Can anyone tell me why HTC launched this model without any accessories in the UK. Ok you can get an incar charger and screen protector but the HTC HD2 Car Upgrade Kit - CU S400 and any decent cases won't arrive until February/March 2010........Unless anyone knows where I can get them before Christmas?
Would you rather they hadnt released it yet? I am guessing they were rushing to get it out in time for xmas.

Hi guys, i know this is not a normal question in these forums but i don't know where else to look.
apart from ebay, is there any other way an australian can get their hands on an htc x7501?
any help is appreciated.

After extensive searching, the only place I found was ebay. Also, just making sure that you know the X7501 does not have a front camera for video calls. Only the X7500 does.
that would be because the X7501 is only for the North American Market, the X7500 is for the rest of the world, but obviously it depends on orders from the retailers and networks as to whether the distributors will bother to import it.
i would say Ebay all the way, or from a reputable worldwide online retailer such as expansys or someone similar.

WHy do you want a 7501 rather than a 7500? Did you realise the 7501 is the same but just missing the front camera?
Unfortunately, when I asked the same question of HTC on Oct 24, they replied "
"There is no plans for a release of HTC Advantage X7500/X7501 at this current stage. The shift is due for release last quarter of this year, hopefully this will suite your requirements."
The Shift doesn't suit my requirements so I ordered a 7501 from Mobileplanet - it arrived yesterday!
I asked HTC where I could buy Dopod U1000 back in March this year. They replied that they will not be sellin this device in Australia and New Zealand.
They said the Telco in Australia wanted to charge them an arm and leg for 'testing fee', which HTC refused to pay.
So I got mine from Singapore, and found out that no testing is needed. It just worked.
I don't see SHIFT doing well at all in Australia. It's too small to be used as a Vista machine but too big to be carried around. It's too battery poor, and too slow. I do see Advantage/Athena doing very well in Australia. It is almost a perfect device.

also fixerboy, how long did it take to be sent to you from the day you ordered it? and how much was the combined price with shipping in AUD? was there any customs fees?

Approx $A1200 inc shipping and a 4 in 1 cable - Ordered approx 10 days ago - said backlog was until Nov 22 but the day before yesterday, the tracker said it was backlogged for 9 days - then it showed up yesterday so approx 12 days from order to arrival.
excellent news. i might order it today. i had a look through the checkout process, do you remember which shipping option you chose? in other words, which ones apply to australia? is "rest of the world - 3 - 4 days" the only option available to australians?

Ive had the ameo since t-mobile launch,it has all accessories supplied by t-mobile and box.
Im getting a diamond so i know will hardly use the ameo once it comes.
If anybody in london is after an ameo then make me an offer.
I cant be assed to ship it,thats why this ad is aimed towards someone in london.

when i bought my HTC HD last year, i got a wonderful pouch with it. Unfortunately with the HD2 i didnt. Do HTC do a pouch for the HTC HD2?
If so, where can i buy one from? it needs to be the same material as the one that comes in the box for htc hd.

The official HD2 one is muuuuuch nicer than the HD one - it's leather (ish).
Some providers aren't supplying the pouches (for some unfathomable reason), so you're left getting yourself one. If you want one like the HD pouch, then you'd have to buy it anyway. There's a "cases" thread in the Leo accessories forum. Just have a look in there - it's full of suggestions.
Incidentally, who did you get it from?

I've seen a number of online retailers selling it so just search for the code S510.
I don't use mine, you can buy it (brand new and unused) for £6 including p&p within the UK. Paypal etc fine.

Odd, I got mine from TMobile UK too and they didn't give me a pouch. When I spoke to HTC Tech Support (about a different matter) they said it was TMobile's request that their HD2's came without pouches. Tight fisted...

If anyone is still looking for a x7500 to play with I have one not doing much since I bought my HD2 so am looking to sell it on. It's a T-Mobile Amro branded unit that I bought from a dutch chap a while ago and was happily running with my O2 sim.
Currently has SPL3.5 and Lennies Hulk rom installed and is in full working order. I have a couple of cases, the original manual and a charger with a Euro mains connector and the bodywork is in good condition with just a few sctaches here and there.
If anyone is interested I am happy to post pics up of the unit. I will happily ship anywhere just let me know so I can work out a price for you.

Same here - unbranded
It depends what operator you get it on. T-mobile UK, being the cheapskates they are, don't include the leather case.
At least mine wasn't included.
