amazon app, where is it?

just got a g1 but there's no amazon app installed. I thought g1's came with this?

should be right in the program menu.
did you buy the g1 from T-mobile? have yu ever seen the amazon app? have you upgraded your phone (what rc## are you using?)
i havent heard of any body experiencing this problem

Hi, I bought bthe phone from tmobile shop in derby uk, and its on rc8 firmware.
The amazon app has never been on my phone which really frustrates me.
How do I get the app for my phhone. I've searched android market but haven't found it.

Yes i have and feel a bit fobbed off. They just said go in to help centre on Android market and search it there. I should be able to find the app to download and install.
I've tried that but the amazon app is nowhere to be found.
Really puzzled by this.
Can anyone confirm that UK G1's DO have the amazon app and it's not USA only at the mo?

Ok, been over to the Tmobile forums and as i understand the Amazon app is not yet available for the UK market. Maybe in the next update then?

Copy protected apps missing from the Market on Orange UK Hero?

Anybody else noticed this? I have an unmodified Hero I got straight from Orange and the Market seems to be missing a lot of paid applications, the ones that use copy protection.

Yes its a known problem which has been talked about in other forums.

Can you give specific examples? Thus far, I've had no issues with paid apps with my Hero - had several on my G1 that I had to download again to my new phone.

Searching the Market for the apps mentioned on the earlier link, I can confirm that I can see some, but not all of them, an a T-Mobile G2.
I also noticed that I hadn't downloaded "DocumentsToGo" back onto my G1 (thought I had!) and when I tried it, I got the "Download Unsuccessful" message.

Nope I can't see that app.

The app I am missing is Battle for Mars. I have done the rounds ringing Orange and HTC to try and sort this out. Orange were fairly useless but finally just referred me over to HTC. HTC tried to claim there were different apps for different phones, but the example I gave them was Battle for Mars Lite was available, the paid for version was not available. They are meant to be ringing me back in 3-5 working days !?!! I will try and keep this thread posted. If anyone else has some news or can hassle Orange/HTC as well, I think that can only be a good thing and might push someone into sorting this mess out.

I can't find taskiller full - the free version is there but I want the one which has the full exclusion list. I've been in touch with the developer and he can see it in the market in France, although he thought that it may be due to waiting for google to review his account.
Guess it may actually be a similar problem to this. It's really frustrating because I would love to pay for the full version!

I've just got an unlocked hero that im using on o2. I can see the apps that others cannot, so maybe it's a network problem or related to the 'tinkering' networks like to do to phones before sending them.

That is really annoying - I can only see the free version using wireless or mobile data (standard T-Mobile G2 Touch, no root, not unlocked etc.). I'll let the developer know, it's really unfair that people who want to buy his app can't.

I can now see Taskiller full and Bluex which i havn't been able to see since i bought my hero, i have the Orange version of the phone.

checked earlier in the day and couldn't see taskiller full. I can now... I assume some back-end setting's been changed (whether it was a taskiller-full-specific thing the author did, or something google did centrally, I don't know)

Still can't see it on T-Mobile!

Same problems here, its really annoying. I really want the Bloo facebook app. The new 1.3 version is meant to be good .
Also on the topic of not being able to get stuff on this "open source OS".. WHERE is amazon mp3 uk . Can't take much for amazon/google to just shift the same program to access the uk mp3 store lol.

the guy who did http://www.cyrket.com/ mentioned apps appeared and disappeared due to sdk version checking. while i assume that isn't the issue here, maybe it's the same kind of thing? the hero's listed capabilities and the app's metadata are incompatible?
(tho why that would change just because it's sold by orange instead of t-mobile I don't know)

That might sound like a stupid question ... amm but where is the Marketplace app ? Just bought a HTC Magic today (HTC branded 32a) but i just can't find the Marketplace application ? In the list of installed Programs is zero :-(

yep, android devices in Indonesia are not GMS phone (the one that came with Google apps, and market.) Luckily, you can root your phone using this method :

[Q] New to XOOM and a few questions

Hi all
I am getting to like my XOOM now but am experiencing a few issues and hope someone can help me out with some info.
First and foremost ... do we have any communications from moto or google regarding time line for an update? In particular for the sd card and also far more generally for the whole honeycomb experience.
Next, the ebay app, the market tells me it isn't available in my region (uk) in the same way the bbc iplayer app does. I know the bbc one isn't available yet but am struggling tto confirm if that if the case for the ebay app.
I have seen a few screenshots that seem to suggest that the market can be filtered for tablet app? I cant see how ... perhaps I imagined this feature?
Some of the time I am finding the overall responsiveness pretty poor and I can't ally work out why. Anyone else getting similar issues?
Lastly ... in writing this post I have made afew typos and correcting them has been a nightmare with the text selector arrow and the cursor getting misaligned ... normal or just me?

Last I did read some news about SD card update, it said that the update is imminent, no idea what this actually means.
About your last question, yes this happens to me also.
Sorry, I can't help you with the other questions.

As far as the Sd card update I have asked that question on the moto forum and all i ever get back is that they are drafting an official response about the card, but that was about two weeks ago that they said that. Guess it takes two weeks to put out a response about a SD card that devs here already got working. Of course no one knows whether it is Googles fault for not releasing the source or Moto's for not telling us what is going on. I would count on getting it working maybe when the 4gLTE upgrade is rolling out.
As far as the market I have no idea sorry.

Next thing ... while awaiting any more concrete answers to the other stuff ...
The "darkness " of honeycomb and android generally is all well and good as a differentiating design feature compared to iOS but really I think a "light " theme would go a long way to improving the overall feel. I guess though that is something only root and a few tweaks will offer? I don't get it, before phones got "smart " a big thing was the ability to theme them but now there is next to no flexibility :-(
Also noticing a lot of widget lag when waking the device ... and I have 2 mail widgets as I have to gmail accounts ... at least one of them spends a lot of time "empty " awaiting an update, is this also standard for other users?

[Q] DVP arriving today, what do I need to install?

my DVP is hopefully arriving today, and as a complete newbie to Win 7 I was wondering what should I do/install when it arrives?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,

The frist thing I would recommend, is to update the phone(NoDo Update) through the Zune software.

1) KickBox (App for DropBox) then you can store on the cloud your videos or anythign else you want easy access too.. and not clutter the phone with.
2) Twitter App (If you twitter)
3) Amazon Kindle (E-book App)
4) Face Book App (If you use Facebook)
THose are the big ones I always install..
I would recommend installing a few games and try them out..
Being in the UK not sure if you have Netflix but I install that too..

Going to spend a bit of time today installing more.
First impressions of the DVP are WOW! I had 3 iPhone converts cooing over it last night in the pub.

Thats not true, You can roll back the software and unlock its still if you would like. I have done it with mine.

Anyone have a problem with NoDo and Kickbox or the new firmware and Dropbox.. (Both on my DVP - Replacement from Dell came with new firmware). Seems videos arent playing anymore from dropbox.
