I do not need the volume button, but would like to use it to Scroll up/down. How can I do that??
On a related note, is there any way to remap the phone keys to be used by other software? Two keys are really too little (cant even control WMP properly)
Thx

Is there a way to easily adjust the volume using the wheel? Or do we have to get the stylus out :?
Cheers
Just tried SPB pocket plus but it doesnt have a volume indicator, just a control which doesnt show what the volume is set to!
any clues?
What is it that you want to do?
If you move the jogwheel during a call, you can change the voulme of the speaker...
OK, But do you know how to adjust the volume when not in a call without tapping the screen? is there a way to do this please?
probably clumsier than tapping the screen, but if you have both Spb Pocket Plus and MS VoiceCommand, you can issue commands for Volume Up, Volume Down, Volume Loop, and Mute.
You can also tapp on the Comm Manager button and toggle the between (preset volume), (vibrate), and (silent).
Is there a good screen tap recorder which works with the tytn?
I tried Vitobuttonmapper which does this but it messed up all my other button assignments! I just want to be able to assign the voicedialler press and hold function to bring up the volume bubble!
Anyone found a prog which will turn a screen tap into an .exe which will be assignable to a button?
Vijay?
Anyone??????
with aebutton plus 2.4.3 beta (its now in 2.4.4 beta), if you remap the "ok" buttons after adding it, you can select it in such a way (under "\options\restore volume slider\" select "if today is active").
Now in the today screen, when you press the ok button, the volume slider will be activated. You can then use he left right up/down keys to select the volume of choice.
However, upon capturing the ok button, i have to map the ok button to close active apps when pressed twice. Pressing it once, regardless of the program in the foreground yields nothing.
To minimize, i have the use the red phone button.
I use the following mortscript:
Code:
MouseClick 160,0
Sleep 100
MouseClick 160,200
In portrait QVGA.
There's a neater way with VJKeyPress as well, but I can't remember the settings right now
If necessary it'll be easy to turn this into a seperate app.

(i'm to much of a thicky for mortscript..... )
Hi
in manila setting tab, i separate ring volume ang sysyem volume. (like original state of WM or like diamond TF3d and ... )
yhe problem is that , when i want to change the volume, by pressing key, ring volume tab apears. and i must press system tab (from top) and then change volume.
is it possible that when i press volume key, the system volume tab apear directly.
tnx
Hi, I had the same issue. Actually I partially solved it by using a software called AE Button Plus to remap every physical button, including the volume ones. Actually, I "reassign" volume keys to control volume and allowed them to control the SYSTEM volume directly, not using that annoying grey window.

Hey guys
the android versions for blackstone are very well, u did a good job.
But why you don't use the "Hang up" button to go directly back to the home screen?
The prob is when i use the browser the only way to go back to the home screen is pressing the backward-button. that means it browses all the visited pages back before minimize the browser and show the home screen.
so why u don't used the turn off button to turn off the display and you the hang up button to minimize the running app and go directly to the home screen?
greetz.
I got similar question.
Why Android can't have same buttons behavior like WM?
Is something wrong with this?

It's because most devs have a different device.
But dude, check my signature...
next time a little searching might help you on your way a lot faster
could someone edit rootfs.img file like this:
remove "sleep" from End call button
and assign:
to Volume + button on hold => Home screen
to Volume - button on hold => Recent apps
is it possible? as I never hold volume key to increase/decrease volume, i always press it step by step..
do you think it would be ok like this ?

Altering button behavior is impossible. We can swap them around but HOME will always show Recent Apps when long pressed no matter to which button it is assigned (except for power). Sorry
oh.. I thought it is possible as I found this code for desire(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=683902) :
Code:
key 102 HOME
key 139 MENU
key 158 BACK
key 217 SEARCH
key 107 ENDCALL WAKE_DROPPED
key 116 POWER WAKE_DROPPED
key 115 VOLUME_UP WAKE
key 114 VOLUME_DOWN WAKE
and thought if it was possible to locate this code for blackstone and alter it..

That's what we're doing here - modifying that table. I think I didn't make myself clear enough: we can swap keys but we can't change what long press does. Check this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12066475&postcount=24
This is the rootfs I've made. Button assignment looks like this:
Code:
[FONT="Lucida Console"]
Button / Android function / Android long press
------------------------------------------------------
Power / Sleep / Power Menu
Volume Up / Volume Up +1 / Volume Up Continuous
Volume Down / Volume Down +1 / Volume Down Continuous
Call / Dial - Answer / Voice Dial
Home / Menu / Menu
Back / Back / Back
End Call / Home / Recent Apps
[/FONT]
You were clear I just thought it was possible
it is very hard when i want to change the volume while in cm7.
so now i call a volume ctrl app while long press "search" button.
but it is still not convenient
so I think it can put the buttons to the status bar.like cm7's tweak .
but i don't know how to achieve it.....
Search for "volume control" from "rubberbigpepper" on the market. This adds a volume slider to the right side of the screen
Edit: I think this belongs in general.
Sent from my CM7-powered Kindle Fire
ahhh thanks. this is the perfect volume control
