Mp3 as a ringtone

Is it possible, to set mp3 as a ringtone?
If so please advice how?
if you put the MP3 into the \windows\rings folder it will show up as one of your options in the dropdown menu and you can select it from there. you will probably only here about 35 sec of the song though. i cut just the sections that i wanted for mine. goodluck

TCMP - "all" button in Playlist select tracks obscured

hi, when using TCPMP and in playlist i go to add a file and the option/button to select "all" files in a folder is obscured by the keypad expand button so you cannot click on it (which stops you being able to add all tracks off albums in one click)
Anyone else found this, or knows a way round it?
Thanks

Ringtone problem

hi guys
i have a annoying problem. i cannot choose any of my mp3s as my ringtone. they are saved under /memorycard/music and on my blackstone under /my documents/ but they dont appear in the drop-down-menu (tf3d settings -> sound -> advanced -> notification)
Try the Explorer to got to the folder where your Ringtone is. Press long on the ringtone-file and there will appear a menu. In this menu it will say something like "Set as Ringtone". Select this.
(it could be that it says something else, I got the Dutch Version of the HD/BlackStone)
thx ... it worked. actually the file was just copied to "my documents/ringtones"
obviously the songs need to be stored on the phone itself ...
too bad that it doesnt work directly with sound files on the memory card

Tried this. Start/file explorer/device/rinftones I select MP3, in Menu I only get
go to/refresh/show all files/sort by/new folder/rename/delete/edit?
Put them into device/windows/rings. Then you can Copy and paste it directly into the windows folder if you want them to show up under all other alert tones In sounds and notifications.
You can use your personal music files to be your rington.
1. First copy the files to the /My Documents/My Ringtones folder on the phone.
2. Then from the Home screen slide to the Settings tabs > Sound & display > Ringtone
3. Select the file you copied over, and then tap Done.
Alternatively, you can set any music file as your ringtone by navigating to your music using File Explorer and tapping and holding the music file and selecting Set As Ringtone.
I've found that putting them in the "My Documents" folder, and not a subfolder, works a treat. (It also means they get backed up with MyPhone.)

How to set custom mp3 clips as alarm tone?

I have migrated from Samsung, where I could set any sound of my choice as ring alarm and msg tones. But now only ring and msg tones can be set from media folder of external sd card. There is no option to set custom tones for alarms. Can anybody guide me in this regard?
Install ES file explorer and then you can select any audio file through it, just go in the usual sound settings and click on ES file when prompted
Can't you create a folder called Alarms on phone memory and put them in there?

hi
i have es file explorer installed (and also solid for a try) but when i try to set custom i can't select the file explorer like i can when i want to set the ringtone or notify instead!
i create alarms dir, but no canche!
i also check the permission for clock app and seems ok.
with the previous moto x play (that is broken now) i'm able to select es file explore and set my song, but not now.
do you have any other solutions?? i hate oxygen tone!

Go to settings > apps > show system (three dots in top right corner) > media storage > open by default > clear defaults.
Looks like if you dump it under [internal storage]/media/audio/alarms (an old-shool location from before Android 4.0), and then rescan storage (e.g. with the help of the SD Scanner app), the Clock app will pick up on alarms stored there. (Tried with my Moto X Style, which should be similar enough software wise.) You might note that the Facebook Messenger app drops its Silent tone next to this folder, under [internal storage]/media/audio/ringtones.
An alternative is to open the file in ES File Explorer (or the Pro version), open the file in ES Media Player (or the Pro version), and then from the three-dot menu, choose "Set ringtone", then "Set alarm". Someone made a video on YouTube of this technique: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9L2ArNuTRk
(I preferred the former, as it let me set alarm tones for multiple alarms differently, and preserves the standard user experience.)
Go to settings > apps > show system (three dots in top right corner) > media storage > open by default > clear defaults.

This didn't work for me on Android 6.0.1. Looks like the Clock app may not use the standard intent to pick tones.
Simply install ringtone maker apk from play store
ringdroid or zedge app.with zedge i set a nokia 3310 ringtone and i am very happy of this!
