All:
I have been using Gyrator 2. So far so good. But if the keyboard doesn't increase in size when you rotate the screen I don't see a huge advantage other than reading text or email on wider screen.
With the iPhone, yes I said the bad word, when you rotate the screen your keyboard changes making it easier to type on. That's what I'm really looking for. Something that will change the keyboard to a more finger friendly keyboard when rotated to landscape. Anything out there that can do that?
Also, any way to shrink those huge black bars when you rotate the screen at the top and bottom? I was noticing the top title bar (black bar 1) and the bottom soft menu bar (black bar 2) are HUGE in landscape mode and take up way too much real estate. It would be nice if those screen disolved and only appeared if you tapped the header/footer in a screen. I hope that made sense. Anythign apps than can do that? Or am I wishing on star.
Make sure you're using the default HTC keyboard, not the WM original one. The HTC keyboard (called full QWERTY in the input picker) does change and fill the entire screen widthwise when the screen is rotated.
shueflie, I am. And you're right. It does fit the entire screen but for some reason it sure doesn't seem bigger. Maybe it's just me. I guess it has to be getting bigger...but for some reason it still seems like too many keys squeezed in.
Are there any replacement keyboards, say something like a standard letter only keyboard, and then you press something for numbers only, and then something for special characters only? My fingers are too big.
Try the phone keypad in portrait mode (either with or without T9) and see if that suits you better. There are other keyboards available but I haven't tired any of them
Will give it a shot. If you can direct me to a link with more keyboards I'd appreciate it, in the meantime I'll use the almighty search and see what I can dig up.

Plenty of keyboards out there. Do a quick search in Themes, Applications and Software and you'll find what your looking for!!!
EDIT:
May also want to check Wiki to ensure keyboard software works ok, Programs/Utilites & Games working on the Touch HD (1 - M) & Programs/Utilites working on the Touch HD (N - Z)
Wow an entire wiki, that's what I'm talkin' about. Thanks!

Not all software is shown on these lists. Best option is to do a search for keyboard in Themes, Applications and Software.
If your unsure about anything, refer to this and it should answer most questions you have!
Hey all
I (like others) have been experiencing problems when typing on the HTC HD2, keys being selected when I haven't pressed them, random words appearing and backspace going mental.
Anyway this morning I decided I want to lock my phone in landscape mode so I downloaded an application called "change screen" version 2.78 (June 17 '09)
(sorry I can't post the URL as I'm a new member)
Google this "change screen 2.78" and hit the Xda-developers link at the top of the results.
I selected the following options within the app:
Enable = Yes
Run on startup = yes
Ticked the last box only, the one with the phone laying in landscape (physical buttons to the left hand side) Then saved my settings.
The next step I took was to type out an e-mail in landscape mode.
Instantly the keys became more responsive and accurate! Result!
However what is odd, when you press a button the highlighted character is displayed, but upside down and on the opposite side of the screen. (please note, this is only the preview letter). It doesn't really bother me, I just keep an eye on the key I'm pressing and that seems to work.
I thought I would share this with you in-case you are having the same problem as I had, I'd be interested to know if this helps your typing.
BsB Tweaks
What really helped me was the option in BsB Tweaks
Screen Sensitivity > Decrease Sensitivity > Option On
Yeah, I did try that and it helped a bit. Maybe I have a buggered phone...
Thanks for sharing zerosimms
I thought creating this thread will help a few people who are new to the note and doesn't know it's S Pen hidden functions. Below is the list of what I know it could do so far. Please let me know if you are aware of any other functions and I will add it to this post. Thanks.
1. Hold down S Pen button and tap on any screen to take a screen shot.
2. While in browser, hold down S Pen button and swipe left to go back to previous page. While in any app, the same action is equivalent to the "back" button.
3. While pressing the S Pen button, drag the S Pen down to open a list of options available on the current screen.
4. Hold down S Pen button and double tap on any screen to pull up S Note mini app.
these tips already mentioned in the user manual. So I copy here:
- Back: While pressing the S Pen button, drag the S Pen to the left to return to the previous screen.
- Menu: While pressing the S Pen button, drag the S Pen down to open a list of options available on the current screen.
- Screen capture: While pressing the S Pen button, tap and hold the screen to capture a screenshot. After capturing a screenshot, you can draw on it, write on it, or crop it. The edited image will be saved in My Files → sdcard → Pictures → Screenshots.
- Quick note: While pressing the S Pen button, double-tap the screen to launch the Quick note function.
I typically don't read user manuals.. I like them all wrapped up in plastic and new and what not.. I hope I'm not the few who are doing this.

OP, you had already created a thread for this!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1897318
Why create duplicate threads?

Because that was in a Q&A forum. The general section is where people usually looks for tips not Q&A. Sorry if this have cause you any inconvenience.

Obviously forum moderators to provide guideline on this.
My preference is that, not every question that gets answered in Q&A thread, should be posted again in general forum as duplicate thread only to share the answer again. We all should use the search function more, and reduce clutter and keep conversation in a single thread.
Or maybe you can close the orginal thread in Q&A forum, and point to this new thread from there in closing comments?
Just my 2 cents.
obiviously, this thread is relevant and had helped a few people. Like I say, people do not look for tips in Q&A forum. I agree that we all should use the search function, however, a lot of people tends to not use it. I just put this thread in it's relevant section so it would be more widely available for more people who are new and looking for tips for our great device.
closing browser via S Pen

What you mentioned is pretty much like #2. I'll add to OP that it'll allow you to go back.

Hello all
When I press the spen button it opens action memo instead of air command.
Can anyone help ??
(Would have posted in vanilla's thread, but I don't have permission to do so)
I have played with two CM7 ROMs.. the one that's been floating around for a while, and now vanillaLVL's.
In both, you can see the on-screen keyboard just below the list of suggested words.
To recreate
- Open Messaging and create a new SMS message
- Tap in the message box
- You'll see the OSK just below the suggestions. More precisely, you can see the bottom row of buttons.. like the ?123 and the Tab arrow
This isn't a big deal, just a little annoying. Is there a fix out there for this?
YES! Exactly! Somebody help with this problem. Personally, I'm annoyed when the keyboard comes out from the bottom of the screen.
Sorry for my english.

I have installed Swiftkey Flow and that bug isn-t there anymore, however, the problem now is that, whenever i want to use the physical keyboard, Swiftkey also appears taking more than half of the screen size :\
Would like to know if there-s a fix for this so Android keyboard doesn't appear when in portrait mode.

Put 2 (or more) fingers on the screen of your Note 3 in a horizontal line in landscape mode. You can also use Portrait mode with 2 fingers.
Move the fingers slightly about, trying to have both (all) in a straight horizontal line.
After only a bit of trying one (or more) detected fingers should disappear (become undetected) or ghost touch detections should appear.
Why open a new topic for this?
Edit: since I don't get answered here (or by pm for that matter) I filed a complaint. Could you please ask in future if I don't mind you copying half my topic to start a new one? I have no issues with customers having a better say in a more detailed poll / Samsung having better material to diagnose this defect with. I even would say "sure", if you had asked.
