How to delete rom files under Windows dir? - Touch Diamond2, Pure General

for some reason, I want to delete a rom file under Windows dir, but it seems I don't have the permission.

Don't do it with FileExplorer but with TotalCommander. If that not works, you can rename the file with TC.

I use Resco Explorer

Only certain files can be deleted on a cooked ROM depending on whether or not the file was read only when cooked.

Deleting Files in Windows-Folder

Hi Guys!
Is it possible to delete files in the Windows-Folder, which are marked as "rom" ??
Because:
I'm using the M-Opal Rom. This ROM is including the new Manila 2D...so there is a file called "GXDMA.dll" in the windows folder. The Problem is, i have to delete this file, otherwise i cannot play a lot of games...but i cannot delete it, because it's marked as "rom"...i've tried resco explorer, but it can't delete the file also..

File Explorers for WM6

I'm looking for one that would allow me unlimited access to ROM files
Basically I want to use UPX Squeezer but Resco File Explorer won't allow me to copy some files giving the message: Access denied
Any ideas if there's another program out there that will go around this issue?
Thanks
you can try total commander, google it,it's freeware too
Some of the ROM files can't be copied out using File Explorers. For these files you need to use ROM Extractor.

problems in internet explorer

when trying to download windows mobile free extras via internet explorer i dowenloads them but in the form of themes (when i inistall them it opens the theme selection menue ) what is the problem also when downloading via opera it works probaply
This is not a solution but a workaround - if you are using IE, rename the extension of the downloaded file as .cab if they are in .tsk and you should be good to go.

how to rename it
Go to the folder where the file is downloaded (default is /My Documents) and rename it using file explorer or file commander

can anyone telle me how i can install .dll files with resco?

can anyone tell me how i can install .dll files with resco?
please tell me
have you tried renaming the old one, dropping the new one into the windows folder, and soft reset?
Are you really asking the right question?
Do you mean, how do you use Resco explorer to add .dll files to the windows directory when the original .dll is still in use by Windows?
Or do you mean, How do I convert a .dll file into a .cab so I can run it to install files?
Surely you can just copy the .dll's into the place you want them? then restart?

'im trying to install the 1 ghz hack in my LEO but when i put the msm_clk.dll file in the windows folder and i soft reset the phone doesn't boot
The "1GHz hack" is known to be a fake. Your HD2 already runs at 1GHz when it needs to.
