Does HD2 from T-Mobile UK have any logos? - HD2 General

Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me if T-Mobile UK version of HD2 has any T-Mobile logos? (front, battery cover etc)
If it's only a logo on the battery cover, then it could be replaced.
I have an opportunity to buy Leo that comes from T-mob but since I'm with o2 it might be a bit annyoing to have other logo on it.
I know it's not a big deal to have an operator logo on the device, but when you spend 500 quid for the phone, you do care about details.
Thanks
Pete

ive a t-mobile HD2 ...no logos on mine though is locked currently (which they are removing) and a logo appears briefly on bootup ....

no logos whatsoever. the exterior is the exact same as the generic ones. the only customisations can be found in the software. that's it. but u can easily get rid of those anyway. ohya, it's sim locked too.

As I would like to do the same with mine of course

HTC HD2 on o2 - locked!

o2 have supplied me the handset locked to the network even though I purchased it out of contract outright.
I know there is no hardspl out there yet but anyone unlocked their HD2 yet?
o2 need to fill out a form and send it to HTC which could take 28 days

yes yes anyone can google but half of these sites are dodgy. Why do you think I posted here.
i ordered an unlock code from the web said 5 to 30 mins, that was 5 hours ago !! im still waiting........ i will let you know if and when it comes through.
first handset i think o2 have locked.
is there no such thing as an imei unlock code generator ?? how do all these websites do it ??
if anyone can unlock my HD2 quicker i will pay for it !
Second in the google results is leo.unlock-now.com
I purchased the unlock code for my Touch HD (was locked on Orange) from blackstone.unlock-now.com

Yes i did ask O2 for it they said it would be upto 28 days... and would cost me 15.00 pounds.
i paid 17.99 on MOBILEUNLOCKED.COM for a 5-30 mins service which i thought was worth the extra few pounds.
digging around a bit there are a few websites this guy runs (the contact info in it is the same) and the e-mails come from mobileunlocked.com
If they clearly sold you a phone without simlock, they must provide a device without simlock, it is as simple as that. If they are not willing to change it fast, I would give it back and get it somewhere else.
If they are customer friendly, they usually do have ways and solutions. A Samsung phone I had was unlocked in a service center within 10 minutes, my Xperia took the same way. I actually never "buy" phones through contractual down payments...
will let you guys know how I get on with leo.unlock-now.com

What get gets me is that people quote a few minutes to unlock but then they do not getting back to you.
If i had an e-mail saying sorry it will be 24 - 48 hours then, at least i would know. (sorry to moan !)
i've used leo.unlock-now.com as well, but put in the HD2 first rather than the HD2 T8585 (Which is the O2 one). Haven't heard back yet, but have sent an email to state what I did wrong. I'll let you know too!

mine is a T8585 as I have an o2 one.
also - can anyone with an o2 one find the screen allignment option? looks like o2 have basterdised the os a bit too much.
It's under settings>advanced>display but pointless as you don't have a stylus.
I do not have an advanced top level menu under settings!?

Anyone heard from their respective websites yet? I really doubt that a website will be able to unlock it over the insternet in "a few hours" when a phone provider has to send the information off to htc to get it done.
I have had bad experiences in the past trying to unlock sonys and nokias (not mine) and wouldnt use one again. Im sure there are very reliable sites out there but the ones I used which I researched before using just took my money then kept it for 2 days before saying that my phone couldnt be unlocked.
Freaky LOL
im thinking of buying htc hd2 from o2 for 400£ should it come unlock or unbranded?

HD2 with T-Mobile branding but without simlock

Hello,
on some websites you can get a htc hd2 with t-mobile branding but without simlock.
What is the difference between a htc hd2 with and without the branding?
Is there a chance to get other roms with hspl on the phone with branding?
w w w. telefrog. de/product_info.php?info=p360_htc-touch-hd2-t-mobile-smartphone-ohne-vertrag--kein-simlock. html
I want to order the phone on monday but i don't know if i could take the cheaper on with branding or spend 70€ more an take ohne without branding and simlock.

Get the cheaper one with the simlock and branding.
You can get rid of all branding by installing HardSPL and then flashing any stock or custom rom you want.
You can get your sim unlocked for around 22euros (20pounds) if you want to use different sim cards in your phone.
The unbranded phone without the simlock isnt worth the extra expense in my opinion.
Mark.
has tmobile stamped there phone with tmobile logo on back or front like they normaly do.....
I have done just that. Bought a locked T-Mobile (UK) HD2 from ebay (Seal intact) £330. Unlocked it £7.50 ebay, Re-ROMed it with Miri ROM. No stamp on casing
The only snag was an annoying T-Mobile log at startup. I solved it when I stumbled accross a thread on this forum about boot logos. Now there is no sign of T-Mobile.
Hi
Brought HD2 less than a month ago from
mobilephonesdirect.co.uk/Free_HD
No logo on front and back, no tmobile logo on boot up.
I updated the rom as it comes with an older rom from the HTC site so it is not provider locked.
This is the best deal i have seen .free phone, unlimited internet, 600 mins talktime, i got 900 on mine for no extra cost, didn't even have to ask , it just came with it. and i think 500 txt on 24m contract. Bargain.
It still on over ,i've just checked. Comes next day if you order before 3 oclock.

Hello Tattoo community! Need urgent advice to potential buyer :)

Hello,
Probably will buy this device tomorrow, used, dont sure ifs its unbranded or Vodafone (Portugal) branded.
I have a question ...
- If it's unbranded (and so on unlocked), there's anything I need to know (something in the firmware), so I can install "anything" I want?
- If its branded and sim locked... it's easy to unbrand and unlock? Should I take a look of something on the firmware?
Really appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Tiago
There is no good way yet to unlock the htc tattoo locked to orange uk except from using the ismart sim 2008. Besides the simlock problem, you have a smaller screen than other android devices. So some apps or games might not work properly.. but most of them do. Also you have limited access to the market, that is, you can access products that have been specified htc tattoo compliant only unless you root the device and install the cracked market app. Besides that everything is ok.

I never said it's tattoo orange uk... I said maybe its vodafone portugal tattoo...
smaller screen? what's the normal screen for tattoo ?
he ment its small screen, compared to other HTC phones, most phones got 3+ inches screen, tattoo is 2.8.
about unlocking - its ur rights to try put ur sim card in the phone before u buy it. Myn was unlocked, thought they sayd its locked to they network. At same time - they use same phones for selling as locked to they network with a contract, as same phones for selling it for full price...

I dont want to count with simcard... always had problems with it.
So its not easily possible to unlock and unbrand a tattoo ?
Dude, if I had the chance I would have bought a device which is easily upgradeable to another Android OS or other ROMS (maybe with different OS').
But returning to your issue:
Unbranding shouldn't be a problem (I removed Vodafone Germany branding), but with unlocking there are problems with certain providers. Just put your SIM in first and see if it boots, otherwise I would take another device if the tattoo should be locked.

But if I put my TMN sim card on Vodafone Tattoo, it's suppose to work ?
Not understood what you explained, sorry.
Some carriers sell phones that are locked to them, others sell unlocked phones.
Here in the UK for instance, vodafone phones are not locked and an HTC Tattoo bought from them can be used with any SIM. Ones sold by Orange are locked to them and can only be used with an Orange SIM.
I do not know if Vodafone in Portugal lock their phones or not, the simple way of checking is by trying your non vodafone SIM and seeing if it works.
Unlocking the Tattoo can be done but costs $15 or so I believe (although with the Desire they then charge you another $20 - a very dodgy practice), far better to buy one that's not locked in the first place unless you want to use it on the carrier it's locked to.
You posted a couple of days ago - have you already bought the phone? Was it unlocked? Or have you not bought it yet?

Now I understood.
Here in Portugal, ALL phones are SIM Locked. Unlock goes from 50$ to 150$.
That's why I asked if it's easy to do it by us.
HTCCode.com say on the front page that it costs $15 but people in the Desire forum are saying they are being told that their device costs more - but only after they've paid the $15.

[Q] t-mobile UK logo on Desire HD or not?

I've been with o2 now for about 8 years and to be honest I can't fault their service. However, noticing they won't be offering the Desire HD (I have a Desire at the moment) I have been looking around, and notice t-mobile will be doing some pretty good deals. That, coupled with the recent news you can now use Orange's network, makes it all the more tempting. My question though, being a t-mobile noob, is will they slap a 't-mobile' logo somewhere on the phone? Would much rather have one with no branding but if that's what you have to accept to get an awesome phone and a considerably lower bill.. I'll take the plunge. Apols if this is mentioned elsewhere.
Cheers in advance

I very much doubt there will be branding on the phone itself, like 99 percent no... But if you buy direct from tmob you might have a crappy t-mobile rom on the phone, always best to buy offline or contract at carphone warehouse, or online with mobiles.co.uk or mobilephonesdirect.co.uk
JD
The ROM I can deal with, don't intend to keep the stock ROM going for long but thanks, will check those sites out
I'm 99% sure their won't be any logo. Bought desire from them and there were no markings at all, unlike Vodafone and orange. Only when you boot up the phone then T-Mobile logo appears which is the norm for all network issued mobiles. If you don't even want that then try mobilephonesdirect.com who issue unlocked mobiles with their contracts.
Why do you not get it through this site as they are offering it on O2 if you want to stay with them -
http://www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk/Brands/HTC/b509/n442/p83978.aspx#tabsAnchor
If they say you cant do an upgrade change your number onto a PAYG sim and then port the number across
The regular Desire from T-mobile didn't get any hardware branding. So I assume the Desire HD will be the same
There were only light software branding such as a w'n'w icon on the internet and some deleteable bookmarks.
I am getting an upgrade from tmobile but to be sure i am gettign the DHD via Carphone Warehouse to ensure that it is unlocked/brand free.

My HD2 - Question

I meant to ask this ages ago, when i purchased my HD2 last year on eBay UK it was brand new and boxed and locked to T-Mobile UK,that wasn't a problem as i have a T-Mobile UK SIM anyway but i got it unlocked.
The thing is though,im sure this has to be a TMOUS HD2 as the internal storage is 1024 and not the EU 512, how is this if it was initially locked to T-Mobile UK?
Has anyone else got as HD2 like this?
Is it possible that "locked to t-mobile UK" could actually be "locked to t mobile"? I'm fairly sure I remember reading of a guy with an Orange France phone that worked fine on Orange UK a year or two back.(edit - or maybe voda)

Not sure to be honest, the person i bought it off said they were with T-Mobile UK and had gotetn an upgrade to the HD2 but decided to sell it to get the money instead, im not complaining though as i have the extra internal space but it took me a while to notice this, as i said i got it unlocked and it works fine on any SIM card ive tried.

well, its pretty critical that you know for sure before you do any kind of flashing, because the tmous is much easier to brick.
What colour is the send key? white or green? does it say tmobile under the earpiece? got a screen shot of the hardware info page?

I've flashed loads of ROMS mostly without any issue.
the send key is white, no it doesnt say t-mobile under the earpiece, hardware info page just says Wi-Fi MAC address unavailable and Bluetooth adress unavailable.
??
well, its not a tmous case anyway. the hardware info page i was expecting you woudl show flash size and such like. but im not on winmo to check the keypresses to get there, hehe.
Guess it doesn't matter, since you've flashed before.
