I've already reinstalled the driver a few times with different combinations, switching driver on/off in menu - no result: "Failed to set up camera device".
Is there any working driver for 1.3 camera?

well if U are on andot's windows mobile 6 then just first thing to do after flashing the rom is set up the correct camera driver and then install appropriate cab file for HTC camera...( dont play with the settings or U just have to do anther reflash)
I just did exactly as u described. NO RESULT

well this probelm exists... thr are some registry setting that can help u make 1.3 camera with this rom... well i just wish i knew chinese cos in recent days i hav came across so many version of chinese Rom avaible at few chinese forums... thse roms as i hav mentioned hav many new settings which can help us so sum hardware upgrades to da existing typhoon like addin 1.3 camera to it.... i hav seen anndot & exitio & many others from Xda posting tht those chinese forums... thanks to ma firefox translator pluggin... i wonder why dont they share all da roms available, not only for typhoon but phones like Huricane which has only one rom avaible here at XDA developers which is not stable at all wit too many buggs in it, well thr are around 7-9 roms available.. but 3who will help..????

UpToDate is the medical textbook program. Inside there are a lot of files in HTM and JAR format. ( http://www.uptodate.com/home/index.html )
Most of custom ROMs out there do not let this program work. Only ship ROMS and Onkolog ROMs do.
I am not sure that it is about different opera and java program or not
Please guide me the way.

In response to why UpToDate doesn't work in most ROMS, it is because Opera is the default browser. UpToDate works with pocket internet explorer only it seems. You have to make Pocket IE the default browser. This solved my problem with UpToDate. Hope this helps. There should be a cab file around. I believe it is called Fix IE or something like that, unfortunately I am unable to locate the link right now.

Unfornately, with the new IE6 thats has been added to the new custom ROMS, uptodate wont work, still looking for a fix to that, maybe the new version coming up, UpToDate 17.1 will work with the new IE..... if anybody has solved this problme, please contact me!!! thanks.
Thank u my friends, I try Fix IE to Maryone and Laurentius and Dutty' s ROM . It does not work. It may as doctorcete explained to us.

I have the same problem with energyrom 2.0.
Uptodate requires windows 5.0 or 6.0 according to their sites. I don't know why it wouldn't install on anything above it. It works fine on 6.0. On 6.1, however, I don't get errors but I can't read topics when I select them ... nothing is displayed.
I have the same problem too and would love someone to make a fix in a .cab format so we can just install it before installing UpToDate and it works. Or maybe explain us how to include that module in IE without cooking a new ROM?

I tested Dutty's 2.1 ROM on my HD and UpToDate 16.3 worked fine. above that: it won't work.
I am also trying to run UpToDate in my Elf with Onyx 5.0 Beta WM6.5 ROM, but no luck yet. Can anyone post the easier solution beside cooking rom
Personally, I don't use custom ROM as I don't to mess up uptodate.
Fix IE works as the Opera would no longer be launched if I tab on the table of contents. But there would be occas. crash.........................According to Uptodate, they have never tried uptodate on HTC machine and they only recommended not to use opera as default.
IE fix really helps a lot, near 95% OK in daily function.
i had absolutely no crashes at all with 16.3 version with ie fix and the new stock official ROM and i want that with the new custom roms with the new manilla and all the new features but i can not afford not to have a fully working pocketpc UpToDate.. also trying out 17.1 version seems pretty much as it was with the previous version as in no crashes - till now - .. and on a side note i havent tried IE Fix but i am doing something that does the same thing exactly in making ie is the default explorer by installing any version of opera to the storage card and then uninstalling it.
still waiting for a reply on how to squeeze in the missing IE module in new custom roms
I personally Haven't used UpToDate. can someone please tell me from where to download cab / installation for WM devices? (I couldn't find it on their website.
Well ,as far as this problem is concerned, IMHO , why don't you all report this problem to Dutty (or any other cook) himself ? I guess they can guide you better than anyone else??

So let me goes straight in to the problem...
I just bought my self a nice elfin...and i really want to put some nice application or games on it...
But i had a problems with some of the instalation...such as :
i'm installing .NET CF 3.5...the process is going smoothly, but when i looking at the program list,,, there's no icon of the program....but when i check it on the remove program list...the program is there....
is it the program that run on the background or what seems to be the problems ?
This also goes with the program rlToday, spb..and etc....
I wonder whats wrong with it...some programs are ok, but some others can not run....
and yes i'm using activesync....
Is there any problem with my ppc ? or is there any required program needed to installing such an application ?
what is compact framework is ?

Before we start, is your HTC Genuine?
Your phone is Windows Mobile 6.0 or 6.1?
.NET CF 3.5 shouldnt show up in your programs as it is something like Adobe Flash, when the program needs it, than it will run.
If you above answers is a yes, you can flash to one of the ROMS here like Onyx 4.7 or SX.

Hate to be a n00b lol, but After installing Mobile 6.5 on my treo pro from build :21896, i realized Messenger was not installed by default
So i downloaded WindowsLive_0409.PPC2005_arm , from the official site , is getting installed..however is just not letting me bypass step 2 on first use
I also tried Windows Live 10.6.31.2600 (duttythroy).cab , but thats not appearing under my apps so no way to run it
and Windows Live 10.6.31.2600 .cab is failing at the installation ...
I need to sync my contacts :S
Any ideas ???

Hi ppl!I just installed ROM version: Gen-Y_D2x_R2 WWE.Izgledao was great until I started to restatrtuje, freezes, etc . .. I really like this rom Because the program scuts weather on main screen,etc...whether anyone could help me what is the problem or tell me is there has a similar rom that works well...Thanx a lot...
If the phone freezes after installing a custom-ROM you should try the following:
1. Install a stock-ROM, than hard-reset ,
2. Install the custom-ROM again, than hard-reset.
If this simple method couldn't solve the problem search in the forums for the MTTY-method.
