Download pictures from facebook Albums - HD2 General

Hi. I love my HD2. And after customizing it with some of the tweaks found on this forum this phone is near perfect!
I was wondering if there's a tweak or program that makes it possible to download images straight from the HTC Sense facebook album viewer. That way you can easily download images and choose what profile picture your contact has. [as well as download cool pictures to add to your own albums]
Some of my contacts currently use silly images as their profile picture, SPB shell 3.x let you chose what Facebook picture to use. I was hopeing HTC sense would let me do the same.

( I know I can use the Internetbrowser to download pictures, But a program would be so much easier )

HTC Album as default pic viewer?

I got the HTC album working on my mogul and tried changing the HKLM/software/htc/htcalbum default viewer to dword 1 and no go.
I am tresting this from the camera and the cube. any help would be great thanks
Anyone???
I have the same issue here.
This has been asked before, and I'm fairly certain the answer was it couldn't be done since htc album is just an application, and the defauly picture album veiwer is required by the system for certain things. The camera app does have a link which calls "picture album" and not "htc album", but no registry edit AFAIK will change the fact that it links directly to a .exe. What you can do is change the camera app (the touch camera app calls htc album, but not the titan one), but since the touch is sans flash, you'd lose the camera flash in the app.
You could also do some fancy tricks like rename htc album and remove the default pic viewer, but the OS uses the default viewer for certain things (like when adding a pic to a composed email, etc), so you'd "break" certain things by doing this.

.NETCF 3.5 error
When I try and run the software, it tells me that I need a newer version of .NETCF. I have installed 3.5 successfully on my phone and it is working fine with other .NetCF3.5 dependant programs.
I have a WM6 GSmart i300.
hi Lynehammike

Actually, there's two ways around that. WinAmp Mobile works very well (and is free) and does most everything Orb does. Or, if you want to spend $30, Kinoma (which actually uses Orb) is probably the best multimedia program I've used on WM.
Anytime I try to upload it says unexpected error and closes....? Using an AT&T Tilt... On another note the GUI looks awesome icons and everything. I normally change the icons in the start menu the one is the only one that I haven't changed it looks pretty smooth...
Hi Alkhal
Icon thanks to wapvirus . Right down to your problem.
Are you using Email upload or direct Upload?
Email has a draw back that you have to send and receive your email before it shows up in the album.
I can build you a special version to help debug this issue, if you are willing to test it for me?
I guess if you are the only one with problems, the weeks effort was worth it.

viewing pictures in different albums folder

I have created different folders to store different pictures. But on this X1, when want to browse the pictures, it will show all of them in one place. It is not like the Touch HD, I get to choose from my storage card and select the folder name for my pictures. Does anyone know the trick ?

I'm having exactly the same issue and and looking for a solution.
quick solution : use another viewer software, or the default windows viewer.
Is there another viewer software, wich running without bugs or lagging?
It should offer the sliding switch function like the iphone or the standard viewer from X1. I mean the picture switch without pressing a button - just sliding with your finger over the display..
Thanksss
Resco photo viewer is the best one out there, not sure if its touch friendly though

Disappointed by Footprints

I tried to get into geotagging my pictures and I have to say that I'm very disappointed by the Footprints software.
What's with the resolution of the pictures taken by Footprints? There are only thumbnails in the AppData/HTC/HTCFootprints/thumbnails folder. Why doesn't the software take the pictures at full resolution like the camera? Or are they stored elsewhere? This was the only place where I could find pictures.
I copied them to my PC only to see that the pictures don't contain any GPS info. Apparently they are only saved in the Footprints database and not in the pictures themselves (EXIF...)! That is completely useless!
Is there a way to use the normal camera to add geotagging?
Sure, there is a "GPS Photo" mode in camera settings. Just hit the camera icon and chose the propper mode.
hmm u can open ur camera
click the middle icon for capture mode and click next
there a mode call GPS photo..
maybe that will help u
Oh, thanks, that explains a lot.
Nevertheless I agree with the author, this is stupid not to have a full resolution version of the pictures taken with footprint. You basically need to take 2 pictures : one for footprint and another one for your PC ! this is insane and i'm sure it would not required a lot of modifications to get this thing work properly.
I think, that footprint was originaly intended as fast mobile service, how to inform your friends, where you are. Therefore taken pictures are small, ideal for MMS and e-mail.

Facebook 1.2 little problem.

Hi,
Yesterday, I installed the new version of the facebook application (1.2) by the windows market place.
But I have a problem only with this new version, when I use the application and "browse" my friends (profile and albums). The application save on my device a lots of little pictures from their profile wich are useless for me. I can see it when I use the HTC album, It's like the application create a folder with a ID and one pictures or more for each friend. So I see a lots of pictures that i don't want to see which need to scroll a lots and i have to delete them one by one every time I use the application.
Does Someone have a solution or advice because i didn't have that problem with the previous version. Thanks
