a large chunk is taken by the rom. stuff like co-pilot and customization crap....... wait for hspl, then the roms will go on a diet and you get much more storage

It only reads out 40MB storage and 52MB RAM. What's with that?

it´s the systemcore. there is no harddrive - so they have to steal our ram... and rom....
So the WM6 installation is approx 96MB? Damn. What happened to the RAM? Do they cache 40MB of that for the OS alone?

Do you mean ram or rom...? Common typo, the letters are like right next to each other... Hehe...
But yeah, I'd definitely agree, that's an Elfin.. I thought mine was when I ordered it, but (for Sharic's information) the standard Elf has 64MB RAM and 128MB ROM, the Elfin has 128MB and 256MB respectively.
yeah, definitely an elfin..before i bought my elf, i am eager to own an elfin..unfortunately, it was hard to find 2nd hand elfin in my country so i have to settle with elf..i like elfin so much, because of its 128 ram and 256 rom..my elf always ran out of storage and program memory since i like to install many programs and do multitasking..
(seems like i'm out of topic..haha..just to express my frustration of not getting an elfin)

Alright, My Bad
Cheers!
hi i was looking at a thred that says hd2 has more memory then 448mb it actually has 576mb i looked at mine at it says in the hardware information i do indeed have 576mb but when i go to the 'about' it says 451mb so do i have 576mb if not is it possible
you already have it. the hardware takes 128 for graphics.
look on a stock rom and it would say 448 in hardware and 320 in storage info
oh great so is that the maximun ram hd2 has or is they more hidden lol is it safe to say the hd2 is prob the most powerfull phone about

you won't use all that ram anyway. its damn near impossible to get the leo to use all the stock ram, let alone the extra.
(dont forget, extra ram doesn't make it run faster. a bigger petrol tank doesn't make a car go faster, so you aren't missing out on anything)
lol ok great thanks supprised htc didnt just give people the extra ram in the stock roms thanks for you help

Is there a way to use ext2/ext3 sd partition as data because most nand roms doesn't leave us mush room for new apps. Does anyone know?

Agreed, I'm using the Cyanogen NAND and have 657mb free after installing a grip of ****. If you need to used apps2sd hit menu>settings>applications>manage applications> when you click an app it will give you an option to move it to SD if you desire.

Yes but you must have the 1024 mb version, i only have 90 mb left after instalation.

that's because you have TMOUS 1024 LEO, 512 mb LEOs are left with less than 60 mb most of the time.

well you are just useless for thread
need help to force the applications to install on sd and when I'm going to move to SD app2sd block
I have found some information in this site:
http://code.google.com/p/android-roms/wiki/A2SD
but i don't know if it can be applied to hd2 android nand.
EDIT..................
really?
take a joke man.
maybe its silly american humor or sarcasm.
no need for name calling.
plus you're using some american pricks build
Can we just stick to the topic please...
Of course this is less of a problem for those with 1024 devices but will be a huge one for those with 512MB.
I use a HTC Desire (which has 'similar' memory specs to the HD2) and trust me a proper implementation of A2SD is/will be required.
From IRC logs:
Curious_ MN_ app2sd works fine
Curious_ i moved app2sd app to sd card
MN_ which rom?
Curious_ cotulla's
Curious_ worked out of box
Maybe this person is asking why some apps don't move to sd , I can move only some small apps to sd for ex I have NFS SHIFT witch I can;t move to sd To bad I hove somebody finds a way moving this sort of apps to sd.
apps you moved via app2sd are still leaving data.. not much but enough for being a problem for hd2 512mb users like me...
A2SD+ would be a perfect solution. mounting another partition to extend the intern ram..

Sorry for bumping this up but...
I swear that I had programs that could be moved on a Froyo version on Milestone but now can't be moved on GB HD2 NAND. Am I missing something here?
i've putted android on nand and hardware informormation tell me that i've got 431 mb of ram
some where i've read that with android on nand the htc hd2 unlock the 576 mb of ram it's true? i made an error installing android?
no, its simply not available yet, maybe in the future... with nand it is possible
ok thanks so it's normal that i have the 440 mb of ram?

well... you're sure its 440mb? normally android builds have around 412 mb
yes i've got 412 mb of ram i made a mistake because memory booster told me: total ram 432706112 bite
I think we are using full ram already, just as we were with sd android builds. Just some of the ram is for video and system, so its not user accessible.

mhh not sure about that, because hardware info would say 576mb ram then, like on every other android phone. you will see there full ram also, and not only the space which is reserved for programs
edit:
you dont have access to full ram in winmo also, you see only the space which is accessible for your apps and stuff. but when you look at hardware info it will show you, that your phone has 576mb ram. thats what i mean.
I think there was a thread explaining it somewhere, but I'm pretty sure that we're not getting anymore RAM than we already have.

I thought some later winmo ROMS unlocked some missing RAM on Euro models, if so this could be done in Android to? - damn our inferior Euro models !!!
hope some brother can hack full ram on HTC eur, my phone show the total of Ram is 412 MB not 576 mb>> sad... if it possible that wonderful!!!
