hi,
video call works only with GSM Diamond + 3G network enabled + WM6.1 (more buggy with some 6.5).
The most popular version is the VGA port made by amarullz (great work but not perfect yet).
Capt.Throwback made a cab from amarullz's package : HERE

SE told me that they disabled video calling on X1a's.
Front camera works just fine from Camera menu. I am able to get 3G signal.
So there is no carrier restrictions. My sim card works just fine on my Kaiser.
The dialer on X1a has no Video Call Button and also in menu there is no video
call option.
I tried to change reg but it didn't work.
Now, what should I try next? Will only installing a different dialer cab work? or
should I just flash one of those great cooked rom's on this forum, which
were made with X1i?
Thanks for any help in advance.
a dialpad won't help if videocall is disabled
flash the UK ROM

I tried this option and worked fine. It is not so good looking but it has the VideoCall.
For the slider to answer or ignore, I use the feature from S2U2...

Dialer is good but it simply killed my ringtone...fone does not rings during a call...and also is not letting me remove it from fone...pleeez help
I decided to start this thread since majority of chefs do not include video call support in their ROMs and many users keep asking the same question again and again in many different threads: how can I install dialer that supports video calls.
So 2 main purposes of this thread are:
1. Collect all video call capable dialers in one place
2. Build compatibility database
Post #2 contains the list of all dialers
To all users: if you successfully installed one of these dialers please share your experience using template in post #3 and I will update the second post accordingly. Also if you found some dialer that is not listed please let me know and I will add it to the list.

Good idea!
Hi Amarguli,
Very good idea.
As for me, I can confirm compatibility of Dialer: Combo HTC 3G Dialer and SmartDial by zard
Original thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425937
Works on ROMs:
1.60.21014aCS WWE by c_shekhar
Advantages:
- Works fine, there is the button for Video Call, and video call actually is possible.
Disadvantages:
- Installation process is quite complex because of so many SR involved
- Overrides the nice color icons for battery from c_shekhar's ROM
- In landscape mode, skin becomes the original polaris skin

If you want to make in-call record without any 3d party app, just do as stated below (thanks to Cerato)
In fact, WM supports in-call recorder via reg. It supports any dialer pad.
note 1: (If you don't have this key crate it)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\AudioRecording]
"Enabled"=dword:00000001
note 2If you don't have this key crate it)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Voice]
"EnableCallRecordMenuItem"=dword:00000001
"AllowInCallRecording"=dword:00000001
The recorder is *.wav file and saved at My Documents\Notes.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=322463&highlight=3g+dialer
And this one? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321605
but i think it doesn't work....
There is a 3g dialer fully compatible with latest builds of WM 6.5 (without screen dissaligning)?
Hi all,
I have a Topaz, which supports video calls. BUT I love the latest 2G Leo dialer, because it displays contacts waaay faster than the original Topaz dialer.
So the question is: which dll's do I need to mix to have a fast contact searcher, but also have video calls?
Thanks in advance!
Did you try out the latest Huashan Canvas? It supports videocalls and should be as fast as the leo dailer

Yes, its very fast. But the video calls do not work on the Topaz. Also, I am cooking for COM2...
Did you try Rhodium Dialer?
It works very well even on LEO.
I have a rhodium WWE.
My phone supports video calling
I tried the Huashan Dialer but only has landscape
Then I tried the Rhodium Dialer (Phonecanvas Something and Video Calling)
Then I tried a Leo dialer.
Im not understanding exactly what I need and whcih Phone canvas to make it work and whats the differences between the dialers.
I See some says Phone Canvas Enhancement @G and anotehr doesnt have the 2G
All i want is i rhodium or whichever other dialer that has video calling and landscape support but dont know what i need from which rom.
If i take the Phone canvasv4.2.517 from Base 210 and Video Telephony v2.5.35575 from the same base it show like a scroll bar on the side. Is that the incall position fix problem or is that something else?
Im using win 6.5.x 21682. Thanx
Ok I figured it all out for now
Edit Solved :
It looks like you only need two packages for a dialer to work.
Video Telephony
Phone Canvas Enhancement
The phone canvas enhancement that has a 2G in the package name doesnt have video calling
The reason I had the problem is that I used Rhodium Dialer v4.2.5127 which is for Windows 6.5 and was cooking 6.5.5
I then had to look for Caller ID fix and Position fix and cooked them both after the dialer and it was all sorted out.
Could you add the answer - for future reference?
Grumps, thanks a million for this thread, this made switching to a rhodium dialer so much easier lol
Thanks a lot, you're a huge help
Regards
Smith
