As in the subject, when I go to the HTC music player in portrait mode, it is very slow: on the top-left corner I see an icon spinning and for a few minutes it is quite impossible to browse thru the songs by wiping the album art.
I dont have the same problem in landscape mode, where album art is organised by album

so no one is having the same problem? or maybe no one is listening to music on the hd2?
Please use the search option - it's there to stop repeat posts.

I got that by searching this forum for the words 'music player slow'

Hi,
I am using a Touch Pro and trying to figure out the music tab.
When I swipe my finger top to bottom, it flips the song in an album view. What I would really like is for it to flip whole albums.
Any ideas how this can be done?
I'm having this exact same problem... any ideas anyone...?
Hi!
Just recieved my HD2 and being a noob to this device, I presumed that if you flipped the device into landscape, the Album would rotate into landscape mode. Do I have to set anything up on the device to enable this?
Regards,
Alan
Have a look at the wonderful BsB Tweaks app. That has a menu option in there to allow rotation for the app(s) of your choice.
A quick search of the themes and apps section should find it.
I thought the album was already landscape???
I've assumed that he means when you click the "Albums" softkey. I seem to remember having to set mine up to rotate that, but could be wrong.
Albums flops between landcape and portraid whenever I do. I thought it was the deafult action ion both the 1.43 and 1.48 ROM and I haven't fopen anything I can rememebr to change it. This is to do with the arrangement of thumbnails. If the question is really about flipping the pictures in the album to Landscape then that's totally different
What I meant is that in some of the videos I had seen on the HD2, when the guy rotated the device in the album, it went into landscape mode (riverflow or something like that). I think that the music tab did the same....
They don't need setting up - they just work. (They do for me anyway)
That's photos and videos, available from your Home Screen Tabs and not Albums.
Well, I have tried it from the Album tab and the Album application and it does not rotate.....

What do you mean by album tab? Do you mean Photos & Videos?
The tab on the bottom of the screen... with the photo icon.... next to the music tab....

Yeah - that's photos & videos, not albums. #9Just to clear that up )
I take it you're holding the phone upright when you do this?
Sorry to ask that, but it's the only thing I can think of!
When you get into Photos and videos you just twist the phone, don't click on Albums or slideshow. Just in case their was any more confusion.
Thanks guys... I have sorted it.... it works now!

how did you figure it out? what did you do?
How comes pics don't roatate in landscape if you take them in potrait and visa versa? a la the iPhone? I took a picture in potrait and rotated my phone in landscape and nothing happened.
when listening to my music im sure we all lock the screen so we dont change songs accidentally, but when mine is locked the music has short pauses about every 5-7 seconds like its a cd player skipping. but when i unlock the screen it the whole song plays fine. this happens with the music player and WMP. anybody else have this problem? any advice would be appreciated. thanks
this happens when you have a lockscreen that has the animated arrows enabled. been playing with the lockscreen?
yes i have a different slider, because i wanted the slider at the bottom of the screen. is there other sliders i can try that puts the slider at the bottom of the screen without animated arrows?
the slider itself shouldn't be a problem, its those little arrows either side of it, and yes you should be able to find another one, its a really simple edit to move the slider. there's a lockscreen editing tutorial in my sig, if you fancy an hour or two tinkering with it yourself.
i dont dare to tinker with it myself im clueless when it comes to this stuff, but i decided to try the lockscreen ccb here. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=639163)
now the music stops completely on the locksccreen, did i F something up?
nevermind it fixed itself
hehe things generally do.
Hi everyone, just had a Google nexus 10 for a couple of days now....first ever tablet PC / Android OS device - pretty experienced with PCs and Window but this is very different!
Getting on fine customising the setup and installing Apps etc, finding the solution most the time I get stuck here or elsewhere on the Interweb but there's a few minor things I just can't sort out.
I'll start with just a couple of questions and keep working on the other 'issues' myself for a while....
1) Music Player
I've added a bunch of MP3 albums to the GN10 - originally the album artwork appeared in screen you could scroll through but in finding my way around the App changed the view to a static tiled view of the album covers - no way can I switch back or between any view options now!
By the way.....stick with the standard music player or other Apps recommended? (would be nice to have a graphic equaliser.......I've set up a nice set of external speakers with Logitech Bluetooth audio adapter)
2) My Library...
My Music.......the icons on the 'Desktop' are just grey squares with the album title etc......surely the album covers/artwork should show?
........that's it for now
Thanks
Andy
Your are talking about the play music app, yes? If so the view you were talking about where you could scroll through is the "recent music" view. The static tiles is the "album" view. The view can be changed in the upper left side of the app next to the app icon. The app does have a built in graphic equalizer which is accessed by touch the menu button (3 dots) in the upper right.
As far as the widget, you may want to try removing the widget and then putting it back. A reboot may help afterwards as well. Hope this answers your questions.
Spot on re the 'recent music' view....thanks - strange that that view is not available for the full music selection
Removed and added the Library widget again but no change.........not fussed though as removed again as on second thoughts can't see the need anyway, how often would one of the few albums shown be what you wanted to listen too anyway?.......just hit the Media Player icon...
Something else strange (to me anyway lol).....
The photo gallery has imported all the artwork/album covers from the Music folder ......can't see a setting to change this?
That is strange indeed. Is the music mp3's that are physically stored on the tablet memory?
Yes all on the tablet, fully tagged etc via dBpoweramp

...anyone any ideas?
very nice,its worked fully!
Unfortunately I don't believe there is a way to remove them from the gallery. It is a quirk of android. You will notice that some apps will even create folders in the gallery to store cached images.

Why doesn't the S8 have album art cover or any type of artist picture? I have tried Spotify and Play Music.
My old WindowsPhone7 device had beautiful animated artist pictures. iPhones just show the default album picture.. S8 doesn't have anything at all? Someone tell me I'm missing something.
Shouldn't be relevant but I'm on T-Mobile USA.
Samsung GS8 does show album artwork on lockscreen. If you touch music player, it even expands into full-screen. I've only tried with Play Music and it works.
You may want to check if Play Music has all permissions for lockscreen interaction.

What do you mean by touch music player? For me touching the song name shows the small picture but it disappears right after I do anything like unlocking the phone or turning screen off.

You can see my attached images in previous post for the reference. After touching song name(first image), lockscreen music player expands (can be seen in 2nd image).

I see. But that thumbnail view doesn't stay after you unlock or turn of screen. Anyway I wouldn't call this full screen.
Looks like I found my first gripe with the S8

Ohh yes! You are right. Thumbnail view disappears after turning off the screen. I'd much rather prefer it to be a default lockscreen view for music.
Come on baby light my fire
I also was wondering why it didn't display any album art. Every other phone does it, LG, Pixel, blah blah. Like why wouldn't you want to see the artwork for the music you're listening to? Makes no sense to me
Add me to the list of people peeved by this.

I prefer it this way. I would rather see my custom background over some album artwork.
Now this is a reason for a root tweak.
I honestly don't understand why is this annoying me THIS much .. I need my album cover to show !!!
anyone figure out a way to get it to display? I miss seeing album artwork on the lock screen like on all my other phones ?
has a solution to this been found?

Does it show full album art work on your lock screen?
Yes it does
Would like to see the return of fullscreen album artwork on the lock screen without having to use an app really, Apple changed iOS11 to a small widget which annoyed me and now after coming back to Samsung that's been changed, I don't understand why...
