Hello!
I heave a problem on my Leo with the (wakeup) alarm.
I missed my school every day this week, today too.
My leo sounds the alarm only one time, and stops. I don't wakep and miss school.
Can I somehow turn, some, alarm repeat? That repeats my alarm few times so that I can wake up.
please! I heave problems in school becouse of this.
*lol* That sounds very funny to me...
May you should have test the alarm before using it?
I've done that....
My solution is to use the Klaxon alarm-clock, which works like a charme.
You should give it a try!
Klaxon
i would like a tweak for original alarm ..............
I've tried Claxon, but it doesn't seem to want to go off. Anyone definitely got it working on this phone?
My short term solution is an alarm at 07:30, another at 07:45, and a third at 08:00. Not ideal!
What idiot designed an alarm that doesn't persist in trying to wake you up? The chocolate teapot award goes to them.
maybe you would like to try g-alarm...it's quite good
when i checked last time g alarm didnot support vibration ....
any how original alarm is well integrated in phone i would like to tweak it ...........
I also cannot understand why there would be a limit of 3 alarms - I got round the no repeating problem by using alarmtone5, it's horrible enough to wake you up the first time round.
hahaha
i just can't wake up. i need an extrem alarm tone.
but thanx. i will try some of this programs.
but a tweak would be ideal.
tnx guyz n grlz

Yeah right I've got that one for alarms 2 and 3.
Still though, if I've been out drinking til 4 and I'm up again at 7:30 for work, I need an alarm that is prepared to go off for 30 minutes+ if I definitely want it to wake me!
Ps. The suggestion to go to bed earlier is out of the question!
same with me!! disappointment htc.. fuken WANKER!
just make the WAV file longer
Hi
Same problem here, I just used Audacity (or any other WAV editing tool), to copy and paste the waveform several times. Now my Alarm-Snooze file is much longer, and wakes me up before it finishes. You can make it as long as you like.
I'm attaching my one if you want to use that, just copy it into the WINDOWS directory, and choose the alarm named "Alarm-Snz-long".
a question ?
if we goto settings>Menu>all settings>clock&alarms>alarms>select the reminder icon
now here whats function of repeat ........
it never works ......

Sorry, I didn't word that at all well I meant how do I get this file in the alarms section, not off my SD card. I put the file into the windows directory and it was there along with the regular alarm snooze, alarm classic and alarm light etc but when I go to set the alarm and choose an alarm tone, the alarm snooze long file isn't listed. How do I get it into the alarms section so that Win Mo recognises it?
*EDIT This new file shows when using the HTC alarm but not the Win Mo embedded one. Not a problem, I'd not actually seen the HTC alarm until just now
but this files is not a permanent solution ......
at least want to know how alarm is controlled in registry .............

My first post in this incredible forum, I have all ready found so much help here and are most thankful, please keep it up.
Is it possible to make your own message sounds and use them when recieving text messages etc.
If possible at all what format should the file be in (mp3 wav)?
Tried with an mp3 placed in the windows folder it seems it cant find it.
Any help would be appreciated.
I'm not an expert so hopefully one will reply, but I think they have to be .wav and I think they have to go in the \windows\rings folder.
cheers

Actually, you are 1/2 right, they need to be wavs, but they go directly into windows, not in the rings folder.
Steve
Yep steve is correct the sound file will need to be a .wav and place into the windows folder, ring tones can be mid,wav and so on and they are placed into the rings folder within windows.
Sound file converter???
Morning all,
My first posting also and yes this has to be the mecca for knwledge of all Wizard related things. My question:
Does anyone know of any software downloads which can convert .wma, mp3 or similar files into .wav??? I'm a complete novice at this sort of stuff but the array of ringtones and message alert tones is rubbish on my K-jam. Thanks for any replies.

You might try Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/
It's a free download. I use Sound Editor in Roxio's Media Creator 8 -- one of the MANY useful tools in that program.

YW -- (but I'm a GAL -- not a guy)!! LOL!! But, that's ok -- none of my friends can believe how "techy" I am, either. But, I'm the first one they come running to with a problem. Go Figger!!
Cheers all,
You keep refering to ring sounds, I am looking for Sounds for alarms and recieved messages, and alerts in general.
But I will try it now with wav files in stead of mp3.
Manindesert,
I'm using Sound Forge 7, but then again I really need it for all my music stuff, so give Audacity a shot.
Update Works fine with alarm and message sounds, thank you all.
Is there any way, hack or otherwise, that will allow you to point your rings/sounds to your SD card? Thought it would be nice to free some space and stop having to move files on and off the card. I change my ring tone with my mood
Javahater,
I've been loking for a hack/program/setting that will do that, but no luck so far.
Unfortunately, all SMS & ring tones must be located in main memory!
But there's a possibility to create a program that will browse a folder of ring tones on SD card & once u select a tone, it will be copied to main memory (and of course erase the old default tone from main memory) & will set this new file as the default ring tone for the phone.
Javahater and Ezzkht,
Maybe you should look here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Wizard_Tweaks scroll down to this "ANY FOLDER RING TONES"
You will need a Registry Editor like Total Commander 2 or PHM Regedit
Hope this helps
Javahater,
Have been trying above solution for about an hour, seems that this solution doesn't work under WM5, or at least it doesn't make any difference if you change the folder or not (it only points to windows not windows\rings)
Will have to keep looking.

AGREED !! I've got WM2003SE tried the steps mentioned http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Wizard_Tweaks no use.......it still picks up the default folder from \windows\rings, where as I am pointing it towards \Storage Card\Sound\ not working
ok just double checked.....in sounds and notifications options it goes to \windows\rings folder.....but I have o2 plus installed as well...and in o2 plus sounds and notifications options it points me to \Storage Card\Sound any ideas ?
Ezzkht,
Happy t worked for you, can't say the same for me.
Well it is getting more and more weird, when I look in my registry it only points to \windows\ not even \windows\rings\, despite this it still manages to pick up ringtones/sounds in the rings directory, and all sound files placed in the root of the SD Card(go figure).
I'm out of ideas right now, but am still looking for a solution and will be back if I find one.
I just used Resco Explorer with the registry editor add-in.
It worked with me without a soft-reset!
What device do you have, Mike?
Maybe some nice sounds
Hello everyone!
It's a little bit off topic, a little bit not
My advice: SD card is not really a good place for sounds, at least in my case. Why? Sometimes it happened that when I got a phone call, instead of my nice ringtone I've heard the standard one. I think it has sth to do with powering up SD card while changing from standby mode. It's just my impression.
Secondly: I'm looking for some nice SMS ringtones, not the funky ones... I'm getting a lot of messages and it's really boring if you hear "Heeeeellooooo! Your message is coooooomingggg!" every now and then. I will appreciate if you could share your ringtone with me
TroLoo
I'm after a 3rd party alarm clock for my device.
Although the standard one works, I would like to be able to have the alarm sound with a random track from my MP3 directory.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
I think Mortplayer has that functionality. I use it as my alarm, but not random tracks though.

Yeah, I've seen Mortplayer but I really liked the randomise feature when I used to use PocketMusic bundle on my old Wizzard, but it doesn't seem to wake the Hermes up properly.
Try enAlarm, you can find it here:
http://www.maik-wiege.de/en/enalarmppc/
I think you can not add the directory itself, but you can add several mp3 files and then can play these files randomly.
I'm not trying to hijack your thread but u also see the problem with the normal alarm not waking the hermes up properly. I think its a general windows mobile problem.
I wish window mobile alarms were as dependable as the palm os alarms lol.

enAlarm is an alarm clock, its not for alerts on meetings and so on. I never missed an alarm with it, even if its not running in the background. It can handle a locked and sleeping hermes too without any problems.

ty for the quick reply
Hi,
How can i replace the sound when message comes with an mp3 ? It only accepts midi i think.
Thanks
Put the tone in /windows/rings folder or root of storage card.
Buy an iPhone. Thats the only way for people like you.
If u r usin WM then copy .wav file in the windows folder and then change the notification sound from notifications.

The guy asked a question, don't be a such ****.
Message sounds can also be selected if the .WAV is stored in /Storage Card/My Documents too. This folder works for incoming call alerts and other alerts too (except Alarm tones, they have to be n /Windows for some reason!).
With my tones in my card's My Documents, and my .tsk homescreens in my card's root directory, no need to copy files after a ROM flash!

So let me guess - when you got your first HTC device you were a genius from the outset????? I think not Einstein, cut the person some slack and help - if you can that is!!! Otherwise, hold your tongue / fingers otherwise you may learn that there are others within these forums that can be equally smarmy!!!
To answer the question - you can look at asim.khans response, it is the same way that I managed to do this very thing.
Good luck.
thanks guys,
I'm sorry I couldnt reply instantly. I didnt know a wav file can be selected for a message ringtone. I wanted to select an mp3 file to be a message ringtone, I was just wondering maybe an application might change the settings and make it possible.
For the IPhone isseu, I dont think it's good for me because I love my HTC and I dont prefer iPhone, I used an iPhone for a couple days (I'm kinda nerd) and I prefer installing and uninstalling applications, trying new things, writing some little applications for my phone. It's the fun part, not playing with your fingers
Thanks for the replies

Word! Couldn't agree more.
Does anyone know how I change the alarm sound? My HTC only has a few (bad) tones and I have no idea how to add some new ones!
if you mean timed alarm sound, i suggest to install Pocket wake Up, the best way to get wake up with the music of your choice.
ugh. French? :s
you can download winff (freeware) which will convert your sounds to wav, then copy the wav files to \Windows\ on your device.
otherwise Pocket WakeUp is good, but you must use "WakeUp Tweak" (google it) to fix the issue where the program launches but the phone does not play the alarm sound...

Installed Pocket WakeUp, gave it a try and it works like a charm! I'll use the default alarm aswell for a few days to check if I have problems with it. If so, I'll install the tweak.
Anyway, it's a pretty nice program. I found some files in english but cannot install them for some reason. No prob, as I know French
with pocket wakeup, it is strange because my phone goes into suspend mode during the night (normal), but when it is time to wake up the program launches but the phone does not wake up, and does not ring...

Alarm wake up
hi , i have been searching for a way to change my pooh alarm tones on my touch dual ,and i have found this program, you can use wav,mp3 ,set any amount of alarms, repeat etc,,,tried on mine and works a dream .
hope its of use to someone ,
hi.
i'm gone try it to see if it works well at my touch dual.
(sorry my english)
I have many custom alarm signals. You simply convert the mp3s (or other files) to wav-format (on your PC) and then copy over them to /windows on your phone. They will then be visible in the alarms drop down.
I am trying to use my own alarm sound. I know that there are other ( some say even better apps ) but I just would like to use the htc alarm app but use my own sound . I tried all (I think) the tricks described on forums (placing the right type of wave 352,800 bitrate in the right folder- tried windows/rings (where all of the system alarm sounds are) and other places suggested in posts (app data/sounds and so on). nothing works. I can use my own sound for ring bot NOT for alarm
anyone has any idea how to do this... thank you!
I placed a custom .wav file in the Windows folder and I can use it as alarm and/or message
TRUE!
thank you very much!
very true
thanks a lot
in windows folder it works fine....
