Currently I'm saving my money for an Acer Liquid.
I see that there are no ROMs for it at the moment.

I already made ROMs for the Magic & Dream and helped rooting the Samsung Behold II.
If I could get an Acer Liquid I would make ROMs for it for sure.)

Maxisma, now I had lost hope that a developer working on this great smartphone that is liquid. Thank you for your commitment. I beg to request fates: it can implement a keyboard with T9 as that of HTC hero with screen resolution of liquid? because our liquid has a basic keyboard without any suggestion of words and without t9, and HTC_ime has a resolution too low.

Yeah, it's clocked at 700 or 750mhz (can't remember which).

768MHz is the clockspeed it runs on.
Really fast phone.
When compare to Sony Ericsson X10 it is really nice and speedy. Cant find anything that is faster on the X10-prototype I have at work. Actually some applications on the X10 starts really slow, but I cant say if this is because the hardware I have there runs a development-rom or if the android-system on the X10 is to bloated with junk.
There is only 1 thing that I like better on the X10: The screen is a little bigger. But it's noooot worth 400€ more for that little "feature".

The wizard was Absolutely bricked but this man cant accept the fact of he lost his wizard. The wizard cant turn on... the red led appears.. no bootloader.... so... maybe... that 10 Euro wasnt enough to save his device.
If you think that 10 Eur is great!!!! Donate it!!!! or 5 or 1... so much people ask for a cup of coffe... a beer... but thats just the meaning of the effort that everybody has made to get this awsome devices even more functional and smooth.

some of u might know/remember me from the Xperia community or here at the Kindle Fire community, where i was lucky to be involved in brainstorming with some of the great minds at XDA to get custom kernels working on Kindle Fire... also i posted the first overclocked kernel for Kindle Fire even though i dont have device with me
i mostly develop for Xperia devices (x10, ARC, Play, etc...) and personally have a Xperia X10 & Xperia ARC... we recently received Samsung Galaxy SL as a donation from that community to work on that device... i mostly work on kernels and some fun stuff (dualboot, modified recovery, bootmanager, lots of tools, etc)... i also have a HTC Flyer for personal use... if u want to know wht all i have created/done/played with u can check the list of threads:

currently he is busy with touch based recovery...

additionally let me make this clear... we want a working device + factory cable (so that we dont brick our development device)... you guys can work out a way to raise funds for this and send us a working device... its priced around 300$ here in India... if someone knows easier or cheaper (BUT SECURE & trusted) way to get it shipped to us here in India (which covers the taxes + customs + Octroi), do let us know...

you know, it may be better just to have someone in the states grab one for you and ship it. Mailing it via USPS priority would be no more than $35 and I cant imagine the duty to be that bad on a $200 item. You can pretty much get those at a gas station out here since everyone and their brother stocks them

He he... Thats there... The issue is at the customs... I don't know what r the policies for importing electronics... I have heard some horror stories abt how stuff gets stuck up at the customs office... So don't want to take risk...

AFAIK the biggest problem with ICS on A500 is the drivers, I do not know if you could e.g. take Transformer drivers and apply them. In theory it should work as the H/W is mostly the same.

Well that if fine with me.. YOU CAN CHANGE THE OIL in my van.. Actually i can be very girly.. But i have a career in a super man environment . I went school for Construction management.. I FOR Years built high rise construction. Doing so very out about my Sexuality. When the guys get to know i was better at my job then most it got easier.. Now i do home remodeling and its VERY Demanding . i would often have to ask for help with things the guys could do easily . But THEY ALSO often called on me for help with things such as building code . I also have training in structural engineering. by the largest steel manufacturers in the us Such as DIETRIC STEEL USG METALS and so on..
Also i have a mcse degrrr. Now i will have to see this soon to support myself as my SHOULDER/ HAND DOCTORS Have made me maximum recovered..This is at a max of 8 lbs lifting no over head use of my left arm (i am left handed).LIFE IS DEPRESSING AT TIMES . TO LOOSE WHAT YOU LOVE as a career.

Look for acer drives for a chinon .(spelling is likely wrong) for linux that is the camera acer uses .. its a gateway piece of hardware. from there line of Digital cameras.Not sure they make them no more but did used to under several brand names. as stated above i was a ACER OEM DEALER..

Then, you will stay with HC. Acer presumably won't publish an ICS ROM for the A500/501, blazingwolf gave up, and I don't see any other devs willing and capable to do the huge amount of work Thor and digitex already spend in developing their close to perfect version of an ICS ROM.

Haven't seen anything from Acer saying anything even remotely in that direction. Sounds more like people just being plain impatient. Things do not always happen in the timeframe we want them to happen, it still doesn't mean they don't happen at all.

People just don't seem to realise, a company like Acer just can't work like a couple of "hacker" devs working for their own ends. They have to go through a lot of official steps to release a ROM, not the least of which is waiting for Google to approve it once they've built it. People also seem to forget that the Tegra 2 drivers for ICS were only released a week ago...

The devs most likely also have to go through quite a few extra hoops all the time due to company bureaucracy as usually everything, every single step, must be possible to be accountable to someone or something. I obviously do not know how things are at Acer, but if I know anything about these things the devs most likely aren't even allowed to compile stuff locally and are forced to always use the company's own compile-server.
I'm a professional developer by trade, though for Windows apps, not OS's. However, it does give me more than a little insight in to the requirements of a profesisonal development environment. April for an official ICS is optimistic.

Lol do you read this forum? Every contact with Acer seems to get a "yes", just not a "when" for ICS.
I had been thinking of a smartphone upgrade for sometime.
My friend just made me a very tempting offer of 9000 INR (indian rupees) which translates to around 162 USD to buy my X10
For a battered device with used up battery and wobbly USB, that's a pretty sweet offer and I'm very much tempted to sell it to him.
And that money would definitely help me purchase a new device.
But before i sell it away, I want to ask to the community here, that if you guys want me to keep the X10, you could donate me some money.
