In trying to use HDWall to get a new background and I'm running into some issues.
Attached is a screenshot of what's happening, as well as the image and its proper placement behind the programs of the start menu, and the original jpg.
I also read the HDWall walkthrough and followed that step-by-step and still no change.
If you notice, the background does not extend all the way behind the slider but instead stops far above it. The image also does not extend to the far right edge. If you notice screenshot1.jpg there is a black space behind the mail icons in Sense.
Here is the process I'm going through in HDWall on my desktop:
1. Drag image into HDWall
2. Press Auto Crop and Resize
3. Apply
4. Close
5. Choose output directory as my desktop
6. Create cab
7. I mark the checkbox stating, "Include Portrait Wallpaper"
8. Press Convert and wait
9. Press Create Cab
10. Move cab onto storage card, install, then soft reset.
That's exactly step for step and I'm using wallpapers from santod's pack as well.
I've tried this about 20 times with a variety of wallpapers and they all seem to stop way short of the slider and never extend all the way down or to the far right.
I am running a custom ROM with a transparent slider cab as well if that matters at all.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I just uninstalled cLaunch, a couple of Zombienexus themes and dialer skins, iContacts and Slide2Unlock. (Gonna reinstall and start fresh)
I'm pretty sure that it has nothing to do with it but as I am choosing a wallpaper/BG from Settings>Today >"Use this picture as the background"; It is no longer giving me a preview of the wallpaper with the slider for the opacity.
Did I delete it?
Does anybody know what I can do to fix this as all my backgrounds are washed out.
Thanks.
Anyone have anything on this? I'm having a similar problem. I tried to install HTC Home on mine and it locked it up. Had to do a hard-reset, then reinstalled the WM 6.1 ROM and it still doesn't give me the slider or the preview.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
This was the first thread to pop up in a Google search of the site. After some further investigation, let me answer my own question...
Hi guys,
When I put a picture as the today's wallpaper, the picture is lighter than normal.
Is there anyway to fix it and get the real picture colors ?
Thx

If you set the image under settings/today, thats what you will get. For some reason it uses a transparency value (nowhere to change this here).
The best and easiest solution I have found, is to open the Camera, and view the Album. Browse to the image you want, click it and keep it pressed so that the context menu comes up, select "Set as Today Background...". This will show you the image, and allow you to set the transparency level. Set it to zero, and the image in the Today Background will look exactly as it should.

Hi everyone,
This is my first ever cab so I thought I'd share it with you all.
I love the TF3D interface but my Rhodium came shipped with a black theme with green highlights. Green has never been one of my favourite colours so I decided to change it to blue.
I dug through all the manilla files & windows images and replaced every green image I could find with a blue one.
I'm not too sure how if this will work on other devices... I would assume the manila files won't be a problem on any device running TF3D but I'm not too sure about windows image files... Please use at your own discretion
Feel free to let me know if I missed any
My thanks to chainfire for CFC GUI - this application made my life so much easier
Please Note:
The images for the green colour scheme are contained in both Manila and the Windows directory images.
If you install the manila cab only, you'll notice many elements are still green, like the On/Off selector on the Communications Tab and the highlights in the dialer.
I'm not too sure why it was developed this way, but I have decided to split my cab up for those of you who don't wish to overwrite your Windows files.
I've also included a cab for the stock windows files in case you want to revert to the stock theme. You can revert the manila files by simply uninstalling that cab.
Enjoy
mmm, nice, I'm install it, but tab slider is in top of the active icon.
in Opera doesn't work, as is as, explorer, task bar, an all windows scheme, but is nice... good job!

This theme just replaces image files. The highlights in explorer etc can be changed by using Max TTM as these are not images but a system setting
I would include this is the theme but I don't how how...
Thanks for the compliment though, I'm glad you like it

I have the same issue and I was disappointed. But when I restore the backup (without hard reset) I did just before testing, icons appears and blue modifications are kept ! See image below :

Some of the changes remain after uninstall because some are images from the Windows directory and not in manilla files... I had a similar problem when installing another colour scheme theme from the forum. I will upload a cab tonight with the default files which should take you back to the green scheme.
I'm not too sure what you guys mean when you say "tab slider is in top of the active icon"... perhaps it's an issue with your existing custom theme. I installed this on my stock manilla theme and all works fine. Can you post a screenshot of this?
All I've done is open up the image files and changed the colours. There's no other configurations in my cab, just existing file replacements
I've uploaded the stock Windows files - check post #1
I also split up the theme cab into two parts, Manila files & Windows files so you can choose not to replace your Windows files if you don't wish to
Tried this on my VZW Rhodium over my stock theme. Now my phone dialer won't work, I have giant green circles around every selected tab, and the radio button dots now have small "phone" images inside them. Phone is utterly useless, and will require a hard reset, since your cabs cannot be uninstalled, and I can't install the windows stock cab.
Epic fail, man.

You have a branded Rhodium so naturally this will be a problem.
A lot of other people, including myself, have installed this with no problems at all.
Please do some reading on what you can and cannot do on YOUR handset before flaming other member's contributions.
Thanks i love it. hope its work at my Omnia 2
Its installed sucessful at my device without error.
but i dont know how to change color scheme
Hi idrak3,
This theme/colour scheme is only available for Manila. Are you running a custom ROM on your Omnia with Touch Flo? If not, I'm afraid this won't work for you
Hi All,
Firstly, please go easy on me, I'm new to windows mobile.
I am having issues with my O2 Touch Cruise, I have M2D installed and M2DC and have tried a number of backgrounds but all I ever see is the blue background to the home screen. Has anyone got any ideas? Everything else changes and the background to all other tabs changes, just not the home screen.
Any ideas, I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. I've looked at hh_fw_background.png in the windows directory and this image is the correct wallpaper.
Many thanks.
Mark
You should be able to change this under "Settings", "Personal", "Today". There you can select and click a picture as background. Try to use it!
Another solution would be to use M2DC for changing the order of your applications, fonts and styles.
In M2DC go to Background tab clear the path first and then use the three dot button to go to the location where your new background 'png' is located and use it as the new background.(The background photo must be in png format).
Thanks,
I now have a nice looking home screen
Mark
Anyone have any luck using this?

ok u have hd2 so try a few things
-open app, go to config and select HTC Sense v2.5 & WM 6.5 - All Tabs - No Compression, in drop down menu.
-make the image u want 800x480 in photo shop or another image app as if its not right size before u upload to this app it may cause issues as some have found out then load the image in, when it says save to desktop let it.
-goto create cab and select, include portrait wallpaper, then click convert, then click make cab
-once all of this is done u will have these files on the desktop
HDWall_taskbar
HDWall_softkeybar
MyWallpaper.cab
make a folder add these + the edited wallpaper u made in step2 and copy to hd2 then install
Can someone please tell me the steps necessary to make my own custom slider using HDWALL.
My rom i use is Cell Leo PRo V6...
I have a set of awesome transparent icons for manilla but am not sure what size the icons have to be, if i have to include wallpaper and what the specifics are with making sure i do it right.
If someone has a link, that would be great too as long as it explains it.

It's very simple, but there's some variables. Have you used HDWalls at all before? Or read the thread for the app? It doesn't give all the details, but you need to make sure you start there at least.
The pics can be any size to start really...HDWalls resizes them to what they need to be automatically, for both the small and large icons for the slider. You literally just drag and drop your chosen image into the window.
Now, the caveat is that HDWalls only natively converts slider icons for the base set of 10 that appear in 6.1 (home, people, txt, mms, cal, web, cam/pics, weather, settings, prog), not any of the new tabs added in 6.5 and up. You can kind of use HDWalls to make the others for you, it just involves some extra steps in renaming and replacing certain manila files.
hey sirphunkee.... tried it exactly as you said and it doesnot work.. i created a slider cab, ran the cab, the tp2 said it installed it but no change.
i was told that with sense 2.5, hdwall cannot create a slider because of sizing issues. but if you are successful with this then i must be missing something still. i would like to add the additional slider as well but i am not that skilled with this phone or the hdwall program.
its definitely worth creating this slider because there is not a better set of transparent icons out there to use.
