Is there any way to change the order of people in the Manila people Tab?
I dont want to delete them all and after that add them in my favourite order.
Because i got daily new contacts.
I know there is a alphabetical order but i dont want to change every name, to 01-15 or A-Z.
There is no answer in the Manual..

Not by any TF3D menu. Maybe some registry tweaking?
In the Registry i didnt found anything with "people", "name of the contacts" or "manila" :/
Ok in no TF3D Menü and Registry, maybe in the Manila files or a config file?
Does anybody know a file for the people tab?
I am not sure you can get an automatic rearrangement of the contacts you see in the phone tab.
I am not familiar with TF3D, but in M2D the phone tab settings are in HKLM\Software\HTC\Contacts keys 0 through 11 for my 12 choices.
If you rearange the sequence of contacts in these keys, you should be able to get what you want.
I would probably do is export the registry keys, renumber them in my new sequence and then reapply the registry file.
Thank you for your answer, unfortunately there is no "HKLM\Software\HTC\Contacts" entry in the Registry (M3D/TF3D).
Only one in "HKCU\Software\HTC\People" but there is only "OwnerInfo".
I wonder where they store the Informations.

This is buggin me aswell.. My nr1 is the one I dont call so much... Annoying.. Anyone?
Hi all,
I have dutty's latest rom installed, and I decided I wanted extra calendar appointments on my home screen. So I *fistly* Installed "Compact Homescreen - Autohide Call history, dynamic appointment list" from hallatore from this page, then "Homescreen HD - Tore edition" from the same page because I wanted my wallpaper back.
Now, every time I tap the clock to go to my alarm, TouchFlo resets, and tapping calendar entry's goes to the old style calendar.
PLEASE HELP. All I wanted was some extra appointments on my home screen, and a dynamic 'Missed Calls' bar. I've cocked it right up.
.
The cab files seem to include the following:
00000cab.000
1C684C~1.001 = 1c684cd8_manila
25D044~1.002 = 25d04412_manila
2A0AC4~1.003 = 2a0ac464_manila
_setup.xml
Is there any way I can reset these to how they were?
Maybe if someone can copy these files from thier "Dutty HD V3.7 XT Final" rom for me, I can overwrite them in the windows folder... Would that work?
.
.
.
PLEASE!
PLEASE!
Can anyone who has Dutty's latest rom installed, please copy the following 3 files from the windows directory for me!
1c684cd8_manila
25d04412_manila
2a0ac464_manila
PLEASE! I need them back to normal.
.
Here are the 3 files.
They are copied from Duttys 3.7 XT Final with Manila 2.1.
Please press start, and count the number of icons available on the start menu.
If there are 30 slots, you're on Manila 2.1. If there are 24 slots, you're on Manila 2.0.
Please only use these files if you are on Manila 2.1. I don't know how they will work on Manila 2.0.
Edit:
If you go to settings tab -> all settings -> System tab -> Remove programs, don't you have the option to uninstall the two cabs you installed?
This should set your system back to normal.

Thanks for that Royan. It doesn't seem to have made a difference though. Now I'm thinking it's made some registry changes I don't know about.
Can someone check to see what registry entries the attached cabs have changed, and what they should be.
I feel such a fool. I'd just got the phone to a state that I could live with. I'm so annoyed at myself for trying to change it.
.
Both files do exactly the same, and that is installing the above mentioned files to the windows folder.
There are no registry changes made.
The way it looks, is that the second file you install will overwrite the changes made by the first file you install.
If you try to uninstall from remove programs, the system should be back to normal.
If that doesn't work, try removing the files and soft reset.
Soft resetting after removing the files, should restore them from ROM.
Last attempt, if that doesn't work, is hard reset. However, that will wipe the phone, so get a backup of all data you want to keep!
PIMBackup is a good program to save PIM data such as call history, SMS messages, contacts, appointments etc. You can find it by searching this forum.
Good luck

I've tried uninstalling, but the uninstaller claims it can't do it, then asks me if I want to remove it from the list, which it can't do even if I press yes.
I really don't fancy doing a hard reset, I've spent the last week setting it right up.
There must be a registry entry somewhere that tells it what to do when you tap the clock, it used to go to that lovely new alarm screen.
Also, what did the new rom do when you clicked a calendar entry on the home screen? Did it go to the new style calendar? I can't remember. It's currently going to the old style microsoft pap.

New style...
Did you try deleting the files with Total Commander ( not regular file explorer), and soft-resetting?
Actually, try renaming then to *.bak instead of deleting (just in case... )

Royan
I renamed them using Resco and did a soft reset as you said, but I'm now thinking it's not those files. The installation must have changed something else.
Damn it.
.
The installation of the two cabs did not do anything anything other than installing the three manila files.
I've opened the packages in CAB Manager, and I did not see anything else.
If the problem is not the specific files, then it must have been something else you installed.
Maybe try to uninstall one and one program, soft-resetting after each, and see what (if any) fixes the problem.
If nothing helps, I'm afraid a hard reset is your only option.
Look on the positive side, If you spent a week customizing your phone, you know what you did. It shouldn't take you more than an hour or three to get all it back.

2 hours later and...
Hard Reset - Done.
Reinstalled everything, resynced, re-setup my emails, put all my favourtites back, all that's left is to remap my contacts with thier facebook selves and I'm done.
NEVER DOING THAT AGAIN...
Unless someone knows how to get more appointments on the home screen on Dutty 3.7 XT...
Congratulations!?!?
Good that you're back to a working device.
Just sorry that it took a heard reset to do it.

Hi there,
is there any way to force Manila to update the links shown in the programs tab / new startmenu?
I'd like to change them by registry, but then I need to restart Manila, what is not very smart.
So, does anybody know of a commandlinearg for manila.exe to do this?
Like manila.exe --updateprogramspage <--this does not work...
Thanks in advance.
BTW: If somebody feels this isn't the right place for such a post, feel free to move it. I already tried Q&A but no response.
first option:
go to the "setting tab" on the home screen click "customise tabs" and rearange any tab order. click done and manila will restart its self.
Second option:
Goto all settings in the personal tab click today icon then in items tab (bottom), uncheck tf3d then click ok. go back into the today settings and check tf3d again, click ok and it will restart its self.
hope this worls out for you. Ive tried this tweek and it works greate. unlimited number of icons in the manila programs launcher only shame is after the first 30, you have to edit the rest using registry entries.
Thank you for the tip,
I'm using TFDetacher, so I'm able to restart Manila very easy.
But thats the problem, I don't want to restart it.
I want to manipulate the Start menu Items in runtime.

... and I need some help....
so... i have an HD2... and i want to get rid of each customization after each new coocked rom that i install....
althoug i searched is still hard to figure it out how to do all the stuff... so i'll just post a small request and if someone has time maybe will give me (and the others) a little help...

this is easy through UC
cutomization:

remove all locations - add my home city
regional settings - my home country
internet default location set to internet (by default it sets itself to wap)
sms: delivery notification ON
camera setings - superfine in pics
manila tabs config - just the order in witch they are and the tabs i don't wanna show... i founded in registry also
font set to smallest

shortcuts in the home tab... i found those in the registry also
facebook account credentials
and i think that's it...
with the os customization i know i need to insert somehow the registry settings... but i don't know how.... with chteditor settings and facebook i guess is still registry settings but where and how?
I've seen sashimi... but still... I know how to use it... I don't know how to configure it...
So... plz HELP...
lots of cooked roms have an auto instal feature. put all your cabs in a folder called autoinstall on your sd card then when your phone boots after a flash/hard reset will install them.(let the phone sit for 5 mins when it first starts up, thats when it installs them.
as for the settings, build your own cab. I use wince cab manager. takes a little time but once its set up you just run it after everything else has finished (don't auto install it, cos the cabs don't necessarily instal in the right order. so for example you instal an opera tweak then install opera your tweaks are overwritten.)
my tweaks cab installs my custom lock screen, enables htc magnifier, tweaks opera cache and user agent, decreases screen sensitivity, and a few other things.
Even better, heaps better, get sashimi, study the tutorials, then you can choose which cabs to install to internal meme, which to sd, what reg keys to import, what static files to copy where, and if you need it, add scripts, certificates, run EXEs, whatever you ask.
I use mortscript for doing customisation stuff.... I generally run nrg rom's which use XDA_UC, so I can drop .reg files in the folder and it adds them on rebuild.
Code:
#Backup Ringtone Settings
outfile="\storage card\xda_uc\RingTone.Reg"
If (FileExists(outfile) = 1)
Delete(outfile)
endif
key="ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0"
Category=RegRead(HKCU,key,"Category")
SavedSound=Regread(HKCU,key,"SavedSound")
Script=Regread(HKCU,key,"Script")
Sound=Regread(HKCU,key,"Sound")
WriteFile(outfile,"REGEDIT4^NL^")
WriteFile(outfile,"^NL^",true)
WriteFile(outfile,"[HKEY_CURRENT_USER" & "\" & key & "]^NL^",true)
WriteFile(outfile,"""Category""=""" & Category & """^NL^",true)
WriteFile(outfile,"""SavedSound""=""" & SavedSound & """^NL^",true)
WriteFile(outfile,"""Script""=""" & Script & """^NL^",true)
WriteFile(outfile,"""Sound""=""" & Sound & """^NL^",true)
That is from my backup script. Creates a .reg file with the settings for the ringtone stuff in to the XDA_UC folder so my last ringtone settings carry across
thanks guys....
use the installation of software i got it... and if the rom isn't UC capable i can do it with sashimi (i have seen the tuto videos and read the doc)... also with sashimi i can do my email settings...
what i didn't understand is how to build my customization.... i just search every registry record... write it down.... and then what?.... sahii says to put it there somewhere... but not exactly how to create it.... and what if a custom thing it is not present only in one place like user or local machine?...
don't understand your question. But to create the file, use the regexport tool. You build an INI describing which registry keys you want. The tool extracts them and creates a backup file for future re-deployment.
Been searching for a topic like this for a while!
Thanks for starting this thread!
I too am a flashaholic and REALLY get frustrated at having to customize EVERY time you flash...
Installing apps is easy, dump them into the UC folder on your SD card and voila.
The tricky part is getting the Regional Settings and Time Zone sorted. I tried exporting these settings from the Registry and putting them into the UC folder, but it still doesn't work...
Just use SASHIMI. This awesome soft does everything you mentioned above!
BTW: SASHIMI has a big help-file/HowTo included and you can find good video-tutorials on youtube as well.
i'll try sashimi more... and get back...
so for sashimi... actually you need a clean install with all programs and customization manually made and after that export the registry settings?
ok.. i've found CeRegEditor... with this I saw that I can export my registry... now I need help in order to localize all settings I need... and to avoid to miss regs that are placed in more than one place...
disable my location, manila tabs config - just the order in witch they are and the tabs i don't wanna show... and cookie settings for home layout - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila
phone ringtone set to K.O., sms/mms set to alert fader high no vibrate, email set to alert shine no vibrate, missed call no alert, ring type set to ring no vibrate - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications
I don't know if it is enough for the mentioned settings or if they appear in other places also.... i found out that ceregeditor only exports folders not single keys...
to export whole paths of registry keys, just go into totalcommander's registry editor, in double folder view, then COPY the selected folder of registry keys to a physical folder on the device, it will transparently create a .reg file
To import the reg file back again, either you use sashimi, or you COPY the .reg file from the memory into the registry with totalcommander
Pretty impressive huh
ok.. my first try was a mess....
i used sashimi... put the cabs all together.... this worked ok... although i have to change some names to install them in the correct order...
i made some reg files with CeRegEditor via activesync on the computer... i've put them into reg folder.... but nothing was imported... i think the format was not ok... at least i know what regs i need for the moment...
and last... i made an xml via sashimi/makisu... but this didn't worked either...
i'll keep trying....
LE: ok... it seems that i managed to make with some of the registry... with the xml file for the active sync i'll try more tomorrow....
does anyone know where I can locate facebook credentials inside registry.... not facebook the app but the sense integration...
and also where can i find the registry for
alarms
removing weather cities
removing timezone cities
setting regional setting to a specific country
thanks
Hello, new to manilla sense, I would like to ask how can I back up the settings links tabs and so on that i did in manilla sense before I change to another rom?
Does cht editor back up all these?
Thanks in advance.
yea cookies and cht editor is the way to go. once you have it set up, menu, cht editor - menu - export settings.
you can also set up multiple different layouts, export the settings and have chte drop a link to each layout into start menu so you can switch between layouts at a click.(well, a click plus twenty seconds for sense to restart, hehe)
Thanks Samsamuel!
You should probably check out "CHT Scheduler" as well.
Might as well have the whole set right?
It allows for a full (almost) theme save. So no more installing loads of cabs after a flash and provides you with a safety net if you break sense.
Which isnt difficult
