. The apps that I have problem to install yesterday, it has not problem today.
