app2sd on htc hero (madaco custom 3.0) - Hero CDMA General

Hello everybody i am new in the android community.
does someone know how to get apps2sd on the htc hero with amon-ra recovery image and modaco custom rom 3.0.
srry for this noob question but i am quite a newbie

Think you have the wrong sections of the forum. Modaco 3.0 isn't applicable (yet hopefully) to the CDMA (Sprint) hero.

This is typically (in the CDMA roms) done by default if you have your SD card partitioned correctly. Boot into recovery and run the Partition FAT/EXT/Swap. Then you would have to uninstall and reinstall all yours apps to get them on the card.

You have to root it and do some more. When rooting you will loose your warranty.

what more?
Look in the development forum, there is a thread about apps2sd. Or pick a ROM with that feature.

can u find it for me?
go to htc tattoo>android development and then you can find your custom rom....
All the ROMs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=698576
What rom?
What rom is good?
There are a lot of 1.6 ROMs, some 2.1 and 2.2 and a 2.3
With 2.2 you do not need to partition the SD card.
The newer Android version the ROM has, the more applications are compatible with it.

I think this might help
Using Clockwork recovery is actually much better in my opinion and enables you to backup your Rom. I don't think there is a Daf version but if you have any questions on how to install just message me and I can walk you through it. It is actually really simple!

These have not been updated in a while and there are more up to date Rom's out there just to let you know
Hi Yerdan. I would like to ask you to please elaborate on that. I am also looking for Android roms for my HD2 and currently running Rafdroid. I would like you to list a few very close to stock Desire HD roms with the newest version of Sense.

[Q] HD2 help

Q.1)Hey my friend have a HD2 he got its network unlocked i want to know is if i flash different bootloader will his network get relocked??
Q.2)Hey tell me is NAND or SD rom which one is better he needs android?
Q.3)Which rom do u use and recommend he wants one time installation....
Q.4)n00b's guide will be great...
Q.5)Is everything working in android rom??Camera(with zoom)?WIFI?Bluetooth?
1. Don't know, sorry, but I would assume not.
2. NAND is much better, but if he wants WinMo as a backup then obviously SD. However, NAND is VERY stable.
3. I recommend Typhoon CM7 although there are tons of great ROMs.
4. Go through the stickies in Android NAND Development, go to the tutorial on how to install NAND Android with CWM.
5. Yes, everything works well. No 720p recording (unimportant) and a few other bugs, depending on ROM.
Unlocked phones do not get locked again if you flash a new radio, bootloader, android, ClockWorkMod recovery, WinMo, Win7 or Ubuntu.
While there are a ton of n00b threads, here is what you are looking to search for-
1. HSPL- Make sure you get 2.08
2. Radio- Make sure you have 2.12.50.xx or 2.15.50.xx
3. Download and use ksubedi's tool kit, its a sticky on the NAND section to install boot loaders and recovery
4. Get a ROM that matches your bootloader, flash it from recovery
Read up about Magldr and cLK bootloaders to make your choice.

The points I gave you has all the keywords you should look-up/ search for before you start your Android journey. Please read-up on each step properly, else you may end up with a brick!

Then you obviously need to start searching and reading.
You cant just create a topic and expect people to teach you everything, If you want to learn go and read. There is information in abundance, plenty of guides and step by step instructions.
PS. When creating topics your title needs to be descriptive. "HD2 help" is not descriptive.

You asked for a n00b guide...!
Anyways, if you are not a n00b, then the points I gave you are sufficient to search the forum and get to the works. Do remember, every phone is different- what you did for the x10 will be a lot different from what you have to do for the HD2. Do your reading first before you start anything, just to be safe than sorry...

Yes you are using a Froyo ROM, Gingerbread has several advantages over Froyo, one being a better keyboard. Also there is a lot of apps that do not run on Froyo but do on Gingerbread.
hi if i have androied on my phone htc hd2 can i just down load a new rom and install it?
You need to be reading around in the HD2 Android forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=743
Yes, all you need to do is download and install another ROM. There are instructions for installation in whatever ROM you choose to install. There are a lot to choose from.
whats the best one?

Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Neopolitan, Spumoni?
Really, you can't ask that kind of question around here and expect a serious reply. Try Tytung, that was previously recommended to you. Or Hyperdroid, or AmeriCan Android.
Try any or all of them.
hey sorry im new to this dont know the steps to take like i said its an hdc hd2 and i have android on it im happy whit what i have i just wanted to know if the only thing i have to down load is the new rom and install?

Have you even tried looking in the NAND Development forum? There are tonnes of those to choose from. Read the sticky at the top by yz.hd for a good list of almost all of them.

dude, i am looking for a Sence nand rom (since I use HTCsync) that will install on the phone's internal memory only without the need to partition and use my external SDCARD (of the HD2 EU version).
AFAIK, I couldn't find any ROM beside the one that I posted its link in my previous post that can be installed on the phone's internal memory only !
Any help is highly appreciated !

Literally a few seconds on the NAND Development page and I found this. The OP clearly states that A2SD is an extra addon, and post 4 confirms this. Should be fine for you

Not sure if any of those don't use SD EXTs for EU models, but if so it will be a 2.3.3 with Sense 2.1 ROM. I'm reasonably sure that Sense 3.0 + is far too big to fit only on NAND storage. Also, the whole point of the Q&A is to ask questions and get answers So there isn't any need to be embarassed unless you haven't searched yet
You can try Team Blue Droid by Dansta, it is GB with Sense 3.5. All you need to do is flash it, as long as you do not have an sd-ext then it will automatically flash as a Tmous HD2 and install the rom on internal memory.

Nand only sense 3.5 on a EU hd2 without sd-ext? are you sure that thing even exist?
Even if it does, I doubt you'll be able to install more than just a couple of apps.
Use YZ sticky compilation to find sense 3.5 roms, and start narrowing them down.
