Hi everyone,
How many of you experienced the following issue
1. intermittently you are unable to wakeup the phone from standby while pressing power button.
2. sometimes no responding while tapping any place on the screen.
I hope is not just me. I have tried 2 unit, 1st unit replaced with another new one, and yet i'm still experienced the issue.
So is hardware or wm6.5 issue anyone got any commend?
Cheers,
Narutu

When my HD2 returns from standby (switched on by the right hand button) the touchscreen is sometimes unresponsive. At first this just seemed like a short delay so I ignored it but this week it has refused to allow me to unlock it. The screen seems to be frozen.
I have tried turning the HD2 of and on - not completely off as I can't get to this function without being able to use the screen - and if I do this enough the screen will suddenly become responsive. The problem even survives a soft reset.
Yesterday, I decided to do a hard reset thinking I have done one reg tweak too many. After that the screen seemed fine and I could return the HD2 from stand by okay by sliding the 'lock' button. This morning the problem has reappeared and I again find that the screen will not respond to touch but then suddenly seems to work.
Anyone had the same problem or have any suggestions?
Thanks
I have the same problem as you on my brand new HD2. Did you allread have a solution for that?
folks, do report your issues here .. i have a feeling that this is a known hardware issue by HTC and they are just keeping veru quiet about this.

Hi everyone,
I apologise if this is a double up on a previous answer, however I have not been able to find it on here.
My HTC HD2 has been playing up recently. Issues such as:
Back button changing volume down
No sound when I receive a msg or call
Massively short battery life
and now this screen on/off issue that is bugging me.
They are all intermittant issues, but this last one is rather annoying and i believe is linked to the battery life issue (battery lasting 3 hrs max)
The screen just constantly goes from the password screen to the screen off (standby mode) without any buttons pressed.
I have swapped between windows 6.5 and android, but this hasnt solved this latest issue.
I have added a video of what happens:
Search youtube, "HTC HD2 Screen Flicker On and Standby issue"
In addition to the "flicker" issue, I noticed that if I hold down the Volume Up button it stops the on off problem, but I need to keep it pushed down.
I thought it might have something to do with the light sensor, but I disabled the Auto brightness function and this didnt seem to help
Can someone help me please.

First I noticed that my Lock button doesn't work anymore. When I press it, nothing happens. I thought it's a bug or something so I flashed different Roms but the problem still exists...
it is not a hardware problem, because i can hard reset my device normally.
When the phone goes to stand-by mode, it stays off for one second and then it turns the screen and backlight back on. That runs my battery out quite quickly.
I have searched forum for this problem, but did not find any answer.
Is there a solution for this??
the same problem here!!!
have someone an idea?!
I've had the same problem with my Omnia i8000.
But my Phone will come back on only if I am listening to Music.
Does this happen to you while listening to Music ? If Yes, then just turn the volume one step down. Thats a workaround I've found for my phone.
has anybody fixed this issue on their omnia pro yet?
i am facing the same issue, the screen is always on as the lock key doesnt do anything....the only time the screen shuts off is when using the touch music player after 60 sec.(backlight setting when phone not on external power)......screen turns on when the song ends.....hard reset to factory settings doesnt fix the issue......plz help if u hv a solution figured out....thnx

Amazing... You are my lifesaver...I have been facing this problem since last one month.
Your idea worked for me but can you tell why this problem occurs? and this is a temporary solution...Is there any permanent solution to this problem?
Greetings to all. I had this problem for a while. I solved it with 2 programs - the first is AEButton and the second Smart Lock. I mapped the W&L button to "lock device"(AEButton). After that going to SmartLock ticked: Lock screen and then stand-by. In this way I used the W&L buttons as lock key. Worked for me, hope it works for you!
P.S. I am using custom rom without the touchwiz interface, I dont know if that makes any difference!
EDIT: It fixes the issue partly...the screen pops out every 20 seconds or so.... Seems to me it is a hardware problem. Flashing with different ROMs doesn`t seem to work.
Hello, I am experiencing a new problem since the 2 last updates ( last one was 12.1-YOG4PAS3AJ ) as the screen freezes randomly. Mostly when receiving a call which is very annoying as you cannot answer. So I have to reboot the phone 3 to 4 times a day. I am now thinking about switching to ZUI as I use the phone as my daily driver.
Anyone experiencing a similar case?
i encounter this when you change adaptive brightness.
Ok thanks, I put it to automatic to see if the bug stops
Screen freeze
I just bought this phone yesterday and I also have same update and the screen goes off and comes on while taking calls and ending calls.
Any solution for this problem? I face this problem even when i turned off adaptive brightness
@Glops4 Do you find a solution for the problem?

I just did as you suggested, it is now working fine. I guess the bug still exists.
i have the same problem :'( ,, sometimes phone doesnt wake up from sleep , and sometimes after a call the touch stops working but buttons work .
Any solution or work around? Did you use any short key for long press of home/back button? I felt whenever i use lock screen as a option when i long press home/back button, i am hitting this issue. Please confirm @hwoarang626 & @Glops4.
I tried the long press home for screen off.. But i dont encounter tbe issue... I only get it some times after a call
My system details
Mine was doing the same thing, I am up to 12.1-YOG4PAS3OH, that update solved the problem.
Edit: hwoarang626 looks like you are still having the problem?
it happened 2wice then i enabled adaptive brightness and stopped using double tap 2 wake and it didnt happen again .
After last update I cant use fingerprints capasitive button as back button. I couldnt find any settings. Please help me. Thanks
I have left the buttons default, and do not use the 2 tap to wake screen.
The settings I use are Adaptative Brightness on and LiveDisplay off. Never had a screen freeze since.
And long press back button didn't help either.

Hello all,
I've been using ZUK Z1 for just about a week now and everything was fine until a couple of days ago when I could not unlock the phone after a call - the power button and the home button turned the screen on for a split of a second and then the screen went off again without reacting to any taps. I had to restart the phone by pressing the power button + the volume down button. I tried to reproduce the issue, but did not succeed.
Yesterday, I had the same issue twice and then I finally got it how to reproduce the problem The main condition seems to be ending the call when the screen is off. That can be achieved by holding the phone close to your ear when the call it ended by the other party or ending the call by pressing the power button (you need to turn on that setting beforehand) again while holding the phone close to your ear.
Another guy on another forum wrote that had experienced the same issue once and yet another guy mentioned that there was such an issue with Cyanogen on OnePlusOne, but it was fixed in one of the updates.
I'm currently on 12.1-YOG4PAS3OH and I'm not sure whether it is a Cyanogen issue alone or an issue caused by interaction of Cyanogen and some of the applications installed. I'm inclined to believe that it's the latter, otherwise there would be a lot of people who ran into the issue.
This weekend, if time permits, I'm going to try uninstalling the applications one by one to find out whether any of them contribute the issue, but maybe some of you have already done some investigation or know how fix the issue. I would appreciate your input.
Thanks.
Hi there, i am facing the same issue since two days now
First i am unable to come up with the physical home button issue and now there is this new issue. The phone does not respond after a call and the screen remains off and does not respond to any touch (double tap) or even the power button and home button pressed. I had to take the mobile into the recovery mode via home buttons power button and volume rockers. Is there any possibility of this getting fixed. I think i made a huge mistake purchasing this phone.. Slowly getting into problems one by one.. First the physical home button issue then this screen off issue. Checking for updates daily but seems like ZUK officials and Cyanogen are sleeping! Highly disappointed!!!!
In the meantime, I uninstalled most of the applications and the issue was still there Then I tried to play with different settings and it seems I have nailed it. After disabling turning on the screen by double tap (I'm not sure how the setting reads in English, I'm using the Russian interface), I cannot longer reproduce the issue.
Sydarij, could you, please, check whether the setting is on in your case and, if it is, turn it off and try to reproduce the issue with the screen?

Do you mean after turning off the tap to wake option on your ZUK, you are no longer facing such issue?

Yes, that's what it seems. With the option turned on I could reproduce the issue (just 1 or 2 tries were needed), while with the option turned off I could not reproduce the issue at all.

After turning off this feature, the device unlocks by itself without me waking it up. Turning the feature off doesn't seem to help buddy!

This seems to be a different problem. How the option for preventing accidental wake-up is set? (It's just below the double tap option. )
In any case, one owner on another forum complained about the accidental wake-up issue despite the setting was on, but he meddled with the firmware before that...

Yes, the accidental wake up is set yet the issue cannot be resolved. Any other way you can resolve this and prevent the issue from reproducing? In my opinion, ZUK and Cyanogen officials are asleep after launching their new flagship. Dont see any updates coming from them since last 2 months. highly disappointed with this!

No idea. The solution I found seems to work well for me, at least I have not had any issues since I applied it.
Please turn on adaptive brightness. Issue will be resolved

Hi! I'm facing the same issue for the last 3 days. I felt everytime there is any moisture of sweat on the ear piece the phone hangs and doesn't get unlocked.
Will try shutting the double tap options. Hope it works! This is the first time I've brought anything in the launch sale without reading reviews. Hope I don't regret this.
