Found a few for the pc, but am looking for one that can be installed on the hero.
Cheers.
Does anyone know if tis is possible at all.
yes, but not with an app as far as I know, e-mail the link of the picture to yourself. Open the email, follow the link in the browser and that way you can select and save the picture.
Note: bumping in 24 hours is mostly not done, actually looking at the time you posted it I don't find it surprising none have posted a response in 11 hours (during sleeping time ;-))
I'm sure i came across an app which did this the other week, so it is possible. I remember the description about being being able to save albums for offline viewing.
If i come across it again ill let you know the name.
you can download a programme called Bloo from the market
just download them from the browser it works 100%

Ok so before when viewing photos in mediascape I learned that you could tap the mail icon and there would be an option to upload to my picasa web album. Well suddenly it is no longer available?? The only thing that ive done to change anything on my phone since this took place is to install Helixlauncher, which I don't think would screw with that.
Any thoughts??

In order to basically get back to where you started (option to upload picasa web album) you'll need to follow some basic steps....
1. Uninstall Helixlaucher
2. Stop asking silly questions
3. Wouldn't you think that if everything was as you wanted it before you installed an app, things went "wrong" after installation of said app, that it only stands to reason if you uninstall that very same app, you'll be at square one again?
4. Now THIS was a problem. (Just read my friend. Just read)
Which was solved with a little bit of know how!
Hi Guys
Long time reader of these forums and have used the guides provided here numerous times. This is my first time post and it's a bit of a noob question but after looking around the forums, I haven't been able to provide a concrete answer.
I remember reading about Facebook integration with Android 2.0+ but could someone clarify how vanilla android interacts with Facebook? I am a huge fan of HTC Sense being able to pull down my friends info into my contacts. Also is there a way by which I can back up all my apps and contacts so that when I've flashed a new ROM I can just restore the data?
Again I apologise for the basic questions, but I couldn't seem to find any solid answer through my searches and I'm itching to put 2.2 on my legend.
Much appreciated
Linking Facebook and Google-Contacts works in 2.* as far as the names are the same. Ihaven't found a function like in sense where you can directly point to a specific FB-contact and link it to a google or phone-contact as you want. Regarding your second question, your contacts will be saved @google if you use a googleaccount, for backing up your settings and programs go with TitaniumBackup but your handset has to be rooted for this.
Thanks ^_^ I realised what I'd asked about the contacts only after I'd posted it >.< but all the same thanks for the info
Just btw, which fb app are you using (this goes to everyone) ?
Not a single one I tried so far was good enough.
I have the official fb for android but it doesn't display message whole threads when they are too long and when i click on a notification, it opens up in the browser.
Then i tried fb browser, but that one can't open youtube vids. It tries to open them itself instead of opening them in the yt app, but I'm unable to click on the play button.
the rest is either a copy of these 2, or comletely useless.

I just stick with the default android one...the lesser of the evils out there. But I agree with you in that the apps aren't as good as they could be. Who knows, maybe Facebook will announce some android related news at their mobile event today
I'm using the official one. There is an update, just installed it today. There is now finaly places and when clicking in the notification, no more webbrowser with touch.facebook.com is opened.
When browsing the marketplace, installing an app and then going back my scrolled position in the marketplace is lost. This is very frstrating and makes browsing and installing from the marketplace a pain.
Am I missing something?
Cheers, John
Same here. Another issue: I can search and find apps to install (for instance "Root Explorer" that I wanted to use to replace wpa_supplicant) but when I click the link to view the details and install it, I get a dialog that says the detailed view can't be found. If I click OK, it goes back to the search results. If I instead click back, I can read the detailed view, but clicking "Install" results in it telling me the application can't be found. Looks like Google is blocking the app.
+1 same problem here! (Using the tablet outdoors and I must say the feeling is great but....the screen is awful!!!! I can see my every detail reflected in the screen ...lol)
By the way is there no way to comment or rate an app from the market app???
Is there perhaps a way of installing the gingerbread marketplace app?

I've been having the same problem today. Lots of Apps in the market seem to be giving this response but if you try and see the details of and install a featured app then there's no problem. I think the Android Market may be having a few issues today. Try using the Android Market website instead, worked for me.

I'll give that a go, thanks
yeah I noticed the same thing
I would also like to know where to rate and comment on apps
I hate it loses position on back. I like to browse through the app list to what is available for us honeycomb users but the fact that it goes back to the start makes this a pain in the *ss.
i agree, this is horrible, especially when browsing a long list. The marketplace is pretty average all round really.
Would it be too much to ask for a dedicated tablet section?
Just chiming in agreeing that this is a real pita.
Another +1 for the position loss on back being a pain in the ass, especially if you've just scrolled through 400 or so apps only to have to scroll through them again.
+1 here as well. I'd also love to see a section in the market just for the newest apps. I still can't figure out how to comment or rate anything there either. Some of the stuff I have tried and had to just uninstall I would love to be able to comment on. Any suggestions?
I use the online site
Regarding rating apps, here's what I've found:
Menu + Purchase History
Click the name - pick to open with browser
Rate it from the browser.
Yeah, it sucks. Honeycomb fail.
+1 on losing position in the marketplace when going back to it from an app page - very frustrating. I've also had numerous occasions when an app wouldn't properly download or install - the animated bar would continue but no notifications would show up and/or the install would fail leading to the animated bar on the app page continuing to animate but no progress. Going back then finding the app again then going into the app page and clicking install again seems to be the only way to kick start it.
Hey Guys
Woke up this morning to an email from Google saying my invite for Google Music beta has been accepted! In the process of uploading all my tracks now..
Thing is... I'm in New Zealand. I did request an invite with a proxy browser but I never expected to actually get an invite as it's currently closed to US only right?
Unless they've broadened their reach in response to iCloud, otherwise the proxy was all I needed...
I should note that I have a Google voice account by the same means (proxy browser), maybe that helped trick them.
Either way I thought I'd post to see if anyone else has gotten access besides our American ...friends.
So far it works great, but all my album art is the same image, and it's taking a very long time to upload, also the upload program has skipped 4000 songs due to an error.....
And what happens if I change the filename or meta data of a song, does it upload it again as another song? I'd also really love the ability to delete a song from my harddrive if I delete it from the cloud, as I have a lot of music that I haven't yet decided if its worthy to keep or not.
This is really great because I have unlimited 3G access with my employee plan @ vodafone
I got the invite too this morning and I have access to google music without a proxy. I'm in Romania. Still, because of this, I can't download the music app from the market.
Try this m8...
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.notenking.mf
Or rather this one: https://market.android.com/details?id=ch.racic.android.marketenabler
I got mine last night too. But I am beginning to question how much I'll use it as I don't have an unlimited download plan...oh well, it's always nice to have
I did the same thing from the UK, got an invite a few days ago, have uploaded some music but not quite sure yet on their policy of making sure it's all legally acquired....
Streaming seems to work well though
The client works fine in linux using wine 1.3.
Gosh...... after uploading 400 songs I realised they all had the same lame album art image because of a stupid JPG in a root folder.... I've now spent the better half of my day off trying to get album art for all my songs @[email protected]". Discovered the hard way it's best to just put all ur music into album folders and update with WMP...
I got one too. And I am from China.

Just to clarify, you guys all used a proxy server to do this, right? I'm going to try this at home tonight. I don't know how to set up a proxy/VPN so if someone can kindly post a link to a very simple instruction it would be great. Otherwise I can do a Google Search I guess. Thanks!
And I'm from Canada. Yesterday the new Music app update shows up on the Android Market. I didn't use market enabler or anything. It just showed up. I updated and this new music app replaced the stock one.
Just requested an invitation via VPN, hope I get it
How long it take to response after the request send? I requested 2 weeks ago, but no response from google yet. i m from Malaysia, i used proxy to request.
I requested about 2 weeks ago using hidemyass and haven't heard anything either, so you're not alone.
According to Paul @ MoDaCo you can speed things up by editing your build.prop so it looks like you're using a 3.0.1 Xoom.

I used the HideMyAss extension to the Chrome browser (probably also available for FF) to request an invite. I'm based in Ireland and got an invite after a couple of weeks after signing up. Started uploading my 5000+ songs yesterday and so far about 650 are done. The upload speed on my internet connection is rather slow.
Hidemyass.com worked for me I think, if that fails and you need software I recommend Hotspot shield.
Here's my blog for initial experience, if you're wanting to make sure your music collection is tidy before committing it to the Cloud, check out http://jamesyb0i.blogspot.com/2011/06/album-where-art-thou.html
Thanks! I also came across hidemyass.com after some Googling but wasn't sure how reliable it is. Since a couple of you have tried it, I think it should be safe

Doesn't really matter how reliable it is, just that it thinks you're in the US
I got the invitation several days ago. I only use proxy to request the invitation. After I agreed the term and conditions, I can access my music account without any proxy.
Same goes to my gv too

hmm..... I've uploaded about 4k songs so far but now the program just keeps crashing

no I mean, logging in with my username and password through a proxy. Is it possible for the proxy to eavesdrop? But either way, I used it to request an invite
Got my invite today, it's a great service... shame about the upload time mind.
Found some solution online but couldn't try them cause I haven't received my N7 yet to try them out:
GameShare
DataSync
GameOn
Also is there an app that sync where you stopped at your timeline? that would be great.
Can you share your experience if you tried them? if not try and tell your experience to the Android realm : )
Hands down datasync. Well to be fair I haven't tried the other two, but that's because I never had to. Datasync works flawlessly even when it first got released for me. I used that to transfer some save data from a few apps today when I got my N7. Give them all a try but definitely start with DataSync.
Thank You!
What about twitter? is there any twitter app with timeline position sync.
the only solution I've found is using TweetMarker. which am trying when N7 arrives

Tweetmarker works quite well. The only two Twitter apps that I know of that use it are Plume and Tweetlanes. Tweetlanes isn't officially supported on tablets though, but the developer makes the apk availabale here: https://plus.google.com/104649936579980037256/posts/53SL5vZ3kZL
Boid is meant to add Tweetmarker support, but their development of key features isn't exactly quick so I wouldn't hold out.
