Hello all,
is there any way to remove "Sent by HTC" in outlook ??
Since every time I wrote a new email I need to remove it manually!!!
Thanks!
go to Mail>Inbox>Menu>Tools>Options and select your account and hit signatures and uncheck Use Signature with this account...
OPS! Solved myself...
If anyone need it:
HKLM/HTC/Signature/name
Just Empty "name" key!
Go to the email folder in the Start menu, from there choose menu-->options and you'll see a button called Signatures, put in whatever you like.
Thanks PapaDocta, we post at the same time, btw, your solution is much better!
cheers man..

Hi,
How can I delete an Google Mail email from the "Trash" label? I can put them in "Trash" using a long press however there is no option to delete when doing a long press on the mail once in "Trash".
The only way I can delete this is to log onto googlemail web interface and delete the mail from the "Bin" (I'm a UK user).
Cheers.
Anybody???

From the webpage go to your settings and then to "LAB"... try using this "Advanced IMAP Controls".

Thanks for the reply but no joy
Still, on the G1 I can long press in most labels and press delete which sends to Trash however long pressing on an item in the trash does not give any option to delete.
This behaviour is the same with and without that LAB package enabled.
Is there any other solution?
Cheers.
Anybody know if this is possible? It's a real pain having to delete emails from the Trash via the web interface, which is what I'm doing at the moment.
I'm considering that it might be as my GoogleMail account is a UK one and hence the folder is named "Bin" on the web interface. Is this confusion of names what is causing the G1 to not give me the option to delete emails from "Trash"? (Doubt this though, as it *does* put items into "Trash" when I delete on the phone and these can be seen in the "Bin" folder on the web interface).
Has anybody successfully deleted a GoogleMail email from the Trash/Bin using GMail app? If so, how?
Thanks.
Doesn't give me the option to delete things in the trash either.
I guess the only way to do it is from the web interface.
I'm pretty sure it cannot be done through the phone UI.
What is your goal?
I've been using gmail for a number of years now and I've never had a need to manually delete anything from the trash...

Minor OCD I think - When I delete something I want it *gone*... Not a biggie I guess.
Hello out there.
I can't change my email settings anymore. Also I can't create a new mail account. If I click on these buttons nothing happens. If I click longer I can delete the accounts that all.
What can I do? Please help.
Balba
My advice is to create your account with a alternative program, which is for example Profi Mail which I use with a pleasure. It's very easy to operate with it, and it's very practical, here is the version I use:
http://uploading.com/files/41d4fc78/ProfiMail.v.3.20.rar/
Read the text file in archive, just register it with CD-Key that you want: 543435, 634535334, 434232, 5643534, 654453, 5345 or something like that.

try softreset, delete all email settings, softreset and create new email.
Thanks.
For the second tip I can tell you that I deleted the accounts. But if I click to create a new one nothing happens at all. That´s great.
Anyone an idea? Is it possible that there is something wrong in my registry?

Hi hispeedworm,
try checking the following settings:
Go to Start | System | Messaging. Select your Hotmail account and press the Signatures button - i think it would be found here.
Alternatively, open up your email account, click on menu, tools, then options then select signatures
Hope this helps.
Regards.

Solution found, thread closed
Hi all,
I have looked through the threads as far as I can, and I can't find the answer.
I have just hard reset the phone a few days ago, and set up my googlemail account and other apps I use.
The problem is that the emails seem to delete themselves after about 3 days, and I can't see why. I've logged onto googlemail from the PC and the emails are all still there, which is strange.
Is there any way that this can be fixed?
Also, a hint on how to change the default signature would be great.
Many thanks in advance,
Chris.
You looked as far as you could on the forum, but not in your phone's menus
Email tab, More, menu->tools->options, select your account, and fiddle in the settings until you get to "download mail from the last X days", change the 3 to what you want. On the place where you select your account there's a "signatures" button too, for the 2nd part of the question.
Ah, I expected it would be something simple.... now I'm slightly embarassed
Many thanks for that, I honestly thought that the settings would be on the initial mail setup lol.
Chris.
PS. Sig changed to "Sent from my HD2, much better than an iPhone" Will annoy the wife very much

am I missing something? does this vary with ROM versions please?
Ah.. I figured it out immediately after posting my previous msg.. Thanks..
I'm considering switching from the G1 to the HD2 when it comes out this week because I'm ready for a new device. However all of my contacts are stored through google and not on my SIM or in Outlook. Is there any way to sync Google contacts with an HD2/WM6.5, or would I have to find an alternative way should I decide to take the upgrade?
I have not tested it... but in activesync you can set it up to sync with m.google.com. I only used it for calendar so I cannot assure you that it will work...
I use it for calendar, contacts, and email - all works splendidly. makes flashing new roms a breeze or even switching phones.
All i have to remember are my settings for cookies (which you can export), bsbtweaks, and S2U2. everything else is done.
you will have to find a way to backup your SMSes though. I have not imported my SMSes from my E65 to the HD2. But if you can put an SMS into MSMyphone or PIMbackup format you can restore them too.

awesome! I'm going from g1 to hd2 on wednesday!
Bah, first read - then reply. My bad
You can also go to gmail and export your contacts as a CSV file, then just import into outlook, and when you plug you phone into your computer to sync it will download all of your contacts

an app called "vcard expert" from the windows phone marketplace could be worth looking at.
all you need to do is export your contacts from google in a single vcard vcf file and stick the file on your HD2 - vcard expert will do the rest.

Can you give me instructions on how to do this because when I tried, following the directions online, all I got was error: password incorrect. I was working on this for hours and kept inputting my password, so I know that wasn't the problem. Please help!

yes this works with active sync. i went from a htc hero to the HD2 and it even took my Facebook links over with the contacts. sense to sense.

There is a "text messages" option...does this work? If so where are they saved?
do you guys get the lastname first?
text messages is only on com5 builds I think. I never had it on my stock ROM.
Also if you type in [email protected] or whatever your gdomain is then on COM5 the 'domain' box is grayed out. (cooked roms)
you must type m.google.com however on COM2 builds (stock)
what do you mean lastname?
It depends on how the contact sends their name in the email text.
TBH i am curious to see if SMSes work....but Myphone handles that for me well enough.
One thing that does irritate me is that mail sent from the HTC does not appear in sent items....I think that's why they put in the 'reply all'. With reply all it sends back to you, but with just reply I never see the message again until they mail back with it included inline.
That thing about sent emails and the huge battery killer were the two main things that made return this devices, plus WinMo,it does not cut it for me.Beautiful screen though.
Can someone explain how can I export my contacts FROM HD2 to Google Contacts?

Go to AcitveSync on your HD2 and form the Menu choose 'Options' and delete the current server. Mine was 'Microsoft Exchange'.
Then set up a new connection that i the one shown i post #10.
It worked finde for me - thansk BlackElvis79 ;-)
