Hi i would like to flash a new rom on my htc magic;
here is the info of my magic:

I am a complete noob and not a progammer and have no knowledge what so ever.
So i was hoping some one could guide me to how to flash a new rom?
i want to flash an android 2.0 or higher rom but i dont like HTC sense.
So can some one please guide me step by step? What should i do and how should i begin?

Is it 32b roms or is it 32a roms?
So far people has help me recover from bricked phone back to a working phone thanks alot everybody i was kinda scared but not now.

Problem with rooting
Hi, Im a newbie in android and I ve tried to root my phone using the one-click-rooting method but it does not seem to work. It kept on stating backup failed. I tried to install a new ROM straight away but it failed too.
My HTC Magic is the Malaysian version and it came with no Android Market.
I want a new ROM with the Android Market so badly.
These are my phone details.

Anybody with the same SPL as i do that was able to flash it?

I have one of the older mytouch 3g phones and need to root it...what is the best route to take without bricking my phone?

Whats your SPL? Boot into fastboot (back+power) and post that info here.

Currently i am running CM 6.1
Heres my setup:
Mytouch 3g 1.2 32A
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON G

RADIO-2.22.23.02

I tried a full wipe and installing GY RC 6.1 and i got an error with the Boot image during installation of the compcache.
I see that most people have a different radio which appears to be a newer radio, could that be the problem?
any help and directions would be greatly appreciated, thank you
You need to upgrade your radio to either 2.22.28.25 or 2.22.27.08, which is stated in the first post of the Yoshi thread.
