Just got my LG Eve today, and I'm already hating the Rogers bloatware. Any luck with rooting the Eve, and getting 1.6 on it? The phone is fairly quick with all the Rogers crap on it, I can only imagine how great it would be with a good firmware on it

That's a hardware and not a software problem
So I guess no one can help me with this issue?
Its SHOULDN'T be a hardware issue.... its rogers branded so it runs on the same frequencies..... same as the rogers g1 which people have 3g at&t on.... so what's the issue ?
have you set up AT&T apn?
my friend has a LG EVE and he is fine with At&T 3G with no root at all
Yes but Im not sure I have the right APN. Could you tell me what your friend has?
I found you this
AT&T APN
Name: AT&T
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: leave blank
Port: leave blank
Username:[email protected]
Password:CINGULAR1
Server: leave blank
MMSC:h-t-t-p://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS Port: 80
MCC:310
MNC:410
APN Type: leave blank
and make sure your LG EVE is from Rogers
That is exactly what I have set and it is deff Rogers branded. I can not figure this out.

well ive been a user of the 5.99 t-zones deal for a while. I used to use it with my tilt with no problem as well as other phones. But i seem to be running into a brick wall with the g1. No matter what i put in as the apn settings it sends me to the "you must upgrade to the g1 plan."
One of the weird things is that anytime i do this:
Name: T-Mobile US
APN: wap.voicestream.com
proxy: 216.155.165.050
port: 8080
Username: Not set
Password: Not set
Server: Not set
MMSC: unchanged from original (http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc)
MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.050
MMS Port: 8080
MMC: unchanged (for me it was 310, I believe it is based on your location)
MNC: unchanged (for me it was 260, I believe it is based on your location)
APN type: Not set
and change the apn to http or https it autotomticly cuts off my data. No matter if its 3g or edge. the icon just goes away. is anyone else having this problem?
sorry to reply without any help or solution, i just wanted to ask if you could add the country that you're referring to when you mention T-Mobile in the thread title.
(T-Mobile US / UK / GER / WHEREEVER)
it just helps people quickly see if the thread is any use to them or not, or if they can help.
thanks, sorry i couldn't help though.

i don't have a g-1 but try APN: epc.tmobile.com with no proxy or port. i also have the t-zones plan and use this on my diamond so i don't have to use a proxy server.
for my mms proxy i have always use 216.155.165.50 not .050.
and the MMSC: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms.

Nope. Same reason a G1 won't work on AT&T 3G. Doesn't work. It sucks, get over it, move on.
It's offtopic now, but 3g does get working on an unlocked iPhone. I know at least it does with Tmobile. The Gevey sim works flawlessly.

I don't see how that would work- at least not on 3G speeds, AT&T and T-Mobile use different 3G bands.
However, I haven't been in the loop lately, maybe it is possible
i phone well not work with T mobile 3g it is the same as G1 well not work
with ATT 3g

Before you jump to conclusions my kind sir. I wasnt asking because I wanted to do so. I was asking because she said she got it to work. So you get over yourself and move on.
I was curious because I was under the impression that it DIDINT work. However, now you have people here verifying they got it to work.
Anyway, my question was answered.

Really? Where? I see a bunch of he-said she-said but no actual verification.
Edit: I'm also curious about The Jimi Hendrix quote you got wrong in your signature. On purpose?
Ok first off the iphone 3G will work on T-mobile but not at 3G speeds. You will be able to get on the internet but it will only be over EDGE. T-mobile uses 1700mhz and 2100mhz and At&t uses 850mhz for their 3G. The iphone runs off 850mhz for its 3G but also uses 1900mhz for EDGE. Thats why it works on T-mobile.
Back to what OP was asking. You can no longer use t-zones with your G1. T-mobile has blocked that. Thats why you got a message saying you need to upgrade your service. As of right now there is no way around it.
Wondering if these services work with AT&T on a regular sim-unlocked G1:
3g work with AT&T ?
MMS work with AT&T ?
Is Root required?
I do know how to root and sim-unlock, asking for my dad whose wanting to get a G1.
AT&T's 3G is on a different frequency, so no.
MMS should work with the correct settings listed somewhere in the forums. Root is not required to use it on another network.

Edge will work.
You should be able to get 3g on the HTC Dream on AT&T assuming you buy the Canadian version from Rogers. I believe they can be unlocked but I'm not sure. They haven't been rooted yet. We're trying to get that now. There were some donations put together and we sent Haykuro a Rogers phone last week for him to try and root. It should be at his place tomorrow, so hopefully it wont take him too long to root it, then you'd have full control over the phone.
However just simply unlocking it should allow it to work on AT&T's 3g network as both AT&T and Rogers use the same frequencies for their 3g network.
I have the G1 on AT&T everything works besides 3G which isn't a huge deal because T-mobile doesn't have 3G where I am.
I also use an ADP1 on AT&T in Phoenix with no issues besides no 3G. I get about 200kbit/sec down and 120kbit/sec up. Nothing to write home about, but it works.

The new HTC stuff blows the old stuff out of the water as far as speed and useability is concerned....try running a good build of Android(like Redtopia) on an HD2...runs circles around the captivate I tell yah that.

Irony me googling took me here
When I first started with the different android ROMS I know I couldn't but figured it has been some time and I see some great ROMS on here. Hoped someone figured out a way to get it working.
So I need a ROM(NAND) that would allow me to use the Tmobile 3G services on my HD2 Leo.
Thanks.
Did you set in the right apn settings?
$1 gets you a reply

got this of another thread....
US: tmobile APN settings
Name: Whatever you want to call it
APN: epc.tmobile.com
The rests are blank (not set) until you get to MMSC.
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS proxy & port are <not set>
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
APN type: <not set>
Or you can try these if that doesnt work CLICK HERE
I feel like you're specifically asking if 3G is working and yes...it works perfectly fine.
The APN in LaneyEFC's post is perfectly fine and don't forget you're not always going to get 3G (or even 2G) if you're not in a city...T-Mobile seems pretty bad with Data Service; to be honest...I'm looking forward to AT&T taking over.
I have never been without atleast Edge and I always get 3G and a good portion of the time H (3.5G) in the city.
NEXUS 4 APN Settings
Has anyone seen APN settings like theses and can you explain why they work?
Name: Straight Talk
APN: wap.tracfone
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: 66.209.11.32
MMS Port: 80
I live in Columbus,Ga using a T-Mobile sim on straight talk and tried everything I could find even ST customer service and nothing worked well. Then 1 night on straight talk CS chat the rep gave me this and now I get HSPA+ and 4G all over the area. What I don’t understand is the APN: wap.tracfone and the MMSC with cingular in it. All of the other APN’s I found at XDA, the net or straight talk never used those two items. Also I am using a hybrid radio flash but have been using various combinations of APN’s and radios since I got the phone and the APN is what made the difference.
I'm in Tmobile classic plan and my data has been slow the past week or so, not sure why. I am gonna try this APN just to see what happens, it is working, but I'll see how fast it is.

Thanks, that explains the cingular and Straight Talk does have, or had ATT, sims I have a T-mobile sim. I still don't see how an ATT APN works with a T-Mobile sim.
MMSC = multimedia messaging service center. Data does not use this unless it is MMS related. How is your MMS working? The other fields could be standard and you would actually be going thru T-Mobile for data.

My data is fine now, where before I was getting no data Again with this new APN I am getting data coverage in my area where until I changed to this APN I could not get coverage. I even asked at the local T-Moile store about coverage and they said that in my specific area coverage for data is not good but w/this change I am a happy customer.
was working. may be my fault i try again
