Won't boot with SD card in - myTouch 3G, Magic General

Recently, after trying to update to the latest version of Google Maps, my MT3G froze - and after reset I found out that it refuses to boot when sd card is in it. As soon as I remove the card - it boots up smoothly.
Tried formatting the card, did wipe/factory reset - with 0 effect. Still stuck on bootloader screen. I'm running CyanogenMOD 4.2.6.
Is there any solution to this mess?

I had the same problem.
SD card was broken, I bought a new one and all works.

Was it completely broken? I mean, mine is recognized by the cardreader and fully readable/writable.
It is even recognized by the phone - only in case it's inserted after the device boots up.

Sd card not mounting need help

I flashed a rom the other day and a couple minutes after flashing the rom kept rebooting not goin past the Mytouch splash screen. If the sdcard is in it'll reboot about 3 or 4 times and finally boot up or just removing the card it'll boot up normally. I unrooted to see if that was the problem. Same result I've tried different cards reformatting and everything and the cards work on other devices. So I'm assuming its the phone. Is there a way to fix or am I just stuck with a phone that can never be rooted again ?
Also when I go into recovery I get the" E: can't open /cache/recovery/command"

[Q] Anyone else have Mango lock up on restart

I loaded Yuki's ROM and updated to Mango via Zune. Had it running for about a week before I discovered that when I turn off the phone and then turn back on, it gets stuck at the point where it should be loading the home screen. I get the time at the top and that's it; the phone is completely unresponsive. The only fix I found was to do a hard reset and start over. I thought maybe an application caused this so after the reset, I turned off the phone before loading any other applications. It got stuck again at the same place. I suppose this could be linked to the sd card and I'll try a different one. Just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this problem.
--Edit--
I've linked my issue to the sd unlock cab. As long as I don't install, mango restarts with no problems.
I've had this a few times.
Usually get the lockup at the SIM password screen.
Just reboot again and it will come back. Sometimes a couple of boots are needed.
I have a supported Sandisk card BTW.
Thanks. I've given it 2 tries before the reset but not more. I'll try to be more patient with it this time...or just avoid turning it off
I had the same problem as well, reflashed it with the same problem. after doing about 3 hard resets it finally worked.
I'm getting this continually, every time i reset i end up having to hard reset...

[Q] Continuous, consecutive reboots.,doesn't happen in safe mode any fix?

Hi!
I've got an N910C with Lollipop ( I did a factory reset after upgrading and cleared cache) . It randomly decides to reboot, and will keep doing so. After a reboot, I can use it for about a minute till it reboots again. Booting into safe mode fixes it temporarily and it stays fine after safe mode, a regular reboot doesn't help.
I'd prefer not to factory reset, and would like to find the cause (app/sd card? Sandisk 8GB btw)
Cheers, thanks!
My N910A does the same thing except the times it reboots can vary from a minute to an hour later, but it reboots a lot.
Doesn't happen in safe mode only regular boot mode. That tells me it's either an app or SD card.
I swapped SD cards and same issue. I wish there was a log I could look at to see what app is running at the time of reboot, but haven't found any logs that have that info.
I'm stuck and running out of ideas.
Try factory reset again man and remove Sd and try to boot it

[Q] Nexus 4 Boot Loop - Struck in Animation

Hi All
I searched all the threads related to boot loop but did not solve my problem. I was in stock lollipop and my phone was working without any issues. One fine day I felt that the phone is hot and tried rebooting. The phone was struck in the initial graphic screen. Tried restarting again but the same result. After multiple failed attempts, tried doing a factory reset from the recovery with no luck. Thought that something got corrupted, installed twrp and did a fresh install of the factory image. That also did not help. Then installed Chroma ROM and then back to Kitkat factory image and all the attempts failed. Then tried installing Chroma ROM again and after a long wait, it booted up. I inserted the sim card and the network was not detected and hence had to reboot again. The reboot resulted in the bootloop again. Then installed CM 12.1(without sim) and it booted after considerable amount of wait time. Then inserted the sim card and it was not detected and had to reboot again. Now struck again in the boot animation. Is this a hardware issue? Also does the SIM card insertion requires a restart in Nexus 4.
Tried clearing cache/ dalvik cache and did factory reset, file system check but nothing worked..
Can some one help me on this..

Have you tried out the Nexus Root Toolkit? I know most are against toolkits but it really can't hurt in your situation! Try following the guide while having the SIM installed. And yes, SIM card insertion requires a reboot.
Good luck!

Help with strange bootloop

So, my G4 Plus got itself bricked out of thin air. I got it last year , unlocked it ages ago, tried some ROMs but decided to go back to stock+ because of pesky camera problems.
Earlier today i was using it normally when it froze and a long vibration started. With no other options I made a hard reboot and it started up again, only it didn't... The boot animation came out all choppy before rebooting itself again. Sometimes it lasted longer, sometimes a bit shorter but it never fully booted up again. Back home I booted into TWRP, flashed cache/dalvik, nothing. It DID get to a full "G" logo, then rebooted itself again. Got a ROM into the SD card, started flashing, froze, reboot again. Tried formatting everything, same thing, froze, reboot.
Just about the only things I can do with it are boot to TWRP and do anything that doesn't involve storage (so pretty much useless) and bootloader.
I also tried just about everything in my power to flash it on ADB/fastboot, but windows itself won't recognize the thing. All sorts of drivers, command lines, windows test mode (for driver certificate shenanigans), nothing worked. I even tried the same on a netbook with win7 since my desktop doesn't have a single USB 2.0 and I heard ADB has trouble with 3.0, nothing again. It doesn't recognize the device at all. They do recognize my girlfriend's G5 by the way, but seem to want nothing to do with my crippled-down-to-bootloader G4+.
I need some help guys, any clues?
Remember:
-Not your everyday bootloop
-Stuck with bootloader and limited usage of TWRP (i can copy files from SD to Internal with no problems)
-Neither Win10 with USB3.0s nor Win7 with USB2.0s recognize the phone at all, at least in this state (every driver out there already installed in every order)
