I think the price is for a SIM free MDA Compact which is open to all networks.
They delivered to me in the UK but I'm not sure about outside Europe.
You can buy one in France for 50€? Is that with a subscription/contract?
that is with a contract. i just bought a mda compact (magican) for 28 EUR inkl. a eplus time & more 500 contract from mobilejoker.de.
mobile joker is a waste of time
Don't bother if it's 380 pounds from those jokjers?
Amazon has it for 389 pounds, free delivery, and your buying from a first class vendor which will let you return it etc. all that bull**** to save 9pounds?

What was total price including delivery, and what did you think of it, as opposed to buying an english i-mate in the UK? Any downsides?

It was about £380 including delivery for the MDA and an 1GB SD card. I preferred that because it'd have cost me £411 for the Imate Jam alone from Expansys.
The only downside is that you have to install the English ROM yourself.
I am going to eat my words
OK, my wife took my Imate, and I went on mobilejoker.de, and yes, delivered in the UK it costs in the 480 Euros, or in the 340GBP range, 50GBP less than Amazon dearest. So sorry for basjing your mobileJoker,

Just ordered a german imate jam from mobilejoker - was having a problem when it was being translated on the fly through babelfish, but translated all relevant sections manuallu and it worked fine.
£317 including cash on delivery via UPS. And (I hope) including VAT - the vat figure (translated as "contains value added tax") appears AFTER the Sum Total for some reason.
Can't beat that price - I trust that accurate info from UPS will be delivered to me via a tracking number or whatever, so that I can be in when it's being delivered?
How do you get 317GBP
They charge 50 Euros delivery, + a hidden 15 Euro payment fee (UPS) . How much was yours in Euros out the door??
because if you add back 17%, it comes to 370GBP?
Also, did they not provide a tracking number?

Well they charged me 40€ and not 50€ for delivery. The COD charge is not hidden either.
The phone price does inclide VAT. They don't add VAT to the price.
It would seem that it is now possibe to get an English MDA Compact (not Imate Jam) cheaper than Mobilejoker.
If you get it on this contract, after paying all line rental for 12 months, it'll come to £265

Mikey,
Don't think that you have to pay them in Euros. I thought I would and most exchangers in the UK don't do it at the most favourable rate so I was gonna need £400 for my 544 Euros.
UPS will accept pounds. I wasn't home when they came but my flatmate tells me that the delivery man does some calculation (presumabley using the day's exchage rate) and gives you the pound value. I paid just over £380 for my 544€ purchase.
From www.xe.com it looks like you'll be paying just over £330. I also tells me that using this minute's rate, I'd have paid £374.
You're a genius!
Just ordered it, just as you said, 265GBP, glogged off my XDA2 for 180GBP, and got a spare sim!!! What a joke!

My invoice, sitting in front of me, for my MDA to be delivered to the UK, via UPS, COD. The items are as follows, in this order:
Delivery - 27 Euro
COD - 16 Euro
Total Price - 462 Euro
Includes VAT of 63.72 Euro.
Weird that they have the VAT figure AFTER the total, but it translates as "contains value added tax" or similar, so it looks like the 462 euro price is all in.
Not sure why you're adding back UK vat, and not sure what hidden charge you're speaking of...
mikey and 27, you guys on scancoms payroll?
No! Dude cancel your order though
Read the posts i did for Amazon, this is the second unti I buy, my wife took my imate, I was looking for the cheapest, and these Scancom guys make me laugh. I got the phone DELIVERED for GBP260. + 100 minutes per month sim =guest sim to lend to visitors. The reason why we are getting this is t-mobile quite rightly believe these phones encourage dtat tarrifs...oh sh*t. i hope it's not locked..ahhh! go to go

Hpe not - Last time I checked, t-mobiles data tariffs were terrible. I can't see anything equivalent to Orange World Access bundles of 4, 8, 25, 80, 400 and 1000Mb.
My preference is the 10Mb per month one for 80p per megabyte, Excellent value.

Glad I could help after last week's fierce debate!
I think it's a 1 year warranty with the Scancom deal but that's alright. 2 year warranties for electronics are now part of German consumer law apparently.
Thanks, but I'm worried now
It may be sim locked??? Ouch
There were a number of topics on this but they all have been pushed far down.
So what is the lowest price at the moment? And from whom?
Here in the Netherlands, you can get one for €470 total, by using a 0-minute 12months subscription from KPN. That's a one-time €320 purchase and 12 months of €12.50.
Not bad eh?
But you probably don't live here anyway...

Nop... I'm looking for sim free and those that can delivered to the US.
Paid 505 pounds including shipping for mine. Getting it tomorrow
Paid £450 for mine.. then again I managed to get it at cost price due to 'connections' (no not dodgy)
But the cheapest OFFICIAL place is via play.com if you use a 5% off code = £475 delivered
£120 + 12 months £30 contract, minus £40 quidco = £440
Needed a new contract anyway, so pretty good timing.
I'm in the UK and got it sim free for £506 (about 605 euros) incl del from www.insight.com/uk
Got mine from X1838 on Ebay and it came to $650 shipped to the USA when I used the live.com cashback. And it arrived really fast, ordered on thursday, received monday morning.
If you wait a little bit I bet using the same kind of deal i'm sureyou can get it for $600 shipped. Not too shabby, eh?
I got it for $470 after 25% live.com cashback and 10% paypal coupon.
There is a seller on ebay who is putting them up for 722.45, which seems to be the cheapest of all vendors.
Only £474.99 Delivered (Sim Free)
http://www.laughingdeals.com/all-de...cked-mobile-phone-pound-549.99-delivered.html
Play.com have changed the price of this handset a few times - it was £549, then £499, then went back up to £519 before coming down again.
£474.99 is the price you pay after the RAC discount voucher.
Got it for €545 sim-free (italian rom) on nanolandia.net
That would be £455 or $686.

475 quid. If it is unlocked and you aren't using some shady source or connected that's about what it is worth.
423 pounds from Handtec - no VAT seeing I live in Australia
Hi all,
I'm looking to pick up a sim free Touch HD (for use on T-Mobile). Over the past week I've done some research and I've found the following prices:
Carphone Warehouse (bought with O2 simcard) - £440.36 Phone + £10.00 PAYG O2 sim card {TOTAL = £450.36 inc VAT}
PrePayMania.co.uk - £499.99 inc VAT (+ FREE 5 DAY P&P) + 5% QuidCo {TOTAL = £476.18 inc VAT}
TotalPDA.co.uk - £505.99 inc. VAT (+ £9.95 P&P) + 5% QuidCo {TOTAL = £491.84 inc VAT}
Handtec.co.uk - £501.76 inc. VAT (+ £6.95 P&P) {TOTAL = £508.71 inc VAT}
LambdaTek - £505.48 inc. VAT (+ £9.50 P&P) {TOTAL = £514.98 inc VAT}
Clove.co.uk - £527.85 inc. VAT (+ £7.90 P&P) {TOTAL = £535.75 inc VAT}
Play.com - £474.99 ex VAT (with RAC voucher below) (+ FREE P&P) + 4% QuidCo {TOTAL = approx £546 inc VAT before QuidCo)
Expansys - £544.99 inc VAT (+ £6.95 P&P) {TOTAL = £551.94 inc VAT}
Handtec beats LambdaTek by a few pounds if that makes a difference....I just bought mine from them, ordered late Friday night and it was delivered in USA Monday morning with cheap shipping:
501.76 inc VAT
http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.php/1464/htc-touch-hd/79acef5c9460ba749d477eb28738e604
Thanks! That's a pretty good price.. Assuming there's not a lower price I'll order one and get on with selling my trusty old Kaiser and brand new Vario IV to fund it
mlalahoi,
How much total they charge you in USD (including shipping, and VAT). Do they charge us for VAT even we are in US? I would like to know the total cost so I won't be surprise.
Thanks!

Here's a great deal for the HTC Touch HD
Only £474.99 Delivered

Yea im just looking for the phone itself.........how much in U.S. Dollars.....im a native TEXAN also
Looks like we might have a potential winner here.
Does Play.com charge VAT on this item? If so the Touch HD could be:
£474.99 delivered inc. VAT = £403.74 excluding VAT. And it might be possible to get 0.5% quidco on top of that too.
Excluding VAT is the price VAT registered businesses and non-EU purchasers would pay (although I'm not sure about shipping costs for outside the UK mainland with Play.com).
Can we get the device any cheaper?
Damn wish I saw that 5% off play.com deal
I have one available posted on HowardForums.

Currently it looks like Play.com has the best deal available, I wonder why they're not showing as out of stock like most of the other retailers!
I might order from them, although it largely depends on what T-mobile can offer first! Thanks to everyone who replied with suggestions, I think we've got the definitive list. Maybe this thread should be stickied for a week or two.
Actually, the Play.com voucher deal only works if you are an RAC breakdown cover customer.
And even if you are, consider that the prepaymobiles through quidco is an extra £24.46 off, making it £464.89 with free delivery.
I got mine from Gumtree.com. Paid £390 for orange version (although completely unbranded) and paid £15 online to unlock. Grand total £405. Completely unlocked and unbrandanded generic software. Only small orange logo printed on battery cover.

Good price as they're going on eBay for around £500. Was yours second hand?..
via PrePayMobiles, it's £421 ex VAT with £24.46 QuidCo = £396.54 which looks like the best possible retail price going for a new Touch HD. Even if you're a consumer and/or not VAT registered, PrePayMobiles is only £489 - £24.46 Quidco.

I've been trying to get in touch with PrePayMania, but they're very slow at getting back to me. I did get a message that they were out of stock, but they don't know when they're getting more in. Which is odd.
Anyway, theorder.co.uk - who knows? Why not order with Play.com? They're the same price (and cheaper if you have RAC membership).
Dear O2 Germany users, need help here:
I got it with Handy-M, I pay ~470€ once, AND 10€ per month just for the phone!! (20€ monthly basis price). That by simple maths means: I pay 470 + (10 x 24 months) = 710€ for the handy!!! Help me out here, am I missing something or are they really over-charging me 710€ - (market price: 540€) = 170€ ??
Thanks for the help!! (I posted this before in another thread, didnt get any feedback )
You should have asked this question BEFORE getting the phone. Get ready to pay and have fun.
BTW, I paid 510 € for a TIM-branded one (but not simlocked).
I'm also at o2 Germany.
Touch HD: 429,99€
+ o2 Active 100 (100 free SMS and minutes): 15€ per month!
I think there's a small mistake in your claculation
me too,
429€ for the phone
15€/month(incl 100freesms and 100freeminutes) + 25€ for internet flat(resignable all 3 months)

I have bought it over eBay. It costs 109 Euro plus a montly base fee of 15 Euro for 24 months long. So it will cost 470 Euro's for me, really cheap I think.

my HD price
I got my HD from Orange UK online store. The handset should be 293.5 pounds, plus 24-month contract for 20 pounds each month (400 minutes plus 100 messages).
However, they just made a mistake on the price, and I got the phone at 29.5 pounds only (just missed "3"). Very very good luck. The contract price is: 29.5+20*24=510 pounds.

doesn't seem too bad a deal.
£320 + £10 p/m for 2 years
so
(£10 x 24) + £320 = £560
sim free the phone is £470
£560 - £470 = £90 / 24 months = £3.75
£3.75 2 year contract for 100 minutes, unlimited texts and internet.
is my maths correct?
