so I just noticed that Herald (4350) is removed from the list of pda's getting the offical WM6 updated on htc.com
anybody know why this phone was removed from the list ?
I dont really care anymore I'm happy with my phone atm, but I highly doubt that is true.
Is there anyway to get Blackberry connect to work on the TC? I've tried downloading it on the phone and activating it, but it just says pending?
If not what are some better ways of getting email to my TC besides Outlook thats built in!
Simply not at the moment....
Sorry I have tried everything but nothing do do...
We need to wait until a big company like voda, swisscom etc desides to support the Polaris.
Blackberry is blocked with a build number and exact Windows version from Microsoft including device type.
Have a good day
Romabn
New Rom comming soon
Hi, just got my Orbit 2 a couple of days ago from a shop. I told the guy that i wanted BB connect, and he said they didn't support it on the polaris. Then he told me (about 3 or 4 times) to keep an eye on the software update in the next days...i ask him and looks like this could be BB connect or WM7.
lets keep and eye and cross fingers!!

Bardo - Any news on this?
Orbit 2 update
Hi guys, sorry not yet...
What do you guys think
DO you think that its possible that BBC will ever be available for the Polaris. I tried the BBC on wife Touch and it works so i tot it would be the same as well for the Polaris so i took a gamble and went to buy it when its available. Unfortunately, it didnt work......so loss the gamble, but it is a nice and light device as compared to my Kaiser.
What do you guys think. Any hope.
Blabckberry Connect
Hi,
I have understood that the Blackberry connect must work without problems on any WM6 device.
I'm just wait to conform this to by a TOUCH CRUISE. Please can anyone comfirm if BB Connect WORK or NOT WORK on Touch Cruise and why?
Thanks in advance

Not at the momment. But im hopeful as i have a smartphone vox and it was working then after a while it stopped working. However, maybe some operator have got the vox to be able to work, and from then onwards it started to work. I guess i may be wrong but its perhaps the build number is different as i reason to believe that the current windows devices are ver 6 and the tc is 6.1, maybe thats why it is not working, as i have tried the bb connect on the htc touch aka elf and it worked flawlessly, so best bet is to see when a suitable windows 6.1 cab is release perhaps ver .92 or .93 then the tc will work.
BB Connect and Cruise
Thanks a lot....! I wait for confirmation on BB Connect before buy Cruise......
About BBC ... Guys! BBC check your OS Version and Device ID!! If you use custom Roms and they have a newer OS Version or a bad modded Device ID, you cant connect to the bbc network! Most time it works with the Original delivered rom only!
HTC Niki works with BBC 4.0, but it doesnt with a new cooked Rom.
Next ... if your Cell Phone Provider hasnt the right to use BBC 4.0, the Black Berry Network drops your PIN and you cant connect again!
You see ... a lot of parameters and licencings can make troubles!
Ergo ... if you use WM6.1 -> BBC drops your PIN!!!
BBC with brand new HTC Cruise......?

Each time I read more ...I'm more confused.... !
I just need to know, if with a out of the box Touch Cruise in Spain, I will be able to use on Vodafone net, BBC with my company BB Enterprise.
I understand in the message of xphobic that HTC Touch Cruise comes with WM 6.1, Is that correct?
Thanks
Jakbru
I'm a BB-connect user, but I'm thinking of buying the Touch Cruise. My network, Rogers supports BB-connect. Will BB-connect work? This is an important feature for me.
Hi, neither Rogers or Fido support BBC for anything other than nokia. You can install BBC but it will not generate a PIN. If anyone got to generate a PIN please let me know.
I'm running BB-connect on my Nokia E90. It generated a PIN automatically and I've been running it for the past two months. I need to know if the Touch Cruise supports BB-connect as well.
I was not able to set it up.

I had a response from someone quite senior in o2 in the UK - they do not intend to support Blackberry connect because RIM are stopping development on the client.

On a distribution WWE rom yes, on any other ROM, no.
I haven't heard of anyone able to get BBC working on the Cruise. This was discussed in another thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=376889
Another place where this was discussed is here:

I'm getting mixed answers. Some say it'll work with original ROM, not with cooked, some say it wont work at all. I'm worried now, I'm picking up a TC like tomorrow, and this is an important feature for me.

Possible in Germany on o2's release ROM I read somewhere.
If you are not using a release WM6 Pro Rom it wont work has been my experience with other devices.
o2 UK say that RIM are about to stop developing for the BBC for Windows Mobile and so they say they are no longer going to offer BBC support for new models.

Has anyone out there had sucess with installing Blackberry Connect on the US version of the HTC Touch Dual and operating as designed? I had blackberry connect working on my two HTC Touch's but need to have it on the HTC Touch dual since this is my new primary business phone. Can anyone lend some direction on the situation?
Regards,
Jay
bb version
I am trying to get to work with the neon200, which it seem like the same model as the U.S version. What version of bb connect have you try? With the previous HTC touch that you got it to work, was it flash with custom ROM or was it original ROM?

Does it have to be WM6.1? What Rom are you running. I´ve made a custom rom for the Neon, you can try that. I dont have a blackberry account so i really cant try.
I´m trying to port to wm6.1 and i´ve asked if someone would be kind enough to dump a rom of a US Touch Dual but so far no one has been kind enough to do so.

My original HTC Touch was equipped with the orginal ROM and I used the 4.0..97 BB connect. It worked on both of my touch phones but this touch dual is different. I wouldn't mind using another ROM but I do not want to loose my radio version because it is configured for 850 which I need here in the states. My windows mobile is 6.1. I really like this phone but I need BB connect to be operational on the unit otherwise I cannot be efficient with my business.
Below are my device specs:
ROM Version: 2.21.422.04
ROM Date: 05/06/08
Radio Version 1.65.20.19
Protocol: 25.86.40.04w
I couldn't get it to work with the stock Rom on the Touch Dual I bought at Best Buy. I don't know why it works with some phones like the Tilt but not others.
I was able to install it but when I tried to get BB Connect Active Sync to configure my Enterprise server config I got the PIN 0 error.
I remember wasting so much time with either the Wizard or another phone last year and just don't have the time to research further.
Same here. Have had it working on another Touch, as well as other WinMo phones, but don't want to spend a ton of time again to get this working. Why must RIM be such idiots and make it so hard?! Create one client, limit the capability so a RIM hardware device is always better somehow[like 10 email accounts in BIS, versus only 3 on the WinMo client], but don't limit the devices that can use a BBC client! It makes no sense really...
a few days ago, wifi dead in my elf, there is no use when i change battery ,rom, gsm, slp, ipl .....
may be my wifi card have lost the mac address.
somebody san ,Mtty can reset the Mac address for the command : lnbs mac.bin XXXXXXXXX .....
but what can i do?
here is my elf's information
Touch version : Elf
Device ID : ELF010000
CID : HTC__203
IPL : 3.07.0002
SPL : 3.07.0000
ROM Version : 2.26.924.2
ExtROM Version : None
Operator Version: None
Page Pool : 8 MB
RAM Size : 64 MB
ROM Size : 128 MB
Model No. : ELF0300
Part Number : 99HDM049-00
MCC+MNC : Not found
IMEI (private) : 355046011842675
Serial Number (private): HT727G606641
MAC Address (private) : 001841143EB3
with the originally rom, wifi also dead .
i too have a problem with wifi. i can't turn it on. somewhere here i've read something about the mac adress, can't find that thread anywhere.
i've updated to ipl 3.14.0002 spl 3.10.cmonex radio 03.18.90 currently with the stock firmware flash (wm6) but tried also onyx 4.6 ultimate and his 5.
nothing works. i got this elfin (elf030050) touch from a friend and i like it, but would love it, if i could get wifi to work. is there no one here at all who can help us who lost wifi?
oh btw. the CID is T-MOB101 with original 2.81.111.1 (ROM) 2.81.111.103 (ExtROM)
any help really would be appreciated. i've searched this forum for the last few days without any luck on this.
€dit: i must also add:
i started flashing the touch (without any problems) because of the lost wifi. it should work though :/
€dit2:
ok, another update: i've upgraded to radio 03.21.90
no change here either. i recon the radio has to do something with the wifi
well, lets see, i might take apart the mda tonight, maybe there is some loose wire or something like that.
This sounds bad.
You tried reflashing to stock rom and issue persist?
Thats bad.
What did you still do?
not only tried, but sucessfully reflashed to that what was on the elf before i started, except for now i have the new ipl/spl and radio roms still installed. the elf works though.
theoretically, as for i can flash it, it should be possible to fix this. cloning a working elf 1:1 and changing imei, mac and so on...
well, i haven't done anything with it since. i just use it, bluetooth works and i can make and get calls with it.
if only i knew what really happened with the elf before i had it.
if only i could find my torx screwdrivers, i'd be taking the elf apart and investigate if anything is wrong in the inside right now.
i also found here on this information rich forum a thread with which i could make a sd card with some check tools. before i try that, i need to get to know more about this, being afraid to render the elf to a heavy paper weight (if you know what i mean)
one shouldn't forget, the issue started with stock rom and still persists after updating ipl spl radios roms and even trying wm 6.1 and 6.5
the only thing which is left is AKU whatever that is. couldn't find appropiate information about that yet.
anyhow, i'd like to reflash the elf to 6.1 or 6.5 but would like to have an almost real stock like rom being complete. don't know how to cook roms atm and i'm in no rush to cook now. maybe, but only maybe, i could have a chance to revive the wifi now by reflashing to a newer wm but i don't think i could be lucky with that. or might this problem be solvable flashing to an even earlier version of the elf's roms
originally the elf had the following rom configuration:
ipl 2.81.0002
spl 2.81.0000
rom 2.81.111.1
extrom 2.81.111.103
aku 0.2.3
i'm not sure what to try next...
Okay, I really dont have much idea.
Probably this can help you.
http://www.google.com.sg/search?hl=...result&cd=1&q=wifi+wont+start+xda+xda&spell=1
Yeah, so..
But your WIFI used to work last time right?
and you mentioned that you have hard-resetted your device before, right?
well, the guy who gave me the elf said it worked before, he never used it though.
yes, i also hard-resetted the device.
in the mean time i've checked some threads on ppc-welt.de and htc-developers.de and found out, that there is a good chance in recovering this while flashing a very old rom onto the device.
this problem seems to be a touch hd problem too, after flashing specific roms (versions) wifi gets disabled
i'm starting to believe that my friend there did update the elf a very long time ago, and forgot about it and didn't notice that wifi got disabled, as he never needed it.
apart from that, i'll check out the google link you've posted.
thanks
now i'm p*ss*d damn thing just shut off and won't start anymore. i'm gonna throw it out the window soon :/
try other cooked roms?
Onyx?
no, haven't tried any other cooked roms. the last rom i installed was the original stock rom of the mda.
anyhow, the mda worked except for wifi for a few days and last week it just shut off and stays off since then. no matter what i tried, it just doesn't react to anything. no charging led, no flashing, just nothing, black screen and no usb reacting when connected to the pc.
this weekend i received the receipt from the previous owner, as the mda still has about 6 months of warranty, and i'm going to send it in today. this is definetly a hardware fault as wifi broke earlier first. they better not try to tell me, that the mda suffered moisture damage, because that won't be true at all.
wish me luck in this
Can you try to start thru bootloader mode by switching off the phone than pressing power + camera button together?
as i said, the mda doesn't respond to anything. no button nadda.
anyway, i brought the mda to the store and in about 1 oder 2 weeks i can pick a brand new one. the guy at the service also thinks its a hardware fault after wifi died.
to this, there sure is no solution
at least i had no other option ^^
consider my problem done for now. thank you for your time.
ok, 2,5 weeks passed and finally i got a call from the t-point where i gave up the mda.
i could come by and pick up my new one.
after getting there in a hurry, well, 300 meters aren't that much *G*, i came into the store and gave them my service note. the guy went into the back and gave me a bunch of papers, one to sign on, and a brand new MDA TOUCH BASIC AN 3130 (not sure, but could be a htc touch viva)
he said, they were sorry, but there was no chance fixing the mda and getting a new same model was merely impossible atm, so they figured, they'd give me the next best model ^^
absolutely the same features as the mda touch elfin 256/128mb with preinstalled windows mobile 6.1
bluetooth, wifi, ah whatever, you name it, it works perfectly... touchflo is a bit slow, which was the first i turned off *G*
now i wonder, this model has a wm 6.1 pro german on it. doesn't disturb me at all, but could an image of it be of any use to anyone?
well, anyhow, i just wanted to let you know

Congrats!
You got an elfin.
Cheers!
are you really sure it's an elfin?
Yup!
Definitely.
Unless you told the wrong figures to me.
I think your box should have a sticker that said HTC Touch Enhanced.
It varies from country to country!
well, the box and the mda look like this one in the following ebay auction:
http://cgi.ebay.de/T-Mobile-MDA-Bas...PDAs?hash=item3ca5a9f42c&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
well the figures i posted above are correct.
Yup, it should be correct.
The wifi is not working ... mmm.
Hi, this is my first post.
I want to know what others OS I can install on hw6945 ipaq. I have install the WM6.1. This OS is too much better than WM5 (my old one) because his batery and performance...
The ask is because I like this phone and if I can evaluate his OS to get the best benefits, I will spend some money in new batery and increse the memory (actualy only 64Mb). If not, I will buy another phone.
In my installation, the phone, bluetooth, gps and wi-fi are presents (i can see looking in HP Asset View (displayed as "MyCPL 7"). Fone I already tested, works fine. But the others don't. What is "GSM" that I read a lot in others posts? What funcionality doesn't work?
Resuming:
1) What the others OS to this hw6945 ipaq?
2) What happens if "GSM" doesn't work?
Already thanks
Gabriel Novy
Hey friend, I know that is possible run Windows Mobile 6.1 and a guy is working here in the xda on a 6.5 ROM, I want to upgrade my memory too, to 128mb, and run great programs on the phone
If GSM do not work you can not make any call at all. Phone does not get a sevice from the operator nor you can turn on phone functions of the device.
Done
Dear friends, I finally done the change.
My hw6945 now is running wm6.1.
Thanks for the answers.
