I saw on few videos and photos about HD2 that there are contact photos shown in emails.
Well, I only see the name of the sender...
Is this only in newest rom?
I use 1.43

It would depend on the mail server. For instance, with Gmail you won't see pictures. If you sync with your Outlook on the PC, you will.
Let me explain more...
I added photo to almoast every contact....
And almoast every contact has email from which I receive email
So...I have contact with photos and their email information...is this not enough to show their picture next to their name?
I believe it's a function of what you sync with. I understand your confusion though - it would seem logical to see the pictures anyway, but for some reason it's not so.

Hi,
how do i make the picture i use in GMail for a contact take precedence over the facebook contact picture?
also I've noticed sometimes my friends on facebook will change their profile picture but it never changes on my phone. Any ideas here?

yep, did that.
you may (probably) have to do it contact by contact, but if you go into contacts, pick the person who's photo you want to change (assuming you had a photo of them before, that was synced to gmail's contacts). go to their contact info, hit menu>edit contact. click on their photo, which should be the gmail photo. select "use this photo". it will override the facebook synced photo in your contact list.
Is there a way to pull pictures from Facebook for contacts (like on Droid phones?)...everytime I get an email I see the blank contact photo and would like to have their actual photo instead...
I think it depends on the person who's sending the email. The only time I see anything other than the stock picture is when my wife sends an email from her Gmail account b/c she has a profile picture defined. Does that make sense? I don't know if there's any way to associate your contacts with picture YOU choose but now I'm intrigued and will check!
EDIT: When you go into contacts you can add photos to your contacts. You should try if that does what you want.
Most people use SyncMyPix from the market. It works most of the time..lol

So for some reason, my contacts will sync with their facebook counterparts, and display their facebook profile picture in the contacts app, but when I dial their number, or receive a text from them, it displays no picture. Any solution?
I think it has something to do with the 'phone' contact overriding the 'facebook' contact. Either way, the way I got around it was by deleting all the phone contacts I had and just going with google and facebook. This, of course, takes away the ability to set individual ringtones (as far as I can tell). But it should solve the issue.

You can try downloading SyncMyPix from market also, it will download all your facebook contacts pics and import them into your phone and google acct contact pictures, but you have to run it every couple of days/weeks if someone changes their FB profile pic and you want the updated one to show up.

1st of all, I like HTC Sense feature to link all contacts together. But there is a problem.
When I have a Google contact WITH picture linked to Facebook contact W/O picture, every time Sync happens - it defaults to contact's FACEBOOK profile (which has no picture assigned). That means that this contact now has NO picture to show.
Sure I can go to Contact details, edit it and assign Google's picture to that contact. Until next Sync
This is really annoying. Any solution, trick, etc ? Except NOT using Sense
Not much you can do about that except tell this person to add a Facebook profile picture?
I though may be there is some sort of a trick which I dont know about
Hey folks, I was looking for a way to sync facebook pictures to my existing google contacts; the way HTC and Samsung phones did.
I tried Contact sync for facebook; but instead of syncing pics to your google contacts; this app just downloads another set of contacts with no phone numbers.... I would have an entry with no photo from google contacts; and 1 entry with a picture from facebook.
This is not what i'm looking for.
How does haxsync work? does it actually retrieve facebook pics and add them onto your existing contacts??
Just wanted to find out before I purchase.
THanks!
Haxsync also download another set of contacts (to your phone's contact book) however with address, pictures, birthday, phone numbers, etc. Most of the contacts will be automatically merged properly, however you will have to do some manual editing (you know, since some people are on your contact as "sister" while on FB she may be "Jane Doe", Haxsync can't know that)
Haxsync has a lot of options to customize, and the new version has the ability to merge the contact photo from FB with Google contacts, which is rather awesome (no longer have to redo Haxsync when flashing new ROMs).
I highly recommend Haxsync.
I second haxsync. It works great and it also syncs your calendars from Facebook to your phone. So once you accept an invite to an event, it'll be in your phone with dates, times, and location.
