I have a rooted mytouch 3g that I am trying to get my xbox to recognize through the USB on the xbox. The phone recognizes the USB and offers to Mount. The X-box does nothing. Even in the dashboard where you would normaly play music from a phone it doesnt show the USB as being connected. What do I need to make this work?????
Mytouch 3g
rooted
ROM: CyanogenMod-4.2.8
wait im confused... u want to install drivers on an xbox 360?
haha no......
I want to hook mytouch to the xbox 360 and play my music.
Simply put you cant.
The xbox is supose to see your mem card as a mass storage device, but M$ is kinda strict about what can be showed as a Mass Storage Device on the xbox.
I did the same thing to my xbox and no luck. I tried it again with my PS3 and worked perfectly. I was even able to get my video to play on the PS3 and even copy the music/mp3 to the system.
It a problem on M$ end.

Has anybody tried to do get their X1 talking to a PS3? After all Sony appears in both products names
Well, I was fiddling today and when the phone is in "ActiveSync" mode, the PS3 just says "Unrecognized device" LOL! Windows talking to a PS3, I guess had my hopes set high!
However when you put the phone into "Disk Drive" mode, the PS3 picks up the 8 gig memory card in my phone. From there I could browse / copy all the movies / music / pictures that are on the card with ease straight from the PS3 menu. What's even better is if you have set your phone to save your pictures on your card, the PS3 sees those pictures and lets you browse and copy them to the PS3 hard drive. Nice!
The cable that's supplied with the PS3 for charging of the wireless controllers, works with the phone. So the phone charges off the PS3, and the same cable works on my PC in "ActiveSync" mode. Bonus!
I haven't had time to fiddle with the bluetooth options of the X1 / PS3. I doubt I will be able to get anything out of that anyway!
BT doesn't work.
With ps3 works only HID device and headset.
Lol
As far as the PS3 is concerned, the Xperia is not a brother, infact it's an adopted, outcast, half cousin. They Won't communicate in any meaningful way.
youll need something like the new w995 from sonyericsson which has ps3 support etc
Heh, no way! I am not letting go of my X1 : )
You can do the same things with the Xbox 360 and the 'Disk Drive' mode, also charges from the 360 using the PS3 cable!
just wondering.... how to set X1 to "disc mode"?
where do i go for the settings?
haha
I think they some kind of cousins.
there is one panel in xperia which reminds me of the playstation xmb.
the become closer when you start the usb mode of xperia, then you can your media from your card ^^

Click to collapse
Heya
The setting you are looking for is in Start -> Settings -> Connections (tab) -> USB to PC
You will get a screen there that will let you chose between the two connection modes. Be advised however that when in "Disk Drive" mode you will only be able to browse the files on your memory card, and not your phone.
well i connected my X1i to my PS3 in disk drive, and my X1i said it would be recharged but it didin't, so be careful, only connect your X1i to transfer some files to the PS3, anything else isn't going to work out
Hi guys,
I had this great idea this week when I was hanging out with my brother. I wanted to listen to some music I had on my phone so I plugged it into the XBox. I set the phone with nueUSB as a removable device but the XBOX does not see it as anything. From what I understand the XBox only sees specific types of devices.
The idea is why not upgrade nueUSB to allow to set your phone as a removable device that XBox can see to play music, pictures, etc.
I am not very good at coding or anyting but I was wondering if anyone would be interested.
im not sure what phone you're using, but I plug my phone into my xbox for music/video. I'm using an Elfin with Onyx on it. I haven't installed anything fancy either.
I am running an XV6800 Titan with DCD 3.2.6 Reloaded 1.3.4 on it.
My Diamond used to work on my Xbox 360 'out of the box' but it doesn't since I upgraded my ROM to 2.03.
There was a fix on the Diamond forum but it didn't work for me.
On my Touch Pro I get prompted on how I want to connect when I plug in using a USB cable. And it has worked on my buddys XBox, watched a full episode of House that way.
The setting is under Settings->Connections->USB to PC, or at least it should be for the Diamond and Touch Pro.
The HTC app that allows this might have been ported to other phones, if not there is a utility out there that will let you "map" your microSD card as a Removable Drive in Windows. Its called WM5torage, it has worked on my 8525 with WM6.
hi please help with my touch diamond. used to connect fine on to my xbox 360 now it wont. my xbox does not see the internal storage please help
its not possible u have to format your hd to apple's format
but then windows wont be able to see it anymore
I can just plug it in and select disk mode on my phone, plays my .MP3 music
maybe you set your phone to always do sync instead of asking you to decide
nope i think its the new htc rom...i used to connect just fine and it does ask me if i wanna sync or connect my internal storage. my xbox just does not see it. maybe i need to format my internal storage of the diamond but i am not looking forward to installing everything...so sad really.llove my xbox love my diamond too.anyway thanks for help.....looks like there isnt much i can do. only option is to hard reset
1. is it possible to connect your phone (like usb mass storage) to your computer via wi-fi through my network? if so, how? i can sort of get streaming to work through allshare and windows media player but i can not move files , only stream.
2. i have not used samsung media hub yet because i dont want to sit there and watch a movie on a 4" screen. so my question here is , if you rent a movie on the media hub, can it be played on a computer either by usb or streaming?
to help answer these questions, heres my set up:
phone: sprint ( usa) samsung epic. no mods have been done to my phone, everything is factory.
PC: quadcore cpu , geforce gtx 275, 4gb ram, running windows 7 64bit. my pc is hooked up to a westinghouse 47" 1080p monitor.
Search for "xda samba android" in google. Should be like the first link.
I use Websharing and WiFi File Explorer. Look them up.
those apps you mentioned work great for photos ive taken or videos ive recorded, however it does not work with media hub. i tried streaming and it will not find the movie on my device , i hooked my phone up directly to my pc and the movie file is not supported by windows. so im still looking for a way to watch media hub files on my computer. any suggestions?
Nope..Media Hub has the DRM :/...and All share is not compatible..so that ends that.
Is there any way to use the full size USB port to copy files from an android phone or digital camera to the tablet? I've plugged in my G2 with CM7 and put it into mass storage mode but I don't seem to be able to access files on the phone through Astro.
I know the port can charge my phone and if you format a jump drive or external hard drive in FAT32 it will connect to that but its frustrating that the one think I would realistically use it for most often doesn't work.
Buddy of mine plugged his portable external drive to it that was full of movies to watch. And the Media Player found them all. Make great for trips if you wanna watch movies and such on it.
I'd love to eventually plug my HP TV tuner in there...
