Any Ideas or Suggestions???

OK I have just got myself and XDA Mini. Im not that clued up on it but so far I have done a Hard Reset and Unistalled all the O2 Software and It runs great! Has anyone got any suggestions as to what else I should do to it to get it all up to date etc..
Any Useful Software etc??
Unlock Software etc..
Also am interested in a WIFI Network Detector if there is such a thing?
Any Latest ROMS??

Try the SPB softwares, they all are good. Please dont try for any WIFI Network Detector as I have already lost one of my PDA, because those software really makes the Radio device weak, even you will get only 1 or 2 signal bars for your service.

What do you mean "makes the radio device weak" do you think that the software alters the hardware??? Interesting, the fact is I find the wifi very weak and I used to have wifgraph and then wififofum...

As far as I know, there is only one Radio hardware in PDAs and both the phone itself and the WiFi uses the same radio hardware. I have personally experienced with my previous XDA-IIi when I was using the software called "Hitchhiker"( http://www.kasuei.com/hitchhiker/ ), it is no doubt a nice software, but after to use this software for nearly 2 months, people started to complain me about my voice-drop during the conversation even if I am on the high street, I have also realised that my signals are showing just 1 bar inside the house and sometime the XDA wakes-up automatically to search for the signals, and that was the horrible problem specially 4-5 time during the night. Finally I had to change the device, now I am using the same XDA-IIi model but a new device, also using WiFi at home daily to update my Weather, sync Yahoo and to update SPB Insight and thats it, I am not going to use these sucking softwares ever again because I have already had my lesson.
Writing that much just for a advice, rest is upto you.

TIP: If you want to try how many radios your device have, then switch-on the flight mode and then switch-on the WiFi and see the message "In order to use the WiFi your device has to be in the non-flight mode" something like that, dont actually remember the actual message wordings.

Wifi will not activate

After flashing with a new ROM etc..
When I go into communications, and tap on wifi.....it turns on for a sec and then turns back off. Any suggestions?
Here is what I have done so far.....
Started with: Radio v. 1.39.00, ROM V. 2.13.656.2, Bootloader 1.2
Went to bootloader 2.40(via Hard-SPL-MF.exe), Scrosler's Titan ROM 3.26 w/touchflow. and then Radio 3.42.30.

Try the hardware switch on the side of the unit. The software switch was never able to work under most ROMs that I have ever used.

I toggled that (WiFi switch), and it does the same thing for me.

Should I try another ROM or radio version? I don't want to do a bunch of flashing.......anyone know a good firmware version (and radio v.) with everything working and ready to go in terms of functionality? I don't mind putting all the carrier info in etc, just want all the radios to work afterwards (wifi, eV(cellular data), cell, bluetooth, IR)

Never heard of the problem. I say reflash because something happened.

Changed the battery power option under wireless to best performance.....everything works now

That's odd behavior. Post if it happens again.

When I use the ppckitchen my wifi refueses to work. I'm actually about to reflash it right now to DCD to see if it fixes it

The Switch seems to be malfunctioning...WHen I turn it off, it turns on the software for a second, then shuts off. WHen I turn it in the same thing happens. Really weird.
THis happened BOTH TIMES i reloaded the ROM.

im using the Kaiser Comm Manager(10 Buttons), and on it it always appears that the wifi is turned off, but functions fine with the switch

i have the exact same problem since a couple of month and i cant seem to find a fix for that. I dont even know if the problem is software on hardware related.
i have used dcd 3.2.6 and 4.1.2
and im currently running ryan 2.0 i think wm6.1
maybe i should try wm 6.5
the only thing i know is that i would REALLY like my wifi to work :'(

i am using the ryan 2.0 wm6.1 and my wifi does not work either, didnt work in wm6.5 and no available memory in 6.5 either so save your time.
my phone was a mix of 2 broken moguls, the only thing i dont have working is vibrate and wifi

DO you see a MAC address in the WLAN advanced settings?
If not, you just need to write a new MAC address and your WIFI will work, or so I have heard.
so... how do we enter in a MAC address if it is missing?

[Q] Can't activate Wifi.

It make some week i had problem to activate wifi on my HD. On comunication manager, it try some second to activate it, but at the end it still desactivated.
I try to flash rom (some french rom, some english rom, wm6.5, wm6.1...). I try also a lot of radio rom (1.14,1.13,1.12,1.09) and hard reset, but it still doesn't work.
I installed Wifi Monster wich tell me that no Compatible Wifi adapter is found when it try to launch wifi.
If i find no solution i can try to send it to waranty (which mean i'll need to put off all cooked stuff..), but as i go to travel next week, i'd like to find a solution for don't have to use expensive data connexion.
Is someone have one brillant idea ?

Have you tried using wm wifi router or HTC wifi router?

thank for your answer.
I try both solution without result. On wm wifi routeur, on first startup, it said wifi was not found and ask me to select an interface. I had choice between TNETTW12511 and WWAN1. I try both, but don't work. I start connection sharing but don't see asociated acces point. (wifi stat is at 0db).
Same problem with the other softs...

no other idea ?
I use SD card flash method with olinex SPL 1.56. Is it possible the problem come to that ?

Sounds like the wifi chip is dead - lots of people have reported the same thing happening, and the only option is to send it back to HTC for a repair. We had it happen to one of ours - never found out what caused it, but the camera died at the same time.
The people who've had repairs and looked inside say the boards have been replaced, so it's not just a flashing/firmware issue. Some suggest the design is bad and the antennas are just too close to the chipset, but of course HTC won't comment on that idea.

I'll send it to htc when i came back and i'll use data til that, but it will cost a lot ...

[Q] Update Radio for Rogers' Magic?

Hey guys,
Is there a way I could seamlessly update my radio to one that was made for the Magic? I'm currently using one that was done for Dream and I have lots of problems with it like radio will get into a state where I could not call/sms and the only fix to that is a reboot or airplane on/off.
I've heard other people complaining about this on the forums but don't know what is the conclusion. I know the latest Radio that Rogers' Magic got (famous post 911) has some "protection" in it that blocks rooting so that is why we have to use the Dream one...RADIO-3.22.26.17
Was just wondering if someone had a solution to that!

There is a radio switcher tool in the development section.
Worth noting though, is that switching radio will kill your ability to use the CM6 version that is fully functional.

So how is that going to help? Do you know of a better radio that I could try with my setup?

If you don't want to lose your data sign the waiver flash the "old" radio included with the radio switcher app and you still be ale to rock a fully functional CM6.
Make sure you're actually having problems with SMS and calls and it's not jsut a reception issue.
I'm running my HTC Magic with the Dream Radio and everything seems great to me.

But is the "old radio" included with the radio switcher app better than the one I have right now?
I'm tempted to sign that waiver and install the newest written exactly for my phone if it's possible (the one that I had before rooting my phone was OK but that would not work with a rooted phone I guess...the so called "post-911").
What I did last nigh was to re-flash just my radio again, maybe something went wrong last tine and I'll if I still get those states when my phone is saying it's connected to the GSM/3G carrier but no calling/sms would work - get's fixed with reboot or airplane mode on/off.

[Q] Help With xv6900 Vogue

I am new to phone flashing, but after all my reading I am so confused! That I have to ask for help. I want to run a Vogue on Reachout wireless it has to be CDMA so Vogue will work I do not think there is a Data Plan through them so I need GPS which Upgrade WORKS? And going to try Wifi SPEC TEC Mini SD Wifi card SDIO WLAN card if I can make it work. I am going through Interferon treatments and am very broke or would pay for service, Any Help would be Appreciated.

You'll definitely need to update your radio for GPS to work. While at it, might as well upgrade your ROM. Here's a good starting point:

Progress With GPS
Well I managed to upgrade NFSFAN's WM6.5 1.00 FINAL ROM ! After reading and figuring out the steps, I must of read for a week . Radio now at 3.37.10 and GPS is working but not locking very fast at all! But will lock. Any way to better the performance a little

perhaps by using QuickGPS could accelerate the GPS work
